Chapter 11 - VEGA: Dawn of a New Era

The moon hung impossibly large in the sky, a silver disc illuminating the war-torn city below. Smoke curled in the wind, flames flickered from collapsed buildings, and chaos spread in every direction.

On the highest rooftop, five figures stood — Ren, his red-lensed mask gleaming, Edgeshot, taut and poised, Hero Killer: Stain, blade at his shoulder, Dabi, blue flames licking his arms, Toga, knife in hand, and Riptide, water swirling like serpents around him.

Ren's metallic nails glinted. Thin wires hung from his wrists, coiled and ready. The cloak behind him fluttered in the wind, a dark banner against the moonlight.

A manic laugh escaped him, echoing across the empty streets.

> "Not a villain… not a hero!" he shouted, voice carrying to every corner of the battlefield.

"I am Mastermind! The one who will start the new era!"

He spread his arms wide, as if embracing the chaos and the night itself.

> "From now on… we are VEGA! The true meaning of peace will be revealed — and it begins tonight!"

Below, heroes froze. Endeavor's flames flickered in disbelief. Hawks' wings stiffened. Lemillion, Edgeshot, and the U.A. students exchanged shocked, questioning glances.

Even the villains hesitated. Shigaraki's eyes widened with fury and confusion. Spinner whispered,

> "What the…? He's taking control of everything?"

From the streets, civilians looked up, frightened, unsure. Was this a villain, a hero, or something else entirely?

Ren's laugh rose again, louder this time, almost inhuman.

> "Heroes, villains… witnesses of the old order! You fought for lies, obeyed for illusions, bled for empty symbols! I will change it all!"

Riptide's water coiled and glimmered like living chains. Toga twirled a knife, Dabi's flames danced higher, Edgeshot flexed ready to move with precision, and Stain's grin was wide, bloodlust mixed with admiration.

> "The old era ends tonight," Ren continued, voice cold, manic, yet perfectly composed.

"We are VEGA! And we will bring true peace… on our terms!"

The moon behind them cast long shadows across the city, stretching like the fingers of destiny itself.

Below, heroes and villains alike felt it — the world had just gained a new force, unstoppable, unrecognizable, and terrifyingly brilliant.

Ren lifted his head, eyes glowing behind the mask. The new era had begun.

> "Watch closely, world," he whispered, almost to himself.

"The Mastermind is here. And there's nothing you can do to stop it."

The battlefield froze for a heartbeat — then erupted into chaos.

Dabi, Toga, and Edgeshot had abandoned their respective sides to stand alongside Ren, Hero Killer, and Riptide atop the ruined rooftop. The moon behind them cast long, silver shadows, and Ren's manic laughter carried across the war-torn streets.

Heroes' Reaction:

Endeavor's flames roared higher, hands trembling with fury.

> "Edgeshot… you traitor?!"

Hawks' wings slashed through the air, scanning desperately.

> "Dabi… Toga… what the hell are you doing?!"

Lemillion's fists clenched.

> "They were on our side… how… why…?"

Even U.A. Class 1A froze, their confusion mirrored in wide eyes. The heroes had trusted these allies — now their loyalty was gone, replaced by the cold, calculated obedience to Ren.

League of Villains' Reaction:

Shigaraki screamed in fury, rage distorting his features.

> "WHAT?! Dabi, Toga, you traitors?! I gave you power! I led you!"

Spinner stepped back, eyes wide.

> "Impossible… he… he manipulated them?"

Other villains murmured in disbelief, some frozen, some sneering nervously. Even the League's most loyal members couldn't comprehend the audacity.

The Betrayers:

Dabi's blue flames crackled, face calm, defiance in his eyes.

Toga twirled her knife, grinning.

Edgeshot crouched, ready, eyes sharp.

All three looked to Ren, nodding slightly — silent acknowledgment that their choice was final.

Ren's laugh echoed across the ruins, a sound both chilling and mesmerizing.

> "Heroes, villains — witnesses of the old era — welcome to the dawn of VEGA! The world you knew is over, and the new one begins tonight."

The heroes' attacks hesitated mid-air; coordination broke as trust collapsed.

The villains froze, unsure whether to follow or fight.

Even Shigaraki's voice shook with fury:

> "You… you will pay for this, Mastermind!"

Ren tilted his head, mask reflecting the moonlight.

> "Pay? No. You'll survive to see it all fall apart. Because I am Mastermind, and this… this is only the beginning."

The city below seemed to hold its breath.

All at once, every combatant — hero and villain alike — realized one terrifying truth:

Ren had turned the battlefield into his chessboard, and e

very move, every reaction, every allegiance was now under his control.

Ren stood atop the tallest pillar of the ruined cityscape, cloak flowing, metallic wires glinting in the moonlight. His red-lensed mask reflected the chaos below.

> "Catch me if you can," he called, voice carrying like thunder.

Suddenly, the air behind him shimmered. A shadow bent the space itself. A gate opened, and Kurogiri stepped out, calm, composed, ready.

Gasps erupted across the battlefield.

Heroes' Reaction:

> "Kurogiri?!"

Hawks' wings froze mid-flap.

Lemillion's fist clenched in disbelief.

"He was locked in prison! How—"

Endeavor's flames flared, hotter and wider, scanning for traps.

"This is a setup. Every single one of you!"

U.A. Class 1A shouted in confusion, some hiding, some readying their quirks.

> "He's… he's working with him?!"

League of Villains' Reaction:

Shigaraki's face twisted in rage.

> "WHAT?! Kurogiri's free?! That's his plan!"

Spinner muttered in disbelief.

"Ren… he used the chaos to get him out…"

The Attack:

Every hero and villain who could reach him surged at once. The air vibrated with unleashed quirks — fire, ice, electricity, wind, and brute force colliding toward the rooftop.

Ren's eyes glowed red behind his mask.

> "Perfect," he whispered. "Exactly what I calculated."

He activated 25% of his quirk, wires snapping outward with surgical precision, tangling pillars, redirecting fire, and slicing through projectiles.

Riptide's water bent around him, conducting and diverting attacks. Kurogiri's gate shifted fluidly behind him, ready to transport him at a moment's notice.

Edgeshot darted through the chaos, blades and wires slicing through the battlefield, protecting Ren while keeping the offensive dynamic. Dabi's flames burned strategically, creating zones of fire to block and confuse, while Toga flitted unpredictably through the shadows, cutting off approaching threats.

Even Shigaraki, screaming with rage, realized something terrifying: Ren wasn't just fighting. He was controlling the battlefield like a conductor, turning heroes and villains alike into instruments of his design.

Ren's voice echoed over the storm of attacks:

> "You all think this ends here? No. You're exactly where I need you. Every move, every attack, every reaction… predicted. Controlled. And exploited."

The rooftop trembled as multiple quirks collided. Fire, water, wires, and shadows intertwined — yet Ren remained calm, poised, untouchable, and untangled.

> "Welcome to the new era," he shouted, eyes glowing. "VEGA doesn't chase chaos. We create it."

The battlefield erupted further, but Ren's mind was already three steps ahead. Every attack funneled, every escape route anticipated, every counter ready. The heroes and villains had no idea they weren't

fighting just a man — they were fighting the Mastermind himself.

The battlefield raged below — heroes lunging, villains hesitating, and chaos erupting everywhere.

Atop the highest rooftop, Ren crouched lightly, cloak fluttering, wires coiling at his wrists like living snakes. Around him, Dabi, Toga, Edgeshot, Hero Killer, and Riptide moved with precision, clearing the path, cutting off attacks, and neutralizing anyone who got too close.

> "All set?" Ren's voice was calm, almost playful, carrying over the roar of flames and the clash of quirks.

Edgeshot sliced through the rubble, sending heroes tumbling aside. Dabi flared his blue flames, creating an invisible barrier. Toga danced unpredictably, knives flashing, keeping pursuit off balance. Riptide's water streams shifted, forming perfect conduits and safety channels. Hero Killer stood as an immovable anchor, blade ready to cut through the chaos.

> "Perfect," Ren whispered. "Now… Kurogiri."

A shadow shifted behind him. A shimmering gate opened, dark and swirling, anchored to Ren's exact position.

Without hesitation, Ren leapt backward, wires retracting, landing in the gate's center.

> "Come on… keep up if you can," he said, laughing, voice echoing across the battlefield.

The five others followed immediately, each moving with controlled precision, guiding Ren through the path they carved. Flames, projectiles, and attacks splashed harmlessly around them as the Mastermind's team cleared the way like ghosts of the night.

The gate closed behind them, swallowing the group. The heroes below were left staring at empty rooftops, mouths agape, unable to believe what had just happened.

From the shadows of the city, Ren's voice carried faintly, taunting, playful, and dangerous:

> "Better luck next time. Heroes… villains… try to catch what you can't even see."

And then silence.

The moon above illuminated the abandoned rooftop, empty now except for scorched stone and scattered debris — a battlefield claimed by VEGA, the new era already in motion.

The city streets and rooftops were a warzone — heroes and villains clashing in chaotic waves of fire, wind, electricity, and sheer brute force.

Ren ran ahead, his cloak and wires whipping behind him, weaving through the chaos. Behind him, Dabi, Toga, Edgeshot, Hero Killer, Riptide, and Kurogiri followed, each carving a path, dodging attacks, countering threats. But the sheer number of combatants — heroes desperate to stop them, villains confused or opportunistic — made the escape nearly impossible.

> "We can't keep this up…" Toga muttered, spinning her knives defensively.

> "Just a little further!" Riptide called, water bending to shield them.

Endeavor and Lemillion surged from above, Shigaraki and other League members striking unpredictably. Even the ground beneath them seemed to fight, as rubble shifted and quirk after quirk collided.

And then — everything froze.

The thin metallic wires around the escape route snapped taut, suddenly immobilizing anyone who touched or tried to cross them, both hero and villain alike. Sparks danced along the strands, faint blue energy humming ominously.

A chilling, modulated voice echoed through the battlefield, seeming to come from every direction at once:

> "Dabi… Toga… Edgeshot… Hero Killer… Riptide… Kurogiri…"

Even over the chaos, the team's heads turned, recognizing the voice.

> "I hate to wait," Ren's voice continued, calm and maniacal,

"come fast."

No figure appeared, yet every move, every quirk, every calculation was already accounted for. The frozen wires, the exact timing of obstacles, the paths cleared and the paths blocked — everything had been planned in advance.

Dabi's blue flames sputtered, flickering in surprise. Toga's knife twitched. Edgeshot crouched, assessing the frozen battlefield. Hero Killer and Riptide exchanged glances. Kurogiri's mist swirled nervously.

> "He's not here," Edgeshot muttered, voice tight. "But… he knew this would happen."

> "No villain… has ever done something like this," Riptide whispered.

The voice echoed again, faintly amused:

> "Relax. I always planned your escape. You're still alive because I calculated every obstacle. Move now… and follow the path I designed."

Slowly, almost like a pulse, the metallic wires relaxed in precise order. The frozen heroes and villains stumbled but didn't immediately recover — Ren's foresight had bought them enough time to slip away.

> "Let's go," Ren whispered into the comm. "Follow the path… and remember who controls the game."

One by one, Dabi, Toga, Edgeshot, Hero Killer, Riptide, and Kurogiri moved, slipping through the chaos as if guided by an invisible hand. The battlefield roared behind them, but Ren's Mastermind planning had ensured their survival — again.

Above the chaos, the moon cast a silver glow, silent witness to the brilliance and terror of a man who controlled everything from behind the curtain.

> "VEGA doesn't just survive," his voice echoed one last time.

"VEGA dominates."

The battlefield behind them was pure chaos — explosions, clashing quirks, screams, and fire lighting the night sky.

Above it all, Ren led the way, wires coiled, boots spring-loaded, mask reflecting the moonlight. Behind him, Dabi, Toga, Edgeshot, Hero Killer, Riptide, and Kurogiri followed in precise formation, each moving like clockwork along the path Ren had meticulously planned.

Every step was calculated. Every alleyway, rooftop, and shadowed corridor had been analyzed. Every hero's quirk potential predicted. Even the most chaotic elements of the battlefield bent to the invisible hand of Mastermind.

> "Stay tight," Ren commanded.

"Follow the path. Don't improvise unless I tell you."

Water streams shifted to block fires, metallic wires redirected falling debris, and Kurogiri's gate appeared exactly where needed to bypass overwhelming attacks.

Even when Lemillion lunged with a powerful kick, Edgeshot's blades intercepted, slicing a path as Ren's voice crackled through their comms:

> "Step aside. Calculated. Go."

Dabi's flames surged to block incoming heroes. Toga darted unpredictably, creating diversions and drawing attention away from the path. Hero Killer moved like a wall of steel, unyielding and precise. Riptide's water bent seamlessly with every obstacle, absorbing impact and creating shields where needed.

From above, Ren's red-lensed gaze scanned constantly, tweaking paths, retracting wires, and deploying subtle obstacles in real-time.

> "Almost there," he whispered, voice calm, manic, and assured.

Finally, at the edge of the city, a shimmering gate opened, Kurogiri stepping in first to guide them. One by one, VEGA's team slipped through, leaving behind stunned heroes and bewildered villains alike.

Below, Endeavor's flames sputtered. Hawks' wings beat frantically. Lemillion's jaw clenched in disbelief. Even Shigaraki froze, eyes wide.

The city streets were empty now — the battlefield littered with scorched debris, overturned vehicles, and lingering smoke.

And above, Ren's voice echoed one last time, carried through the night like a phantom:

> "You thought you controlled the battlefield…

…but the game was mine from the start.

VEGA has arrived.

Remember the name."

The moon hung large over the ruins, casting silver light on an empty battlefield — a silent testament to the escape of the new era's masterminds, untouchable, unstoppable, and always one step ahead.
