Chapter 129: An Unfriendly Exchange
A weathered hand grabbed Chris's wrist, attempting to lead him into the White House Oval Office.
However, upon reaching the entrance of the White House, Chris chuckled lightly, then slowly pulled his arm back.
During this process, Chris had to carefully control his strength to avoid hurting the supreme leader of the free world.
"What's...?" Bush Jr. looked up in confusion, gazing at the suddenly imposing Chris, not understanding what he intended to do.
The think tank, who also observed this scene, instantly grew tense, as those who had seen Family Guy were frantically explaining Chris's character traits.
"Oh crap! That guy's about to lose it!"
"Did he not get laid today? I remember this guy has a trait where he gets super irritable if his needs aren't met."
"Who the hell knows what kind of crazy this guy will pull? Haven't the Miss Universe contestants I requested arrived yet? You expect a bunch of old dudes to calm this guy down?"
"Damn it, how can I get those girls for you so quickly!"
The think tank members argued constantly, gradually shifting blame to each other, already showing signs of being a dysfunctional team.
Chris listened to the commotion from the distant room and their strategies against him, and for a moment, he truly found it both hilarious and annoying.
Because after careful thought, Chris realized that if they really did arrange a bunch of Miss Universe contestants to appease him, he might actually be appeased.
Shaking his head to clear those messy thoughts, Chris chuckled, "No need to be nervous."
"I just want to prove my strength to you, to determine who's going to run this conversation."
Looking at the puzzled Washington officials, Chris began to stretch while continuing to explain, "To avoid unnecessary BS, I think it's better to use the most direct violence to show you what real power is."
Hearing Chris's threatening statement, Bush Jr. quickly waved his hand, "Chris, what are you saying? Our experts have already analyzed your strength, and you can see our goodwill from our attitude, can't you?"
Although Chris had been in this world for a relatively short time and hadn't displayed much strength during that period.
But even those few displays of power were enough for the American government to conclude that in a domestic combat situation, they had no way to deal with Chris.
Because besides his superhuman movement speed, Chris also possessed a powerful heavy-caliber firearm with an unknown ammo capacity.
It was under this premise that the current peaceful scene came about.
Otherwise, given America's aggressive nature, they would've long since sent armed forces to capture Chris and extract useful information from him.
And based on his own experience, Bush Jr. naturally assumed Chris's display of strength would follow their usual playbook.
So to prevent the White House from becoming a bloodbath, he spoke up to explain, while also wanting to step forward and grab Chris's arm to stop his extreme behavior.
However, the reason he dared to do this was his genuine belief that Chris had a special fondness for him.
Although he wasn't clear about the origin of this fondness, driven by thoughts of his country and living up to his position, Bush Jr. still rushed forward.
But he was a scrawny old man, not even as heavy as one of Chris's arms, and approaching Chris so rashly, he nearly got knocked over by the strong wind generated when Chris stretched.
Seeing that Bush Jr. seemed to have misunderstood something, Chris stopped his movements and then steadied the old man who'd almost fallen.
In the Family Guy world, this guy had just been elected, but in this world, he was already in his final year.
Witnessing such a fascinating temporal difference, Chris was filled with emotion, which gave Bush Jr. the illusion that Chris had a good impression of him.
But at this moment, seeing Chris reach out to help him, Bush Jr. became even more convinced Chris did have a good impression of him.
However, before he could think about whether he could exploit this good impression, Chris said in a cold tone, "I've found there really is a mental barrier between people. No matter how I explain it to you, you'll always misunderstand and believe I'm going to do what you assume."
"So I don't want to explain anymore. You just do as I say. Otherwise, I'll blow all of you to hell!"
With that, Chris threw a light punch. The punch looked so weak, as if its speed had been deliberately slowed down for a kung fu movie.
But for Chris, he'd used all his muscles, wholeheartedly controlling his power to prevent it from leaking, so all the force would hit his target.
That target was the neatly manicured lawn in the distance, situated in front of the White House.
He was still dozens of yards away from the lawn, but as Chris's fist tore through the air, creating a white shockwave...
BOOM—
The shockwave, like an invisible cannonball, struck the lawn. In an instant, the entire lawn exploded, and dirt and grass flew everywhere.
After the massive dust cloud, mud droplets carrying shredded grass rained down from the sky, drenching everyone in the White House courtyard.
Bush Jr. stared blankly at the insane scene before him, until a slightly larger chunk of mud hit his shoulder, and only then did he speak as if snapping out of it, "I've said it before, we should be more hospitable to guests. Don't worry, I'll arrange a sports venue for you right away."
"Hmph~" Chris scoffed, looking at the BS-ing Bush Jr.
He truly was worthy of being president; his mind worked fast. Even now, he still wanted to use word games to placate him.
If Chris didn't have the ability to sense emotional states, allowing him to see that Bush Jr.'s emotions had remained stable from their meeting until now, he might actually have been fooled by this guy.
But since Chris had shown his hand, everything Bush Jr. did was transparent to Chris.
Therefore, the outcome was already decided, especially with Chris holding all the cards.
"The satellites should still be watching me, right?"
"What do you plan to do?" Sensing Chris's mood shift, Bush Jr. no longer hid his intentions. He looked at Chris with a serious expression.
"Didn't I say? To display my strength, to establish our respective positions, and avoid wasting time with endless BS." Seeing Bush Jr. drop the act, Chris spread his hands, sighing helplessly.
He really couldn't understand. Was communication between people really this difficult?
Or was it that humans from these normal worlds inherently had communication barriers with people from their Family Guy world?
Unable to figure it out, Chris slowly squatted down, then waved his hand, signaling the people around him to move further away.
After confirming no one else was within a dozen yards of him, Chris's thighs suddenly exploded with force, and he instantly leaped hundreds of yards into the air.
The moment he launched from the ground, the pavement beneath him also exploded, creating a sizeable crater, and the scattered debris struck several people who were closer.
However, everyone present was unconcerned with these details; they all looked up at the sky, intently staring at the superman who was walking through the air.
