Chapter 51 - The One Who Owns

The One Who Owns

Jet, Tony, and Tin stood still at the doorway.

No one dared to take another step.

Inside the room, a figure sat behind a desk — completely still.

Watching them.

The darkness inside the room was thicker than anywhere else they had been. It didn't just hide things… it swallowed them. The person's face wasn't visible at all, only a faint outline of a body sitting calmly, almost casually.

And yet—

The room itself was… perfect.

Too perfect.

Unlike the rest of the Darkside, which was broken, rotting, and filled with decay, this room looked untouched.

Clean.

Organized.

Every desk aligned perfectly.

The board wiped clean.

The air still.

It looked like a classroom frozen in time.

Or preserved.

Like someone didn't allow it to decay.

Jet narrowed her eyes.

"This place…" she whispered. "It's different."

Tony didn't respond.

His focus was locked on the figure.

Tin shifted slightly behind them.

"I don't like this," he muttered.

Before anyone could move—

The figure spoke.

"Oh…"

The voice echoed softly at first.

Deep.

Smooth.

Then it stretched into something darker.

"Look here… what do we have?"

The tone changed.

Playful.

Mocking.

"Some new invaders… in my space?"

A faint chuckle followed.

"What are you all doing here?"

A pause.

Then—

"Well… never mind."

The air grew heavier.

"Looks like I have some new toys to play with."

Jet felt her chest tighten.

Tony stepped forward slightly, his voice sharp.

"Who the hell are you?"

The figure leaned back slowly in the chair.

The darkness around him shifted slightly—

And for a brief second—

Two glowing eyes became visible.

Watching them.

"Me?"

The voice echoed again, almost amused.

"I am the Owner of this place."

The room seemed to react to his words.

The walls creaked softly.

The air vibrated.

"I own it."

The last word landed heavily.

Like a command.

Like a truth that could not be denied.

Tin felt his breath hitch.

Jet clenched her fists.

Tony didn't back down.

"So you're the one behind all this?"

The figure tilted his head slightly.

"You say that like it's something complicated."

A slow sound echoed—

The chair scraping against the floor.

He stood up.

And as he stepped forward—

The darkness didn't move away from him.

It followed him.

Wrapped around him.

Like it belonged to him.

Like it obeyed him.

"You walked into my world," he continued.

"You broke through my doors."

His voice lowered.

"And now you stand in front of me… asking questions?"

He stopped just a few steps away from them.

Still hidden.

Still unseen.

"But I like that."

Jet felt a strange chill.

Not fear.

Something worse.

Interest.

"You're different," the Owner said.

"Most people don't make it this far."

Tin spoke carefully.

"What do you want from us?"

The Owner chuckled softly.

"What do I want?"

He took another step closer.

"I already have everything I need."

Silence.

Then—

"You."

Jet's eyes narrowed.

"Yeah? And what are you gonna do with us?"

The Owner's voice dropped into something darker.

"Break you."

The lights flickered violently.

"For fun."

The floor beneath them trembled slightly.

Tony clenched his fists.

"You think we're scared of you?"

The Owner didn't answer immediately.

Then—

A soft laugh escaped him.

"No."

He paused.

"But you should be."

Suddenly—

The entire room shifted.

The clean classroom glitched.

For a split second—

The walls turned black.

The desks were broken.

Chains hung from the ceiling.

And screams echoed faintly.

Then—

Everything returned to normal.

Tin stumbled back.

"What the hell was that?!"

The Owner's voice came calmly.

"My reality."

Jet looked around carefully now.

"You're not just controlling this place," she said.

"You are this place."

The Owner didn't deny it.

"Smart girl."

Jet didn't react.

But her guard went even higher.

Tony stepped forward again.

"You've taken all those students."

"Yes."

"Why?"

A pause.

Then—

The Owner answered simply:

"Because I can."

Silence fell again.

That answer…

Was worse than anything else.

Somewhere Else — The Room of Chains

Pete sat beside one of the chained students, his jaw tight.

Noah stood close, watching everything carefully.

Roger and Kim, invisible to them, moved around the room slowly.

Observing.

Every detail.

Every crack.

Every chain.

Pete leaned closer to the boy who had been speaking.

"You said he has another name," Pete said.

The boy nodded weakly.

"Rex."

Noah frowned.

"What does that mean?"

The boy swallowed.

"It means… ruler."

A pause.

"King."

Pete's eyes darkened.

"King of what?"

The boy looked around the room.

At the chains.

At the trapped students.

"At this place."

Noah crossed his arms.

"So he sees himself as some kind of god."

The boy shook his head slightly.

"No…"

His voice dropped.

"He doesn't see himself as anything."

Pete frowned.

"Then what?"

The boy's eyes filled with fear.

"He just exists."

A deep silence followed.

Roger exchanged a glance with Kim.

That answer—

Felt wrong.

Or maybe…

Too right.

Pete leaned back slightly.

"So he just takes people?"

The boy nodded.

"He chooses them."

"Based on what?"

The boy hesitated.

Then said something that made everything worse.

"The ones who are… broken."

Noah's expression changed.

Pete's hands tightened.

Somewhere Deeper — Samy and The Voice

Samy walked beside the Voice in silence.

The deeper they went, the more unstable the Darkside became.

Walls twisted.

Floors shifted.

Shadows moved even when nothing was there.

"Rex…" Samy said suddenly.

The Voice stopped.

"You heard that name."

It wasn't a question.

Samy nodded.

"He calls himself that?"

The Voice looked ahead.

"He didn't give himself that name."

Samy frowned.

"Then who did?"

The Voice's expression darkened.

"The ones who feared him."

Samy's heartbeat quickened.

"What is he really?"

The Voice didn't answer immediately.

Instead, she said quietly:

"Not human."

A chill ran through Samy's body.

"Then what?"

The Voice finally looked at her.

And for the first time—

There was fear in her eyes.

"I don't know."

Across Everything — The Two Shadows

The black shadow and the white shadow clashed again.

Their movements faster now.

Stronger.

More violent.

Every hit sent waves through the empty space.

But something was different.

The black shadow paused mid-attack.

"That presence…"

The white shadow stepped back slightly.

"…it's him."

Silence.

For the first time—

Neither of them attacked.

The black shadow spoke quietly.

"He's fully awake now."

The white shadow looked toward the distance.

"Then everything is going to change."

A pause.

Then—

The white shadow stepped forward again.

"But first…"

Its voice sharpened.

"…we finish this."

The black shadow smirked.

"Finally."

They charged at each other again—

More dangerous than ever.

Back in the Room — Facing the Owner

Tony, Jet, and Tin stood their ground.

Even as the air grew heavier.

Even as the darkness around the Owner thickened.

Jet spoke first.

"You think you control everything here?"

The Owner tilted his head.

"I don't think."

A pause.

"I know."

Tony stepped forward.

"Then let's test that."

The Owner chuckled.

"Brave."

The lights went out.

Complete darkness swallowed the room.

Tin's voice broke through it.

"Tony?! Jet?!"

No response.

Just silence.

Then—

A whisper.

Right next to his ear.

"Let's play."

Tin froze.

Somewhere in the darkness—

Something moved.

And this time—

They weren't just inside the Darkside.

They were inside his game.
