Chapter 68 - Grey Knights

Terra has been reclaimed by the Imperium of Man, and the Emperor's light shines once more.

This means the Imperium of Man has gained a breathing spell, but things do not end there.

After the problems on Terra were resolved, the Imperium of Man now faces the vast territories lost in Imperium Nihilus.

Even a large number of planets believe the Imperium of Man has vanished; these are all matters Guilliman now needs to confront.

Without Noah, he would now need to launch an Indomitus Crusade to reclaim these lost lands, bringing the Imperium of Man back under the Emperor's control.

However, things are different now. The Imperial Warmaster, Sun Lord, is Noah, so Guilliman did not immediately act. Instead, he intended to contact Noah.

Guilliman thought this, so he went to look for Noah.

But each time, he stopped at the entrance of Noah's laboratory.

Noah had hung signs on his door saying 'No Entry for Idlers' and 'Do Not Disturb,' preventing anyone from interrupting his research.

Guilliman, of course, knew Noah's nature.

The research a scientist conducts is exceptionally important, so he visited Noah's laboratory door multiple times, yet never entered.

Just a ork farm had completely alleviated the food shortage on Terra.

So, Guilliman could not even imagine what kind of research Noah was currently undertaking.

Moreover, the Custodes guarding Noah's door would certainly not let him in.

Under these circumstances, Guilliman had no choice but to begin mobilizing Imperial warships as much as possible to prepare for Noah's upcoming Great Crusade.

If Noah was indeed preparing to launch an Indomitus Crusade.

The war machine of the Imperium of Man began to move under Guilliman's command.

He began coordinating with the Adeptus Mechanicus on Mars, urging them to produce enough weapons and maximize their output to prepare for the Great Crusade.

The current situation of the Imperium of Man is still not good. Although Terra has been recaptured by the Imperium, the situation remains dire.

Under these circumstances, Guilliman must effectively mobilize every weapon of the Imperium of Man, making all weapons and Forge Worlds exert their full power.

Only then might it be possible to pull the Imperium of Man back from the brink of death.

Of course, at this time, Guilliman's psychological pressure was not as immense as it would have been following the original timeline.

Every time Guilliman saw the 28 million PDF stationed on Holy Terra, his mood would improve significantly.

Such a number of Space Marines would undoubtedly effectively alleviate the predicament the Imperium of Man currently faced.

More importantly, before Noah entered the laboratory, he had already authorized him with command of this force, meaning Guilliman could now mobilize this force.

However, at this time, he was both assembling the fleet and waiting for Noah to emerge, so he did not mobilize the legions, merely having them stationed on Terra to solidify the Solar System's defense line.

While Guilliman was gathering his forces to prepare for the Indomitus Crusade, Noah was diligently researching his next-generation Psionic Legion technology.

The Terran Federation had too many technologies, so each set of technology had its own scientist for research.

Although Noah was a three-discipline scientist, he did not control all the technologies within the entire federation.

Top-tier technology, especially frontline military technology, required authorization from the Grand Marshal to unlock, which Noah currently lacked the ability to do.

So he could only research and bypass the firewall set up by the federation to access this military technology.

This was a very long process; it would take him a long time to achieve this.

Because the federation's military technology firewall was collaboratively built by their ten Level 10 scientists.

He had a way to crack this, but he lacked sufficient equipment to do so, making the process incredibly slow.

In addition to researching military technology, Noah was also researching how to better integrate his Psionic Legion with the forces of this universe.

Currently, in Noah's laboratory, there were a full 60 Psykers brought from Terra's Psyker Academy. Noah attempted to make them qualified Psionic Legion members.

But Noah failed —

His zelo ran out... Without a sufficiently pure psionic core energy as a prerequisite for infusion, he simply could not create qualified Psionic Legion members.

Under Noah's manipulations, the 60 Psykers from the Terra Psyker Academy merely became Grey Knights.

Although Grey Knights seemed decent on the surface, they were still too far from the Psionic Legion Noah needed.

He needed a legion that could gather all psionic energy, forming a massive psionic entity with him as its core, to launch a counterattack against the Chaos Gods.

What he had created now were merely enhanced versions of Grey Knights.

They possessed powerful resistance to Chaos, were almost impossible to be corrupted by the forces of Chaos, and their powerful psionic abilities also gave them great lethality against daemons.

Such a force could at most be deployed to counter daemon legions in reality, but attempting to bring them into the Warp to directly confront the Chaos Gods was impossible.

Noah's research hit a bottleneck. Originally, he wanted to research a Psionic Legion that didn't consume zelo, but it now seemed he had failed.

The current situation indicated he could only wait.

He had to wait for his colony to develop, then build zelo synthesis equipment to synthesize these high-level psionic cores.

Of course, though that was said.

Noah did not give up.

He continued to diligently research and brought in large numbers of Psykers from Terra's Psyker Academy.

When two months had passed in the blink of an eye, Noah finally gave up his research and walked out of the laboratory, leaving behind a full 18,000 failed Psykers.

Although these individuals did not become qualified Psionic Legion soldiers, Noah still successfully transformed them into one qualified Grey Knight after another.

At the same time, because they were soldiers despite their failure, Noah provided them with specialized Psionic Legion equipment.

For example, the Psionic Void Armor specifically equipped for the Psionic Legion, with a built-in enhanced psionic matrix that could increase the Grey Knight's combat power and psionic abilities by 200%.

The outer armor was also equipped with a psionic shield, used to resist Chaos incursions and defend against any attack.

Their automatic weapons still consisted of gauss rifles and power swords.

However, compared to other regular PDF, their weaponry, in addition to power swords, also included Disintegration Cannons.

These heavy weapons were also equipped by these failed Psionic Legion soldiers.

The combat power of this force surpassed that of regular PDF but was inferior to the Psionic Legion.

At this time, Noah did not know what to name them, nor how to arrange them.

A force of merely 18,000 people was too small; it was impossible to turn them into legions in terms of numbers, so Noah had no choice but to organize them into 6 Chapters.

When Noah left his laboratory, the first person he saw was Guilliman, who visited Noah every day.

He wanted to discuss the details of launching the Great Crusade with Noah, and on this day, he saw Noah, and also saw 18,000 replica Grey Knights walking out of his laboratory with him.

Of course, Guilliman couldn't recognize that those guys were similar to Grey Knights, but the Grand Master of the Grey Knights accompanying Guilliman did.

Especially since the Battle of Lion's Gate on Terra, they had been called back early by the Custodes and now they hadn't left, because they were staying to help Noah launch an Indomitus Crusade.

Although the Grey Knights didn't think Noah needed their help, Guilliman asked them to stay. In Guilliman's view, the Imperium of Man had to contribute something to the Great Crusade, right?

Even though Noah had a full 28 million Space Marines he could mobilize for this Great Crusade, it would be a bit unreasonable for the Imperium of Man to contribute nothing.

Was the only use of the Imperium of Man to mobilize the navy to cover the Space Marines?

This was naturally impossible, so Guilliman requested that the Grey Knights stay and participate in the upcoming Great Crusade that Noah might launch.

The Grey Knights naturally agreed to Guilliman's request, and thus the current scene unfolded: Guilliman and the Grand Master of the Grey Knights arrived together at the entrance of Noah's laboratory.

While Guilliman was happy to see Noah and discuss when to launch the Great Crusade, the Grand Master of the Grey Knights had already keenly noticed the soldiers behind Noah.

It was a feeling similar to their Grey Knights, like a group of professionals specifically dedicated to facing Daemons.

Looking at the almost ten thousand people behind Noah, the Grand Master of the Grey Knights was stunned.

Facing so many people, facing so many anti-Daemon experts, what was the role of their Grey Knights?

The Grand Master fell into deep confusion; he didn't understand their meaning.

But unlike him, Guilliman was happy. He quickly went forward.

"Sun Lord, you're finally out. Let's discuss when to launch the Great Crusade. I'm currently mobilizing the Imperial Army; this is the army we can mobilize right now."

As he spoke, Guilliman also sent all the documents to Noah's personal terminal.

The advantage of a personal terminal was that it was incredibly convenient for processing and sending documents.

Guilliman wished that this device could be popularized throughout the entire Imperium of Man, but for now, he could only dream.

Noah, who had just stepped out of the laboratory, had not anticipated this.

He had just left his laboratory, tragically ending his research project, and now he had to face the task of commanding the Imperial Army to launch the Great Crusade.

"I'm just a scientist, do I really have to command an army in battle?"

Noah's heart roared a little; he could command troops in battle, but he really didn't want to.

The Terran Federation, in general, usually expanded outwards in foreign wars, rarely needing to reclaim its own colonies.

More precisely, the Terran Federation had never lost a single colony on its path to rise, so there was no battle plan for how to reclaim its own colonies.

Generally speaking, the Terran Federation's foreign wars usually involved direct planet destruction.

The federation saw a planet.

The federation wanted to occupy it, to possess it.

Then it was simple: deploy Colossi and use a neutron flux to destroy all living organisms below.

After destroying all organic and living matter, the federation's second step was to terraform it into the planetary style the federation needed.

Generally speaking, this terraforming would transform it into a Gaia planet, because the federation had its sights set on this planet.

If they weren't interested in the planet, then it was even easier.

They would directly blow up the planet, then dispatch collection teams to gather the necessary resources.

The Terran Federation valued efficiency in foreign wars; they were xenophobic, so they didn't need to consider the fate of alien civilizations.

Even if there were a few fellow humans on an alien planet, they would simply send out the Psionic Legion to rescue them directly, and then still blow up the planet.

However, the situation the Imperium of Man faced now was different.

Those colonies were lost by the Imperium of Man, so the Terran Federation's battle plans were unreliable and unusable here.

Noah couldn't possibly command a Colossus to unleash a Planetary Devastation on its own planet, sending fellow humans along with it, could he?

Moreover, the Great Crusade was different from the tactics Noah had previously commanded for reclaiming colonies.

When he previously reclaimed colonies, he relied on massive armies for overwhelming strikes, but due to the multitude of targets in this Great Crusade, he couldn't do that.

As for transferring all fellow humans from a planet first and then destroying the planet, this operation was also meaningless in the current Imperium of Man.

Even after conducting experiments for so long, and even having some conversations with the Psykers.

Noah still couldn't quite understand how the Imperium of Man managed to cram populations ranging from billions to hundreds of billions onto these planets.

More importantly, the Imperium of Man had far too many planets; half of them were now lost. With so many planets, when would they ever be recovered?

For this, Noah felt an immense headache regarding the war he was about to launch.

Facing Guilliman's excitement, Noah merely dropped a hurried sentence and quickly returned to his laboratory.

"Guilliman, you can think about this matter; I don't know how to handle it. You can think about it; you're the professional."

After saying this, Noah returned to his laboratory, leaving only 18,000 replica Grey Knights behind.

After entering his laboratory, Noah seemed to remember something, opened the door, and instructed Guilliman outside.

"I'm entrusting these 18,000 Psykers to you. Although they cannot fight Daemons extensively in the Warp, they still possess a certain level of combat effectiveness in dealing with them."

"At least their combat effectiveness is similar to that of the Grey Knight next to you. I'm handing these people over to you; they are a total of 6 Chapters."

"Consider this force as my tithe of Astra Militarum to the Imperium of Man. Also, all PDF forces I have mobilized on Terra will also be under your command."

"In short, I authorize you with the command of the troops, Guilliman. How you command the troops is entirely up to you; I will not interfere."

This was Noah's declaration: he did not want to command troops in battle.

He didn't want to command troops in planetary surface combat; it was too taxing for him.

He was just a scientist; compared to this, he preferred to conduct research in his laboratory and remotely manage the development of his colonies.

The mess on the Imperium of Man's side could be left to Guilliman.

Noah left, closing his laboratory door once again.

Only a bewildered Guilliman was left, staring at the laboratory door that had closed again, and the 18,000 Psykers whose gazes were fixed on him.

What was I here for again? I think I was supposed to discuss with Noah how to launch the Great Crusade, right?

How is it that Noah disappeared after only a few words, leaving only these 18,000 Grey Knights behind?

As the imperial regent, Guilliman's mind worked very quickly, so after Noah said he was handing these 18,000 people over to him, he had already proactively classified them as Grey Knights.

"Forget it, forget it, it wasn't a wasted trip.

Didn't I just get another 18,000 Grey Knights?"

Although Guilliman didn't achieve his desired goal, he had gained 18,000 Psykers, so his mood was still quite good.

Comforting himself in his mind, he pulled away the Grand Master of the Grey Knights, who was still on the side, not yet having fully processed what had happened.

Now it was time to discuss how to expand the Grey Knights.

Guilliman slowly departed.

He arrived empty-handed, but left with 18,000 Grey Knights.

And, incidentally, the Grey Knight Grand Master beside him, who was utterly bewildered.

Grand Master Arderic Vodus of the Third Brotherhood, who had come to Terra to assist the Custodes in battle, still hadn't fully recovered his senses.

He had heard Guilliman speak of Noah's outrageousness for some time, but he never imagined it could be this outrageous.

The Grey Knights.

A special unit of the Imperium, their Primarch is the Old Man in Yellow.

This unit was created by the Old Man in Yellow using his own genes; their expansion is extremely difficult.

They cannot expand like regular Space Marine Chapters; their numbers grow extremely slowly and are controlled.

Their requirements are extremely high, demanding a psionic level of Beta or above, absolute willpower, and no traces of Chaos corruption.

Even if these conditions are met, only one in ten million qualified individuals can pass the 666 Rites of Detestation to become a Grey Knight.

This makes replenishing Grey Knight battle losses arguably the most challenging among all Chapters.

After a high-intensity campaign, it might take decades or even centuries to return to full strength.

They never expand their forces; they only replenish their ranks.

Their numerical growth is one of the Imperium's most precise resource allocations; every new recruit is a chosen one, filtered from billions of beings across the galaxy.

And now, this Grey Knight Grand Master could feel that the psionics soldiers opposite him seemed no different from their Grey Knights.

Like the Grey Knights, they possessed powerful psionic abilities and were equally immune to Chaos corruption.

The only difference was that their genes did not originate from the Emperor.

Therefore, theoretically, they could not achieve immortality.

These ordinary Grey Knights, created by Noah, had extremely short lifespans, only a mere 2,100 years.

Unless their lives were extended through other life-prolonging surgeries, these Grey Knights would only live for 2,100 years.

This difference in lifespan was something the Grey Knight Grand Master could naturally perceive.

But was a difference in lifespan important to the Grey Knights?

Not at all.

The various wars the Grey Knights experienced meant that casualties were inevitable.

In this chaotic universe, no one can guarantee how long they will survive.

No one knows whether tomorrow or an accident will come first.

Theoretically, they are immortal, but when the Imperium needs them, they must commit to war and sacrifice for the Imperium.

Sacrifice is the cornerstone of this Imperium.

As Grand Master of the Third Brotherhood, Arderic Vodus still hadn't fully reoriented his mind.

Guilliman, however, did not share this sentiment. He had witnessed too many miracles.

Since Noah had entrusted these psionicss to him, it meant he could arrange them as he pleased.

Before leaving, Noah had told him that these were also anti-daemon psionics specialists, so they could naturally be re-integrated into the Grey Knight forces.

The Grey Knights are an effective force; their anti-daemon capabilities are indeed unparalleled in the Imperium, but their numbers are simply too small.

Now that Noah had provided more people for replenishment, why wait to expand the Grey Knight army?

Guilliman led Arderic Vodus back into a secret chamber, and then the two sat solemnly at a table.

"Grey Knights, I think we can expand now. Since Noah has provided so many qualified psionicss, it's time to expand the army."

During the time Guilliman had brought him over, Arderic Vodus had already anticipated that the Primarch would propose such an idea on the way.

Therefore, after Guilliman finished speaking, the Grey Knight Grand Master immediately nodded in agreement.

Why not?

If the Imperium's Grey Knights wanted to acquire so many, a full 18,000 people, how long would it take?

It might not even be possible in ten thousand years.

And now, there were a full 18,000 people before them, almost all of whom were qualified Grey Knights.

Of course, that being said.

As an elite unit of the Imperium and its last safety valve, the Grey Knights cannot be joined so easily.

"Regent, I understand that you have great faith in the Solar Lord's scientific technology, and therefore you won't consider other factors, but as the Grand Master of the Grey Knights, I feel I must."

"To join the Grey Knights, they must also undergo the Grey Knights' 666 Rites."

"This is our bottom line, to ensure they do not fall to Chaos, even if Lord Noah can guarantee that these individuals cannot be corrupted by Chaos, it is still the case."

"At the same time, we also need to test their willpower. I am aware of the scientific power possessed by Lord Noah."

"His power is even acknowledged by the Emperor, so I naturally recognize it.

However, whether the willpower of these psionicss is firm is also a question."

"Theoretically, I can feel that these psionicss cannot be corrupted by Chaos, but I still believe their willpower must be tested."

"Even the strongest external fortress can be dismantled from within; if their willpower is not firm enough, then their will will certainly be shattered."

"Agreed," Guilliman readily assented.

"However, your willpower test needs to be conducted first. These individuals are powerful psionics soldiers, and equally powerful warriors.

Even if they cannot join the Grey Knights, their strong resistance to Chaos is enough for them to participate in any war."

"I cannot have a group of them squandered by you before they have even been deployed in Chaos combat. I need to ensure they can be used on the battlefields where the Imperium needs them most right now."

Arderic Vodus nodded in agreement, acknowledging that the troops provided by Noah were indeed formidable.

Even if they couldn't become Grey Knights and go to the most dangerous Chaos battlefields, they could certainly become pillars on ordinary battlefields.

The Imperium now needed every bit of its strength to be utilized, with no room for extravagance.

While Roboute Guilliman was preparing for his Indomitus Crusade, Noah once again brought 600,000 psykers into his laboratory.

Alright, since a psionic Legion couldn't be created, for now, a batch of ordinary Grey Knights would do.

Noah wasn't just conducting research; he also delved into the history of the Imperium, where he came across a conflict known as the Webway War.

The Warp daemons had actually attacked the capital of the Imperium. Although the Imperium was on the defensive, ultimately, it was humanity that was being attacked, which filled Noah with a sense of humiliation.

Just as Nurgle's previous attack had humiliated him, seeing his fellow humans in the Imperium suffer such an assault now also brought a similar feeling of disgrace to Noah.

Warp daemons? What are they?

For such beings to dare directly attack the human capital, what else could it be but an utter contempt for the entire human race?

Noah felt it was necessary to launch a Webway War against the daemons to wash away the humiliation suffered by the Imperium.

And what was needed for combat within the Webway?

Of course, it was a psionic Legion. Although the psionics Legion he had previously created wasn't truly a psionic Legion in the traditional sense,

their combat capabilities were still superior to those of the PDF fighting in the Webway.

Unlike ordinary PDFs that could be mass-produced by colonies, this kind of psionics Legion still needed Noah's personal attention.

A new expansion drive began. Noah planned that within the next month, he must produce around 600,000 Grey Knights, and then mobilize approximately 8 million PDF troops to launch an attack on the Webway.

He wanted to see if he could clear out the daemons within the Webway. Even though Noah knew these daemons would eventually resurrect after being destroyed, this hatred and shame had to be avenged.

Just as Noah was mass-producing troops, preparing to strike hard at the daemons, Roboute Guilliman had already received authorization from Noah.

Noah had granted command of the forces to Guilliman, who now faced the task of fully launching a crusade under his leadership.

Or rather, he would handle all the preparations, and Noah would support him from behind.

Although Guilliman really wanted to say that this was Noah's job and had nothing to do with him, when Noah handed him this task, he still didn't refuse.

This wasn't Noah's job; he was just a scientist. Although he had been appointed Lord Solar by the Emperor, everyone knew this wasn't his primary role.

Guilliman had to shoulder his responsibilities, and so he began to prepare for the Great Crusade.

The Imperium needed to swiftly launch the Great Crusade to rescue Imperial worlds across the stars that were under enemy attack and affected by the Great Rift.

Time was critical.

Every hour of delay now would mean more planets falling and countless Imperial citizens dying. But the first problem to solve was stabilizing the Warp passages in the Sol System.

Warp travel was one of, if not the most, crucial means of travel for the Imperium, so Guilliman had to secure the last Warp nexus planet, Voloris.

If Voloris could not be held, the Sol System would be completely sealed off.

This planet was of paramount importance.

With the help of Khorne's daemon legions, Abaddon, the Warmaster of Chaos and leader of the Black Legion, had successfully captured seven of the Warp nexus points.

He had deployed what appeared to be corrupted Blackstone constructs on these worlds, thereby blocking the surrounding Warp lanes.

Therefore, the last Warp nexus planet, Voloris, absolutely could not be lost.

Now, with political issues resolved with Noah's help, and having reassembled over 28 million Space Marines, Guilliman decided to personally lead a fleet to Voloris to provide support to the Imperial forces there.

The Imperium didn't have many fleets that could be mustered at the moment, so Guilliman couldn't take out many Space Marines. After careful calculation, he decided to only bring 1 million Space Marines.

Among them, he brought all of his Ultramarines, as he found their successor chapters the easiest to command.

At the same time, he also didn't want Noah to misunderstand, to think that with Noah's support, the Imperium would be unwilling to send out its own troops.

He didn't want the Imperium to fall out with Noah, because he knew very well that Noah was the last hope, and the only hope, for the Imperium at this time.

1 million PDF troops began boarding the naval vessels prepared by the Imperium.

Simultaneously, some Space Marines from the Ultramarines and Imperial Fists also boarded these transport ships. They were about to launch the first operation of this crusade.

Just as Guilliman had finished the troop deployment and was about to depart, Noah once again emerged from his laboratory.

Led by his PDF, Noah arrived before the departing Guilliman.

"You stay. You stay on Terra and handle internal affairs. This was the decision made by that Golden Big Guy when he assigned our respective roles."

"War is my responsibility, not yours."

As a top-tier Level 10 scientist of the Terran Federation, Noah always maintained his high sense of responsibility and moral integrity.

It was because of his strong sense of responsibility that he couldn't shirk his duties.

Even when he was in the midst of scientific research, the same applied.

He would absolutely not admit that, between solving the Imperium's political and internal affairs and leading troops to fight outside, Noah chose the latter.

"You should know that I'm not clear on how to manage the Imperium's governmental affairs. You are the most knowledgeable about that. I don't want to deal with your more than 100 billion Interior Department officials."

Speaking of this, Noah almost laughed in anger; he clearly wanted to curse.

But in the end, he moved his lips and stopped himself.

"Sometimes I really want to curse you all. How did you manage to cram so many people onto such a small planet? Even for just this one planet, your Interior officials combined would require a staggering 200 billion Interior Department officials."

"Leave the internal affairs to you, and the war to me. Although I am just a scientist, purely in terms of power, you are not my equal.

In terms of military command and combat, I'm not sure if I'm better than you, but I can certainly say my brain is better than yours."

Noah spoke very directly, stating that his brain was better than Guilliman's.

Of course, this statement was indeed accurate.

He was a Level 10 scientist; his brain itself was equivalent to a super-powerful quantum computer.

Although he wasn't skilled in commanding battles, in small-scale engagements, he could perfectly simulate all the battlefield details in his mind and run countless scenarios in less than two minutes.

As long as Noah had enough data for analysis, he would not fear commanding any troops in battle, because he had an abundance of fault tolerance.

Noah turned and left, preparing to board his cruiser. Why should he personally participate in this war?

One of the reasons was also because of his cruiser.

The battleship he brought from the Terran Federation was far superior in combat power to the battleships of the Imperium. Deploying this battleship would definitely give them an advantage in the war.

Just as Noah was about to board his battleship, he seemed to remember something and said to Guilliman,

"When I'm gone, remember not to let anyone else into my lab. The small program I set up there will tell you what supplies they need.

Try to coordinate with the Ministry of the Interior to deliver the supplies to them."

"I can tell you that I've prepared 600,000 Grey Knight troops in there. Once this force is assembled, I plan to launch an offensive against the Chaos Gods of the Warp, tying up their main forces and buying time for the Great Crusade across the galaxy."

Scientists may not be good at fighting wars, but he certainly possessed a certain strategic vision.

At this time, Chaos Gods were everywhere, waging wars across the galaxy and encroaching upon human territory.

Their scale was simply too vast, and the Imperium's scale was also too vast. To reclaim all the lost territories of the Imperium and prevent the invasion of Warp Daemons, the Imperium would inevitably be stretched thin.

Noah's mind was now filled with the military situation of the Imperium. After careful assessment, he clearly understood that

the Imperium did not have enough military strength to cope with this large-scale catastrophe; they had too many enemies.

Even if Noah handed over all his PDF to the Imperium's command, it would be useless. No matter how many Space Marines there were, they would be insignificant for such a vast empire.

The Space Empire's most important strength lay in its navy; as for forces like the Space Marines, the ground forces actually did not hold a dominant position.

Noah, through the military comparisons in his mind, could put it this way:

When the enemy has eliminated the Custodes, Space Marines, Sisters of Silence, Battle Sisters, and all other such forces, then he could congratulate the enemy.

Congratulate them on eliminating 1% of the Imperium's military power—

This vast nation, the Imperium, did not truly rely on special forces like the Space Marines, Sisters of Silence, or Custodes.

Their true reliance was on the massive PDFs and the untold numbers of the Astra Militarum.

And among these forces, the most important was the Imperial Navy.

In space, the navy's position was always paramount, as it represented the ability to deploy various armies.

This Warp anomaly had dealt a devastating blow to the Imperium; they had lost a large number of warships.

Therefore, the Imperium did not have enough navy to transport its various forces to where they needed to go.

To be honest, Noah didn't think those ancient ships of the Imperium, which had been in use for thousands of years, would be of much use.

He also couldn't understand what was going on with this civilization; why did they still use battleships from thousands of years ago?

But even so, Noah could confidently tell everyone that the Imperium's warships currently around the Sol System were insufficient, insufficient to reclaim the lost territories of the Imperium.

So, what should be done when there aren't enough troops?

What should be done when there isn't enough transport capacity?

Naturally, the enemy's offensive rhythm must be delayed.

After studying various star charts and strategic locations, Noah finally discovered the Webway.

He sent troops to actively attack the Webway. Those Chaos Daemons would have to send troops to block these legions attacking them.

As long as the scale of battle in the Warp was large enough, the Daemons would not have enough forces to launch a full-scale offensive against the Imperium's territory.

This would buy time.

As a human, as a human with high moral standards, Noah felt that he should do something for the human race.

He could not watch his human compatriots die innocently.

He could not watch his human compatriots being massacred by daemons.

This did not align with the standards of the Imperium, nor did it align with the principles of the Terran Federation.

All the hatred and tears of blood brought by these daemons had been meticulously recorded by Noah.

One day, he would eliminate all four of these guys, make them pay a sufficient price for everything they had done, and become nourishment for human development!

Of course, achieving all of this required time and development, so dealing with the Ministry of the Interior was unavoidable.

But the Imperium's Ministry of the Interior... Thinking of this, even though Noah was already on his battleship, he couldn't help but shiver.

This bizarre Imperium's unwillingness to use AI led to its internal affairs system being abnormally bloated.

Noah had once tried to propose a motion himself and then let the Imperium's Ministry of the Interior review it.

From the time he started building the Webway until now, preparing to support Voller, five months had passed, and the Ministry of the Interior hadn't even processed the paperwork.

And that was based on the fact that he was the Solar Lord, so at least the paperwork was being processed.

Noah's powerful brain told him that to complete all the procedures, even if he was the Solar Lord and constantly urged this idiotic Ministry of the Interior, it would still take at least five years.

And if he wasn't the Solar Lord... if he wasn't the Solar Lord, this process could take at least 200 years.

And this was still under the condition that he was a high-ranking Imperial official. If he was just an ordinary governor, then 500 years might not even yield a result.

Noah couldn't even imagine governing the Imperium with such a bunch of garbage.

Therefore, compared to staying in the Empire and taking over Guilliman's duties to govern the Empire,

Noah was now more willing to lead troops out to wage war and reclaim the Imperium's territory.

After all, doing experiments, whether in the lab or on a battleship, was still doing experiments.

Anyway, for a Level 10 scientist, none of this made any difference.

Noah left, and he led the expeditionary fleet away, after all, he was the true Solar Lord.

So, no one had any objections to the orders he issued.

The 28 million Space Marines were Noah's greatest leverage.

Although the Imperium also obeyed the Emperor, one's own strength was the true leverage.

It wasn't until Noah led his army directly away, disappearing from the orbit of Holy Terra, that Guilliman finally came to his senses, digesting the various shocking news he had received with a bewildered expression.

After absorbing a series of messages, Guilliman keenly grasped the most important news: there were still a full 600,000 Grey Knight troops being cultivated in the laboratory.

Excellent! Excellent!

If only Noah had appeared in the Imperium during the Great Crusade, what great achievements could the Imperium not have accomplished?
