Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: Hidden Aspect to Nature Manipulation

Shota walked through the silent streets of Sunagakure. The silence helped him think clearly. What Spider had told him earlier kept repeating in his mind.

He found a flat rock near the edge of a small cliff and sat down. His legs dangled over the side as he stared out at the endless dunes.

'Nature Manipulation is something more than what was shown in the show,' Shota thought. 'The only thing in the anime was how Naruto learnt it to use Rasenshuriken. So did Naruto get some understanding of wind chakra? Or maybe his protagonist tag did all the work.'

Shota closed his eyes for a moment and tried to remember the scenes clearly. In the anime, Naruto had spent weeks training under Kakashi and later under Yamato.

Then he had tried to cut the rushing water of a waterfall with wind chakra blades. In the end, he created the Rasenshuriken. It was one of the most powerful techniques in the series.

Shota opened his eyes and frowned. 'Naruto tried to cut the waterfall with his chakra. Maybe that gave him a deeper understanding of wind. Maybe how wind can cut things. He learned to make wind sharper. No, not just that. He could also expand the Rasenshuriken to a big size manually, so did he manage to learn some principle of how winds can grow? Fascinating. How very fascinating.'

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. In the anime, it had all seemed like simple steps: add wind chakra, spin it faster, shape it into Rasenshuriken.

But now Shota understood what that training meant. Naruto had not just added wind nature to the Rasengan. He had studied how wind moved, how it sliced, how it spread, how it grew stronger when it pushed against resistance. That understanding turned a spinning ball into a flying storm of microscopic blades.

This new idea opened a lot more possibilities about his own jutsus. Shota could make flames hot enough to melt stone. He could make them big enough to cover a wide area.

He thought about his fire jutsu again. He pictured the flames he usually created. They burst out in straight lines or wide waves. They burned everything in their path. But could he make them move in patterns? Could he shape them into animals that ran and attacked on their own? Could he make them burn only what he wanted to burn and leave other things untouched? He had never tried any of those things. He had never even thought to try.

Shota let out a small laugh that had no joy in it.

He mumbled with a sigh,"I have always relied on my Erasure to win fights. My eyes could stop any jutsu that needed hand signs or chakra flow. But it has also made me lazy. Maybe that is the problem. Maybe I have leaned too hard on my eyes and not enough on real skill that has stopped my progress in ninjutsu. Maybe that's why my fire jutsu was just one percent as strong as what Madara had showed when he was reanimated. He must have added countless principles to his fire jutsus."

'Maybe that is how the first jutsus were created,' Shota thought. 'By understanding the different principles behind fire chakra or water chakra or earth or wind or lightning.'

He remembered reading old scrolls in the Sunagakure library. Some of them talked about the Sage of Six Paths and how he had discovered chakra natures. The texts said that true mastery came from feeling the nature itself, not just forcing chakra into a shape. Shota had skipped over those parts before. They seemed like boring philosophy. Now they felt like hidden instructions.

'It also explains why my jutsus lack the oomph behind them,' Shota thought.

He pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his chin on them. His mind went back to one of the strongest fire techniques he had seen in the anime.

During the Chunin Exams invasion, when Orochimaru fought the Third Hokage, Hiruzen had used a massive fire jutsu called Karyu Endan. The dragon flame bullet. Some of the fire had even turned white from the intense heat.

'That is probably the reason he is also called the Professor,' Shota thought. 'He might have learned so many principles behind every chakra affinity that all of his jutsu of any chakra nature were strong.'

'This is not the only case in the anime where something like this was hinted,' Shota thought.

He remembered Sasuke's Great Fireball Technique. In the beginning, during the genin exams and early missions, the fireball was not very impressive. It was bigger than a football, maybe the size of a small bonfire. It looked strong for a genin, but nothing special.

Then, after Sasuke trained with Orochimaru, the same jutsu became enormous. People in the fandom had said Sasuke just used more chakra for the jutsu. But Shota no longer believed that.

'Sasuke was not Naruto with a lot of chakra,' Shota thought. 'He was also smart enough not to waste a lot of chakra on a fireball that he knows almost everyone would dodge or raise an earth wall or water wall. He might have learned more about fire to do so with even less chakra.'

The idea made perfect sense now. Sasuke had probably studied fire the same way Naruto studied wind. He learned how flames spread, how heat rose, how fire could be compressed and then released to explode outward. That knowledge let him create bigger, hotter fireballs without burning through his reserves. It was skill, not just power.

Shota shook his head slowly. 'Damn Kishimoto for not telling about all of this. I could have progressed much further with my ninjutsu if I knew this earlier. Well, better late than never.'

A determined look settled on his face.

'Let us see if my science knowledge from the previous world would come in handy with this,' Shota thought. 'But I am almost positive it would.'
