Chapter 47 - Marshal

When the last resistance of Chaos was completely destroyed, the Imperial forces and Noah's troops faced off against each other.

The Imperial forces were bewildered, unsure where this mysterious army had come from, as they bore no insignia of the Imperium.

Yet, as they confronted Noah and his forces, the Imperial soldiers were drenched in cold sweat, every one of them consumed by fear.

The Chaos army, which had surged like a tide, had been utterly annihilated by this new force.

Even the twenty Space Marines were casually swatted away like stray dogs by these newcomers.

What immense combat power was this?

The combined forces of the Imperial army were uncertain if they could withstand an assault from this enigmatic army.

A stalemate ensued, and during this standoff, Noah stepped forward.

"I sense the Emperor's aura emanating from someone among you, so I've come to investigate."

"The one with wings on his back—yes, I'm talking to you—step forward."

"I have a question for you—"

Saint Celestine heard Noah's call.

She looked left and right, then stepped forward to face Noah.

"I know you are an apostle chosen by the divine being known as the Emperor.

Please tell me how I can find this deity; I have matters I need to discuss with him."

At this point, Noah had abandoned all pretense.

He had given up on his initial strategy of blending into the Imperium and was now laying his cards on the table.

The constant threat from Chaos had left him utterly exhausted.

He needed more power, but where would it come from?

Although he hadn't yet unlocked military technology, Null-Armour could sometimes be classified as civilian technology; indeed, some specialized models fell within the civilian scope.

More importantly, the best way to confront the Warp Gods was with psionics counterattacks.

Therefore, he sought the Empire's aid to create a psionic legion, like the Zeluote.

As long as he could raise a few more psionics legions, he would be able to contend with the Chaos Gods.

He absolutely had to find that green blob and fight him.

Noah felt a deep sense of injustice and an urge to thoroughly beat that guy; he couldn't tolerate this grievance any longer.

This was Noah's original plan: he wanted the Emperor's assistance.

He needed the Emperor's help to cultivate a psionic legion, but his words were interpreted very differently by the Imperial forces.

Who was the Emperor?

The Emperor was the Lord of Mankind.

The Imperium referred to him as the God-Emperor, and now someone was calling him by his direct title.

The human Imperial forces glared at Noah with anger, but Saint Celestine was different; she had received a revelation from the Emperor.

"Esteemed..."

Celestine paused.

She hadn't considered how to address Noah.

She had only received a revelation from the Emperor, telling her that this person before her was a beacon of hope, a being he valued.

This was her own interpretation.

But while the Emperor had conveyed more, she couldn't comprehend it.

Even though the Emperor had regained some of his humanity, it was so minuscule that he couldn't clearly express his intentions to these people.

"You may call me Grand Marshal," Noah stated.

"Understood, Grand Marshal.

I have received a revelation from the Emperor.

Can you protect us on our journey to Macragge?"

"Everything you seek, the one on Macragge, once awakened, will be able to answer all your questions and resolve your troubles."

"This is the Emperor's will.

What is your decision?"

Noah pondered.

Since he was already here, why not follow the Emperor's will and see what happened?

After all, the Emperor had saved him earlier.

"Certainly, no problem.

But can you tell me who I am to seek on Macragge?"

Celestine replied, "The Thirteenth Primarch of the Imperium, Lord of Macragge, Father of the Ultramarines, Roboute Guilliman."

"Very well, let us depart then.

Have your people prepare.

I will take you directly to Macragge; your warships are too slow."

No sooner had Noah spoken than he was met with opposition from the Ultramarines.

"No, absolutely not!

We cannot allow such a stranger, and a mysterious one at that, to proceed to Macragge.

This is a threat to the Ultramarines, and the Ultramarines will never compromise!"

The Ultramarines were a chapter renowned for their rationality, but their rationality completely failed them when it came to their Primarch.

They could not tolerate such a powerful force and such a mysterious individual appearing on Macragge to threaten their Primarch.

The situation seemed to devolve into a standoff at this moment, but Noah clearly had no intention of wasting words with them.

He extended a hand, and powerful psionic energy seized the three Ultramarines.

"In recognition of your fight for humanity, I will not kill you.

But since your deity has spoken, it would be best for you to obey."

"You should be grateful that your status as humans and your service in fighting for humanity have preserved your right to speak with me.

Otherwise, you would vanish like those Chaos Daemons."

Perhaps he had been in this universe for a bit too long.

Noah was no longer the individual with lofty moral standards he had been when he first arrived in this universe; now, he resorted to using his power to threaten others.

The sudden change caused the Imperial Guard to quickly raise their weapons.

But the PDF opposite them was even faster; a large number of 'cans' appeared before the Imperial Guardsmen and disarmed them directly.

With strength many times exceeding human limits, these ordinary PDF troops were vastly superior to the Imperial Guard.

The situation seemed to be brought under control once again at this moment.

However, this kind of control was not what Dorne Corleone and Saint Celestine wanted to see.

Both the Ultramarines and the local PDF units had been subdued.

"Alright, everyone, let's not waste any more time.

Board the warships now, and I will take you to Macragge."

"As for these people, I will naturally not harm them.

They are, after all, still human citizens.

As long as their souls remain human, their lives will not be wantonly taken."

The Ultramarines were lifted high, then set back down on the ground, and this time they made no further rash moves.

"I know your rules.

Now, go and report to your Chapter Master, lest you mistake us for invaders.

I do not wish to fight you."

"I do not wish for what should be a peaceful matter to become a bloody incident.

So, please proceed with your notification now."

Noah's words left no room for negotiation; they were entirely a command.

Although the Ultramarines were greatly displeased by this, they ultimately complied.

What else could they do?

If they died here for no reason, the planet would fall, and it would be meaningless for the entire Ultramarines Chapter.

One Ultramarine went to relay the message, while another stepped forward and spoke.

"Although we cannot stop you, if possible, please allow us to accompany you to Macragge.

This is our duty."

Noah was not an unreasonable person, and he nodded in agreement to this request.

"No problem, I won't make things difficult for you."

"Your cooperation is naturally for the best, but this planet still needs to be defended.

Therefore, I will leave a unit here to guard it."

"According to your standards, I will leave a company of PDF troops here for defense."

After saying this, Noah ceased conversing and turned back into his drop pod.

Numerous drop pods quickly ascended again and returned to the cruiser.

The next second, a large number of shuttlecraft flew out from the cruiser, preparing to pick up these people.
