Chapter 253 - Chapter 253: The Maze

Charmcaster was bound inside the ring of light, her face full of shock as she struggled with all her strength.

"Wh-what the hell is this thing?!"

"Space Confinement."

Necromancer gave a cold snort and waved his bone staff, releasing several green vines that wrapped tightly around Charmcaster to reinforce the restraint.

"Ah! Let me go, you dead creep!" Charmcaster shouted.

Necromancer let out a sinister laugh and walked up to Charmcaster. Then he extended a pale skeletal claw and slowly reached toward her.

Charmcaster turned pale with fright, her legs kicking wildly.

"Ah! I was wrong! I won't dare hit you again! Please have mercy and let me go, wuwu!"

This was terrifying.

There was no way she wanted to be violated by a skeleton...

Necromancer was speechless. He only wanted to take her magic pouch, not do something worse than a beast.

But just as he was about to reach it, a crimson beam suddenly shot in from the side.

Necromancer withdrew his hand and turned to look.

"So it's you," Necromancer said flatly, staring at Hex floating in the air.

"Don't even think about hurting my niece." Hex raised his staff and controlled a metal fake bull, sending it charging over at high speed.

Necromancer cast earth spikes, instantly piercing the metal bull through and pinning it motionless in midair.

"Hey, Hex, your opponents are us, so don't get distracted!"

Lucky Girl shouted as she gathered Water Magic and closed in on Hex together with Wildmutt.

On the other side, after stopping the metal bull and seeing Hex tied down, Necromancer turned back toward Charmcaster.

At that moment, the Space Confinement spell ran out.

Charmcaster retreated into a corner and watched Necromancer warily.

She didn't dare attack again so casually. Necromancer's strength had made her deeply wary.

"Hand over the magic pouch, and I can consider sparing you." Necromancer held out a hand.

He wasn't negotiating. He was ordering her.

"No way!" Charmcaster shook her head and instinctively covered the pouch at her waist.

That magic pouch was practically her lifeline. Without it, she would have almost no way to attack.

"If you won't hand it over, I'll take it myself..." Necromancer said as he started walking toward her.

"W-Wait! I'll give it to you, okay? I'll give it to you..." Charmcaster looked like she was about to cry as she slowly reached toward her waist.

But she moved very slowly.

Her mind was racing, trying to figure out how to trick him.

Launch a fatal attack the instant she handed over the pouch?

No, no, that was too risky... If that dead creep saw through her, she'd be finished.

But was she really supposed to hand it over just like that?

Or... should she leave the dark side and defect to Lucian?

While Charmcaster was still thinking, Necromancer had already walked right up to her.

"I'll say this one last time. Hand it over." Ghostly green flames danced in Necromancer's eyes.

"I..." Charmcaster had just started to speak when—

Suddenly, Hex erupted with astonishing magical power from the stage.

"That's enough. I don't have time to play with you!"

Hex activated a forbidden spell. A violent black hurricane burst from his staff and surged wildly like a demonic dragon.

Before anyone could react, they were swept into the black storm, thrown violently out the door, hurled past the courtyard fountain, and sent flying into the Maze Park.

The Maze Park was a tangled labyrinth, surrounded by green hedge walls with no signs anywhere.

Necromancer, Wildmutt, Gwen, and Grandpa Max landed in an open area, with rough green walls rising on both sides.

Hex floated in the air and landed lightly on the ground together with Charmcaster.

"The moment of Heaven and Man as One is almost here. Hand over the Keystone of Bezel," Hex pressed, his dark crimson robe snapping in the wind.

Necromancer stared at him and said, "Come take it if you can."

"Hex, keep dreaming. The Keystone of Bezel doesn't belong to you," Gwen said through gritted teeth, clenching her fists.

"Roar!" Wildmutt growled in agreement.

Hex snorted coldly.

"Charmcaster, let's attack together and take the magic pendant stone!"

"Okay, Uncle." Charmcaster raised her hand and condensed a purple sphere of light.

Seeing that, Necromancer lifted his staff.

"Ben, Gwen, you two deal with Charmcaster. I'll handle Hex."

He wanted to see whose magic was stronger.

"Got it!" Lucky Girl didn't hesitate. She leaped back and forth as she charged Charmcaster head-on.

Wildmutt let out an angry roar and threw itself into battle with the stone beasts, the fight shaking the ground and sky.

As for Grandpa Max, Necromancer summoned wind elementals to carry him to a safe place.

At that moment, Necromancer and Hex faced each other, their eyes locked.

Hex hovered in midair, looking down at Necromancer below with a mocking smile.

"Interesting. At last, I've met a true magic expert."

"You're not bad yourself. You're not from this dimension either, are you?" Necromancer's gaze was sharp.

Hex's pupils shrank slightly.

"Y-you... how do you know that?"

"Just a guess."

Necromancer lightly raised a hand and summoned a six-pointed magic array out of thin air.

"Earth's Mass, Fire's Flame!"

From the array, a massive boulder about ten meters wide slowly emerged. Its huge shadow instantly covered Hex.

At the same time, blazing crimson flames roared out of the array like a vicious fire dragon and coiled around the boulder.

In an instant, the giant rock was wrapped in scorching fire, radiating terrifying heat that twisted the air violently, like a meteor falling from the sky.

This was the fusion of the fire and earth elements!

"Go!" Necromancer swung his staff.

The blazing giant boulder, carrying rolling waves of heat and an overwhelming sense of pressure, hung above Hex and slowly came crashing down.

Hex felt as if he were facing a deadly threat. He immediately pushed his magic power to the limit, raised the gray bird-beak staff high, and fired a burst of violent golden lightning from it…

Elsewhere, Charmcaster was fighting Gwen.

"Oh, man, I wanted to go beat up that witch too," Ben said bitterly from the side.

His transformation time was up, and the watch was in cooldown.

Still, Wildmutt had already taken care of all the stone beasts, easing a lot of the pressure on Gwen.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Dozens of surging water arrows shot out all at once, sharp and deadly, sealing off Charmcaster's retreat.

Charmcaster reacted quickly. Holding a purple light whip, she swung it wildly like a nimble purple serpent, smashing every single water arrow.

But in the very next second, a thick Water Dragon Soul carrying an icy mist slammed hard into Charmcaster's lower abdomen...
