Chapter 8 - chapter 17: ready for a date

" Leslie help me decide, should I wear this dress or this one?" Shirley asked holding two dresses Infront of a mirror. One was a slightly long round floral dress while the other was a long body cone dress that would practically be a second skin.

Leslie didn't answer she just continued looking through her phone. They had been through this for Soo long and those might be the a hundredth dresses she asked about. The floor was full of clothes that Shirley had thrown out after she had given her a choice.

Shirley couldn't pick what she wanted, Sebastian would be arriving in an hour but she didn't have any thing to wear for their date. She just couldn't choose one.

" Fuck it," she murmured under her breath and threw the floral one away. She would wear that when they go to the beach.

She had already done everything so that she would not be late on her first date.

She put on the dress and looked at herself, it really suited her . Almost all the clothes in her closet were new since she wanted a new start and forget everything from the house.

" Leslie which purse should I carry the plain one or the one with bling?" She turned to Leslie.

" Bling and wear those diamond earrings I gave you. Put on those black heels. They will match the dress," Leslie said clearly trying to avoid that cycle.

" Okay," Shirley said after some though. She put on the earing and shoes before looking at herself in the mirror.

She had straightened her pink hair and one side was behind her ear while the other was left to flow freely .

She really looked beautiful. He was going to be flabbergasted, she thought narcissisticly. She was beautiful and she knew it.

Her phone rang and she looked at it to see it was Sebastian.

" I'm at the parking lot," he said the moment she answered. She smiled at that. Always straight to the point, she thought fondly.

" You can come up," she said. She already head his footsteps.

" Leslie, bye I'm going on a date," she said to Leslie who was looking at her.

" Are you gloating?" Leslie asked hearing the sarcasm.

" No silly. I know you are bitter for being single but you'll find your self a man soon," she said walking out of her room after hearing the door bell ring.

" You bitch," was the last thing she heard before shutting her bedroom door with a bang. She wasn't about to let Sebastian see the mess her bedroom was .

She walked to the door and opened.

Sebastian was standing there holding a bouquet of blue roses mixed with different other white flowers she didn't know.

He handed it to her the moment their eyes met, " to the beautiful lady," he said as she took it.

Shirley smiled widened.

He pulled her into an embrace. Shirley raised the hand that was holding the flowers up before hugging him. She didn't want them squished like the last time.

" Let me just put them in a jar then we can leave," she said after he released her and walked to the kitchen to look for a flower jar.

She found one in one of the cabinets and put some water in it before she put the flowers in the jar. She placed it on the kitchen counter and wiped her hands.

" You are absolutely perfect," hse heard Sebastian say. She had not even noticed him following her. He must have been watching her through the whole process.

" I know," she said walking towards him and giving him a small kiss on his cheek. He was really cute.

Sebastian didn't think that was enough, he pulled her by the waist and kissed her his tongue piercing her mouth and entangling hers.

They kissed for over a minute before he released her. She was breathing hard leaning against him.

" You ruined my lipstick," she said as she walked to the mirror in the living room and started to reapply and touch up. She also straightened her dress and her hair.

" Sorry," he said while looking at her. He wasn't sorry at all. She could hear it from his voice.

" You have it on your lips," she said pointing on the red lip stick smear on the corner of her lips. She walked to where he was standing and wiped it with her handkerchief.

Sebastian bent down so that she could wipe it better. He maintained eye contact with her while she wiped his mouth. She turned away and moved to his side.

" Let's go," she said holding onto his arm. Leading him forward. He smiled at her shyness and followed behind.

" So where are you taking me," she asked after settling into the car. It was almost seven in the evening.

They couldn't do a daytime date since Sebastian had been swarmed with work but she wasn't bummed out at all .

A dinner date was also ideal.

" It's a surprise," he said while trying her seat belt. He stole a quick kiss before he started the car.

He didn't come with a driver since he wanted to be alone with her. His words not hers, she had asked it.

" You are getting me excited, it better be surprise worthy," she warned him teasingly. She would be surprise even if he took her to a convenient store, she thought to herself in amusement. The joy of a new relationship, she mused.

" I'm pretty sure you'll love it," he said as she watched her apartment complex disappear into the night.

The city at night was always beautiful with the different light and everything. She just loved the nights in the city more.

Shirley looked outside on as they drove, the car had settled into a peaceful quite as each of them got lost in their thoughts.

" Are we going outside the city?" Shirley asked. She noticed that the buildings were decreasing and they had had been driving for a while. She had just been hypnotized by the night lights.

" Yes," he said but didn't add anything more.

She was now growing more curious. What had he planned? She thought to herself while glancing at him occasionally.
