The rest of the day passed in a blur of routine tasks and distracted conversations.
Every time someone spoke to her, Hailey found herself responding automatically while her mind remained focused on Victoria's warning and the implications of Eric's hidden identity.
"Hailey, can you help me with this scene setup?" one of the crew members called out.
"Sure," she replied, moving mechanically to assist without really processing what she was doing.
"You're unusually quiet today," another colleague observed during lunch.
They were sitting at the crew table, eating sandwiches.
"Everything alright?" they asked.
"Just tired," she said, the same excuse she seemed to be giving everyone.
"You said that earlier," the colleague pointed out.
"Still tired," Hailey replied flatly.
By the time she left the set that evening, she had made a decision.
