Aurora's POV
I sat at the edge of a log while I faced Alzred and Alexis; they seemed to be having a family moment, as it brought back memories of my teenage age.
I wasn't only going to find out who killed my parents but also make them suffer.
I dashed into the house while my thoughts wandered. I searched for the sketch plan that Alzred had drawn earlier as I began to observe it closely.
At this moment, Alfred must have given up on me; he must have believed that I'm dead and that this was the perfect time to strike.
I hungered for revenge, making both him and Iza suffer. After everything we did for her, she chose to pay me back with evil and take away the first man that I learned to love.
"You shouldn't think of that anymore, but think about how to make our first move." It was Alfred's voice; he had read my mind again as he walked in.
"We should begin." I told him, anger written over my face.
"It isn't the right time, Aurora," he said.
"Right time? When is the right time?" I inquired, while my facial expressions disagreed with what he had just said.
"Just a few weeks ago, you saw some guards from your pack looking for you; how on earth do you think that they've forgotten about you in a short while?"
"But he ordered my death, and the guard saw me dying before he left. He would believe that I died." I told him.
"Do you think he's that dumb? Of course he'll send out orders to confirm your dead body, and when they don't find it, it will raise an alarm of suspicion." He tried to clear me.
"He's really evil! His wicked, he fucking ordered my death; he forgot about all the love we shared; he forgot about our memories." I yelled, crying. "And he didn't feel any guilt when he sent out orders to kill me."
"Come here." Alzred said as he hugged me, "You're strong and brave. When the time comes, fight like your life depends on it. Fight to bring glory and justice to your parents deaths. I might not be there, so I promise you, you would!"
I freed myself from the hug as I lingered my gaze on him.
"I've promised myself not to ask you anything, but those words you keep saying are leaving a hole in my heart. Why won't you be there?" I asked.
"I might decide not to go with you; I might decide to pay a visit to my pack one last time; you may never know what fate has restored for us, and that's why I need you to be strong."
Ryan's POV
It was close; I could see my life ending soon. My wolf was getting weaker day by day, and I was the one upholding him.
I couldn't promise her that I'd stay to the end; I could only promise her that I'd help her achieve her goals, and that's already what I was doing.
She tightened the hug as she rested her head on my shoulder. Indeed, she was a perfect girl, and I wondered how her first love could treat her with so much wickedness.
Alexis stood by the door, smiling at us as I smiled at us too. I'm sure she had a clue of what I was thinking because we shared a very strong bond until my parents were dismissed.
"Aurora, you should go have some rest now; you've been thinking a lot lately, and that's not advisable." I told her.
"Okay," she said, smiling at me as she laid down her head.
I made my way outside, and my thoughts lingered. I found myself sitting in the backwoods of a tree.
"How long do you intend to hide it from her?" Alexis asked, walking towards me.
"For as long as she's saved and not bothered by me." I responded, facing the lake in front.
"Well, I think she's bothered; I feel like she knows something about you that isn't right." Alexia said as she took her space to sit down.
"I have the same feeling, but I can't just bring myself to tell her; she's going through a lot currently."
"She'll understand; I can see that she's already in love with you."
"She still loves him, Alexis."
"Love who?" Her forehead wrinkled into a frown.
"Her first love," I answered.
"You must be joking; I can see it on her face." She opposed.
"I can see it in her eyes; I can hear it in her heartbeat. He is her first love, and it's normal. I'm surprised that you have no idea about first love." I laughed at her. "You should really find yourself a man."
"Alzred, that's not funny." She chuckled as she took a deep breath. "How much time do you have left, and how did you do it until now?"
"On the day she was stabbed, I was in the forest trying to take my own life when I began to hear someone struggling. At first, I thought it was some sort of animal, but it sounded so unlike, and I decided to check it out when I saw her lying almost dead."
A shocked expression was left on her face as tears rolled down her cheeks as I rested her head on my thighs.
"She's the reason I still got the chance to see you." She sniffed and raised her eyes to meet mine. "How long do you have?"
"Soon. I don't know the exact date, but soon, and that's why I want to seal all plans and promise me that you'll replace me and stand by her."
"I promise," she said, crying as she hugged me.
"Aurora!" She whispered as she pulled out of the hug, immediately wiping off the tears from her eyes stylishly. "What are you doing here?" Alexia forced out a smile while I stood to my feet.
