Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Cloth Binding Technique

Shota had left Spider's office with a new fire in his chest. He had a path now. He would become the village's hidden leash.

But to do that, he needed more tools. Ten completed ANBU missions meant two reward jutsu from the secret catalogue.

He was supposed to get a reward of picking a jutsu after every 5 missions but he had decided to wait as he was still busy learning the chakra strings and Spider's jutsu using it.

The Spider Web jutsu had been a mountain he still had not climbed, and teaching Shizu had finally shown him the way to move forward with it.

Every day after the academy, Shizu practised making chakra strings. She was terrible at first. The threads snapped the moment they left her fingers.

Shota watched her struggle and realised he had the exact same problem with the spider web trap.

And he realised that the strings needed to hold their shape without constant feeding.

Watching her practice had given Shota the idea to stop trying to feed each string one by one for the spider web jutsu.

He had to picture the whole web in your head first. Every line. Every connection. Then push the shape out with one string that carries all the others. And use that one string to power the entire chakra threads construct.

Shota had practiced this and a perfect little spider web had appeared on the ground, glowing soft blue. It stayed there for ten whole seconds before fading.

He had finally broken through the first wall of Spider's secret art.

Now he could move to the next steps: adding wind nature, making the strings sharp, turning them into weapons.

That success made him hungry for more jutsu.

He walked straight to the reward hall beneath the Kazekage building. The ANBU on duty checked his mission record and slid two reward slips across the counter. Then he handed Shota the thick black catalogue that normal shinobi never saw.

Shota sat in the corner and flipped through pages of all jutsus inside Suna including some of the forbidden techniques.

Wind style had many choices. But none felt perfect.

He kept turning pages until he stopped on one name. He muttered "You got to be kidding me."

The jutsu name was Cloth Binding Technique.

He remembered the Fourth Great Ninja War. Suna shinobi had used giant rolls of white cloth to wrap reanimated enemies like mummies. The cloth moved on its own and sealed the targets completely.

It was exactly how the hero Shota Aizawa fought in MHA. He used it to bind enemies who could not use their quirks to break through them.

He would do the same but only with chakra and binding bandages instead of a capture scarf.

With this jutsu, he could control the cloth like Aizawa did. But Shota wanted to try the idea of the anti gravity part of his quirk, the one that made his hair fly up whenever he used the quirk. If he could control it, he would not need to use hand signs for this and the cloth would move on his own.

Maybe not perfectly at first, but with enough training, it might be possible. The cloth would become an extension of him.

He imagined fighting Taijutsu experts like Lee or Guy. They would rush in with fists and kicks. He would stare, take their chakra, and wrap them up like presents before they took two steps.

The jutsu was technically a Fuinjutsu. Since it came with a sealing formula that can be used to seal whatever is wrapped by the clothes.

That means he could seal dangerous enemies later. Jinchūriki. Reanimated shinobi. Tailed beasts if things got really bad. Starting early was smart. He did not mind having a sealing jutsu. Who knows when he might fight someone who he could not kill like a normal person and would require sealing them.

But the jutsu required buying binding cloth. And Shota did not want to use some normal cloth that might just get cut by kunai or blades of Shinobi. He wanted them to be durable enough to withstand such things including fire and the physical strength of shinobis.

But such clothes would be very expensive and he knew that he would not find them in any normal market. But he knew the perfect place to get it.

He closed the catalogue and looked at the ANBU behind the counter.

"Can I trade one jutsu slot for the best binding cloth you have? Top quality. The kind that doesn't tear."

The man thought for a moment, then nodded and disappeared into the back. He returned with a sealed scroll almost as tall as Shota.

Shota accepted it with both hands.

He gave up one jutsu choice, but the cloth was worth far more.

This special fabric was woven with chakra threads and seals. It could stretch, tighten, and hold even jōnin-level strength. It gave him reach in close and mid-range fights. It added tricks and surprises no one would expect from him. He could build his own fighting style around it.

Shota grinned behind his mask.

"Great then I would take this jutsu and the binding cloth." Shota said to the Anbu who nodded as he handed him the copy of the jutsu.

He walked out of the reward hall with the heavy scroll on his back, already planning how many naps he could take while practising his new toy.

Life was looking good for him.
