Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

Ryan's POV

"You stupid idiot, you dare call me trash. I'm sorry I barged into your office, I thought it belonged to Ros...." The obnoxious, surprisingly gorgeous brunette screamed.

"Cut the crap, since you won't leave, someone will make you leave. I'm pretty sure you're one of those obsessed leeches pretending to not know how you got here."

My bodyguard, George, knocked four times so I know it's him.

For once she shut up real quick and glanced at the door.

"Come in, George."

The door twisted open and he stepped in with a black suit. The strange lady stepped aback a bit, clearly intimidated by my burly bodyguard.

"Where were you at that this," I gave her a quick glance, "thing came into my office."

"I apologise Sir, I needed to use the restroom." He then turned towards her. "You should leave, Ma'am." He gestured towards the door.

She remained silent, folded her hands and raised an eyebrow at him.

"Throw her out!" My stern voice reverberated round my large office space.

"What! No! Don't dare touch me." She screeched as my guard threw her over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.

"Then listen next time." George's deep, groggy voice chided her.

She hit his back with her tiny fist, "You're nothing but a filthy bastard!" She said, staring at me with so much hate in her eyes.

Finally, George walked out with her shutting the door on his way out.

"What crazy woman was allowed in here." I muttered to myself, shaking my head.

Just when I thought I had my peace and quiet, my door swung open abruptly and I knew exactly who it was.

"What's up, little Princess." Dave, one of my best friends and Chief Financial Officer of my company, had a little smile on his face and sat in the chair facing me.

I completely ignored him and concentrated on the work before me, not having time for his antics.

He snatched the stack of documents in front of me. "You think you can ignore me, workaholic?"

"What do you want, Dave?" I growled out in irritation.

"Came to take you out for lunch, and discuss the dinner we're having tomorrow night."

"I have too much work to do. Don't have time for this."

"Funny how you think you can get rid of me so easily."

"Give me back those documents, they're almost due to be sent out."

"Accept to go out for lunch with me and I'll give it to you after." He headed towards the door.

"Don't you dare…."

"Less I forget, who was that lady on George's shoulders?"

"Probably an obsessed admirer hoping to get my attention. She claimed that she entered my office by mistake."

"She's kinda hot though."

I rolled my eyes at his womanising ways, he had a new girl every week.

"I honestly don't know how you are able to hook up with so many women."

"I have the looks, money and sweet talk. You'd be surprised how much it works since you have a stick up your butt."

"Whatever, let's head out." His phone binged out loud. His eyes skimmed through it. "Ian is downstairs waiting for us, hurry."

The fool knows exactly how to make me leave and do what he wants. At least, Ian, our other best friend and Chief of Operations will be there to calm him down.

I took one last look at the mirror, I looked rather put together.

I am all suited up with some buttons undone showing off my broad build. My dark hair is gelled back to accentuate my look.

"Ryan!" My little sister, Rosalyn called out to me.

I stayed silent but walked out of my room to meet her.

"Didn't you hear me call your name?"

"What is it?"

"I've been unable to fix my necklace, please help me."

I heaved a sigh at how dramatic she is and helped her as she pushed her hair out of the way.

"Thank you, Roo."

I gave her a hard gaze and nodded. I always had a soft spot for her.

"By the way, did you throw anyone out of your office yesterday?"

I creased my forehead in confusion. "How did you know that?"

"What! You really did it then. She is my be..."

"Hello, grumpy pants." Dave's loud voice interrupted her. "Hi, my queen."

My sister smiled widely and her entire demeanor changed. "Hi, Dave." She then turned to me with a stern look. "We'll finish this later, I'll go with my driver."

She walked out briskly from the room on her long heels.

"Why didn't you just call me?"

He didn't seem to hear me but kept staring at where Rosalyn had just left.

I slapped him hard behind his head.

"Ouch, was that necessary?"

"Yes it was. Now pay attention to me, let's go." I began to walk towards the door heading out

"What about Rosalyn, isn't she coming with us?"

I raised my brows at him. "Why would she?" I folded my arms and paused

"I…I just thought she would."

"No, she's not coming with us. I'm pretty sure that Ian is waiting for us in the car."

"Whatever."

We walked quietly outside and Ian was in a grey suit leaning against his Bugatti Divo. He was infatuated with cars and this was his favourite.

"Hello, big man. Ready to meet the big shots?" Ian gave me a nudge on the shoulders.

I shrugged and gave him a sly smile.

My car, a Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail, was beside him and I unlocked the car using the keys. The idiot Dave hurriedly entered the car with me.

"Didn't you bring yours?"

"I felt like coming with you."

"Drive, George." My voice boomed behind the car.

We drove with Dave doing a lot of the talking and cackling on his own.

Finally, we got to the venue of the prestigious dinner with so many high society elites. Several cars were parked alongside me.

After stepping out, we waited for Ian who joined us.

Journalists stood at the entrance, trying their best to scavenge for the latest gossip.

"The Golden Trio, are here!" A nosy journalist screeched.

"Is it true that you're getting back with your old flame, Miss Monalisa Ericsson?" One of them said, attempting to push a microphone in my face.

George quickly intercepted, with another bodyguard of mine.

Jeez, I've always hated the press getting any information about me.

"They're here!" Various women whispered as we all walked in.

"The most eligible bachelors in New York City are here."

"Gosh, they're so handsome, especially Ryan, he's everything I've ever wanted."

The sound of someone hitting the microphone pulled our attention to the podium.

"Ladies and Gents, welcome to the prestigious dinner hosted by the Godfathers of our city. Enjoy your night, don't forget to socialise."

I was enjoying a glass of wine with Ian, while Dave had "miraculously" disappeared. I looked around and saw him trying to flirt with some high class women.

Ian chuckled at the sight of this. "He hasn't changed, hopefully he meets someone that will tie him down."

"Hopefully."

Ian's eyes lingered behind me for sometime. "Who are you staring at like that?"

"Who is that beauty?"

I turned but only saw her back, whoever she is, her curves fill perfectly in her red dress. Her brunette hair was full and wavy.

For the first time in a while, a woman has made my eyes linger.

"Ryan!" Charles, my largest investor, called out from across the room. "Come over, here." He gestured towards me with a soft smile.

I nodded and walked towards him with firm footsteps.

"I'm so glad to see you! We have so much to talk about." He then peered around. "I'd like you to meet someone."

"Okay, Sir."

He walked towards the same pretty lady with the red dress, she was backing us still.

He placed his hands against her shoulders, and she spinned around in seconds.

"I'd like you to meet my only daughter, Elena Thorn."

To my uttermost surprise, she is the same lady I threw out of my office yesterday.

"What!" Was all I could whisper in return.
