Chapter 3 - BHRATARAU VIHASANTAU

After getting proper rest on the first day, on the next day morning we started our trek.

Due to the interference of rain, it took us the whole day to reach here.

After taking some refreshments and resting for 10 min, as I turn towards Yash, I see, he is sleeping, lying on bare land.

"Wake up, chote, or I'm going to leave you here, alone.

"How can you even get tired from just climbing a 3 km trek? We have more than three KM trek ahead of us?"

He really needs to work on his fitness.

"Aah, just let me sleep, I don't want to climb more mountains."

"If you don't wake up when I count to three, we'll go back to the start and begin again. This time, we won't stop to rest until we reach our destination.

Whole trek. Without a break.' Vs 'left 3 km'. You choose."

As my words settle in his brain, he stands upright and starts viewing his surroundings, as if searching for something or someone.

"Which bastard is sleeping, huh. Where had he gone?"

His acting is hilarious, for sure. Before I could remind him who that bastard he's looking for is, he started packing his belongings.

"Big bro, though I love climbing mountains with you, I know how eager you are to see the Gangotri point, you don't have to start anew for me. You understand, right, no going back, let's resume this one only, okay. Please."

He seems terrified by the thought of starting again. Looking at his face, I couldn't stop myself from messing with him.

"Haha, I love how much you understand me, chote, but you don't have to be so considerate for me, you know I do yoga daily. You just have to say a…"

Before I could even finish my sentence, he swiftly hung his backpack and walked ahead of me.

"Big bro, what are you blabbering to yourself? Hurry up, we don't have time to waste. Who knows when the weather might change?"

Even if he is just spouting nonsense, he is correct about the weather; today is August 3rd, and rain has become more frequent. We have to stop many times due to it, as rain might increase the chances of landslides.

The weather is same throughout the year, that is, unpredictable. We can not predict when it will rain, or when it will start snowing, or when the temperature may rise more than 60 degrees Celsius.

Though it is noted that the seasons may affect it a little bit. During summer, heat waves are more frequent, temperature can even go beyond 70°C in some places. In the rainy season, it can rain for more than 24 hours nonstop. Winters can become as chilly as possible.

Rain is also one of the reasons why Yash does not want to come here; he hates rain.

But as I have my final semester exams starting next month, I don't have much free time left after this week, so he is forced to come with me (by me).

Looking at him by my side, I can see he is still tired from climbing.

"You know, you should start doing yoga, it helps you become fit, and what do you even do while being engrossed in your omnione bracelet the whole time?"

He is quick to remark,

"Tch-tch. It's not my fault that you old-gen people can't understand new-gen tech?"

"Who are these 'old gen' people, you bastard. Do you want me to beat your ass? Did you forget, it was I who gifted you that bracelet on your 18th birthday?"

I hit him lightly on his forehead.

"How many times do I have to say, don't hit on my forehead, what if it leaves a mark? Then how will I get a girlfriend?" He started checking his forehead.

"Before worrying about getting a girlfriend, you should worry about your fitness. How will you satisfy your future girlfriends when you get tired so easily?"

How can he think about getting a girlfriend before me?

"Bro, I know that you are an expert when it comes to fitness, but since when have you become an expert in satisfying a girlfriend? Are you not a virgin?"

It looks like he forgot his lessons in manners.

"Hoh, doesn't it seem like you are going beyond your limits? And who says I am a virgin?"

As I raised my hand to hit him, he quickly dodged it by moving his head away from me.

"Saved."

But for how long?

"You really want to leave a mark on my forehead or what?"

"Why don't you see it yourself?" Before I can hit him...

"Waaaiiit or I will tell Shweta didi about your feelings." ('didi' word is used for females in India, like 'onee san' is used in Japan.)

"...What feelings and for whom?"

How can he know about her? I didn't even tell Amit about her, and he is my best friend.

When our eyes met, I could see a smirk on his face (a type of smirk which little siblings give when they think they have found a top secret of their older brother/sister). It was at this moment that I knew, he knew.

"How?"

"How, what?"

"You know what I mean."

"I don't know what you mean?"

Only I know how much willpower I am using to stop myself from hitting this irritable creature.

"Okay. Let me make myself clear. Mr Yash Vedman, how do you know about Shweta?"

"Oh, she. Do you not know? Her society is next to our society. She even goes to the same park as you for a morning walk."

"That's just a coincidence."

"Both of your yoga centres are also the same."

"As I said, a coincidence."

 "She also goes to B.H.U."

"...…"

"OH, come on, you don't have to hi__

"That's my private mat__
