à slammed his fist into the wall of the Raikage's office so hard that stone shattered and dust rained down from the ceiling.
Chunks of rock fell to the floor as he stepped through the new hole he had made.
His eyes burned with rage. His brother Bee stood inside, leaning against the desk with his arms crossed.
Bee looked at the broken wall, then at A, and started rapping in his usual style.
"Yo big bro A, don't let that anger take control,
I feel yo pain deep down in my soul,
Third Raikage gone, left us in the cold,
But we gon' rise up, revenge gon' be bold.
They took our leader, thought we'd fold,
But Kumo strong, our story ain't told.
We gon' make 'em pay, make 'em feel the toll,
For every tear we shed, they gon' lose tenfold.
Yo pain is mine, we family, that's the code,
Together we fight, together we roll.
Iwa think they clever and bold,
But we gon' bring thunder, watch their plans corrode!"
Ā took a deep breath. His massive shoulders rose and fell.
"We would surely make them pay, Bee."
He walked to the Raikage's chair and sat down heavily. The chair creaked under his weight. He wanted to slam the table in front of him. He wanted to break something else. Instead he gripped the arms of the chair so tight the wood groaned. He shouted one word.
"DODOI!"
Dodoi walked in quickly. His face was already angry.
"Raikage-sama, we have just received intel that Iwa had collaborated with Suna to ambush and kill Lord Third."
A's eyes widened.
"Suna? Of all villages, Suna? The two villages that have fought everywhere at every chance and done so much damage to each other!"
He punched the table. The heavy wood cracked down the middle and collapsed into pieces. Papers, ink bottles, and scrolls flew across the room.
Dodoi waited until the noise stopped.
"We believe Iwa asked Suna for help to reduce our power. But there should be something that they are giving Suna. Otherwise I don't see Suna benefiting from angering Kumo by killing Lord Third."
à leaned forward as Dodoi continued,
"I believe they might have sent their new kekkei genkai child, Shota Aizawa, the Eraserhead of Suna with the ability to stop people from using chakra. Our intel says that he had joined ANBU."
à muttered our loud,"He can even stop my father from using chakra. That means the ability does not care about the strength of the person it is used on. Try to look for countermeasures for it."
"Understood," Dodoi said. "Also, we have received intel that Iwa had lost a handful of its shinobi even with his chakra gone, at the hands of Lord Third."
à smirked.
"My old man was not going down without a fight."
He stood up slowly.
"The kid and Suna. We can't deal with him right now with Kiri and Konoha already breathing down our necks. He has a bounty from Iwa, right? Well, put our own separate bounty. And make it high. And call the elders. We would need to devise a plan and give an appropriate response to both Iwa and Suna while also dealing with Konoha and Kiri."
Dodoi bowed.
"Yes, Raikage-sama."
He left quickly.
à looked at the broken table and the hole in the wall. His brother Bee stayed quiet for once.
The room felt empty without their father's presence.
----Scene Change----
In Konoha, Hiruzen Sarutobi sat at the head of the council table. The three elders — Homura, Koharu, and Danzo sat around him with Shikaku standing at Hiruzen's side.
They had recieved the news that the Third Raikage was dead.
Hiruzen spoke first. "The reports are confirmed. The Third Raikage fell in battle against Iwa. Suna was involved."
Homura leaned forward, "With this, we can push Kumo back. Their front will weaken without their strongest leader."
Shikaku nodded and added, "We also need to keep an eye on Suna and Iwa. An alliance between them could be bad for Konoha. We should try to push Suna toward us instead."
Koharu agreed."Kumo would also likely withdraw from our front for now. I don't think they would issue a ceasefire yet. But they will need time to regroup."
Shikaku looked around the table."I think we should move with our previous plan of a genuine shinobi village alliance with Sunagakure."
Danzo's eye narrowed. "They will betray us the first chance they get if they see a weakness to get some of our fertile land."
Koharu shook her head. "Such an alliance would have the daimyōs of both countries sign it. Betrayal would be hard met by their own country's nobles. The daimyōs cannot break their word without losing face and power."
Hiruzen nodded slowly."It would also make us worry about one less shinobi village. Konoha has always been fighting all four major villages. One less would be a blessing."
The elders nodded. They had fought on too many fronts for too long.
Homura asked. "But why Suna? Why not try other villages?"
Shikaku answered.
"They are the only one weakest of them and we can offer them food, water, and other such things at cheap prices. Something that they need. Other villages are too prideful to surrender. And they would think of it as we are weak."
He continued.
"Suna would think of this as getting a favourable nation to them that would support them, which they really need after antagonising Kumo."
Hiruzen looked tired. The war had aged him more than years should.
He looked at everyone around the table.
"All in favour of getting an alliance with Suna?"
Hands rose. Homura. Koharu. Shukaku. Even Danzo, which surprised Hiruzen.
Hiruzen then took a breath before saying the thing that he had called this meeting for. "I will be stepping down from my position as the Hokage."
The room went silent.
"My successor would be appointed soon and he would be the one to sign the peace agreement with Suna. My successor will be…"
Danzo had a small smile on his face.
'Finally. Orochimaru will get the Hokage seat. And then it will not take much longer before I can become one.'
But Hiruzen shattered his expectations
once again.
Hiruzen finished the sentence.
"Namikaze Minato."
Danzo's smile froze.
