Chapter 31 - Ork

The genestealer cults had been dealt with, leaving only the orks outside the city.

Once those orks were eliminated, this planet would truly fall into his hands, and he could finally settle down to farming without the constant worries he had now.

However, while the genestealer cults inside were easy to deal with, the orks outside were not. Noah was currently staring dumbfounded at the orks outside the city.

Realizing they couldn't breach the defenses, some unbelievably resourceful orks among them had somehow built giant weapons.

Noah, watching the more than 40 colossal war machines emerge from the ork camp through his observation equipment, felt a sense of shock.

These things had no unified format or standard; they looked more like a hodgepodge of cobbled-together, chaotic war machines.

But they had the advantage of being massive and seemingly possessing immense defensive capabilities. Now, ordinary lasgun fire could no longer take down these giant war machines with a single shot.

These colossal war machines looked like towering giants, equipped with powerful weapons and heavy armor.

The fact that lascannons couldn't take down these things in a single shot was already telling; if even lascannons couldn't destroy them instantly, it proved their defenses were indeed formidable.

Besides these, there were also some units even larger than ordinary mechanical constructs, seemingly called 'Super Giants'.

Compared to the ordinary giants that at least lascannons could still deal with, these Super Giants had even tougher defenses, and their retaliatory firepower was also stronger.

They were equipped with heavy laser cannons, rocket launchers, and flamethrowers.

The appearance of so many giant war units outside the hive city made Noah feel a bit troublesome and puzzled, wondering how these things actually moved.

Of course, it was only slightly troublesome; after all, for ork combat units, he could just use a psionic slap to flatten them.

But the most important thing was that as a scientist, when he saw such unscientific things appear, Noah's first instinct was to understand them, to figure out what these things really were.

However, every time he acquired one of the orks' giant war machines, he couldn't research anything from it; the thing was just a pile of scrap metal.

It was like a kitten scratching at Noah, making his heart itch.

"Governor, the orks launched a total of 46 attacks today. They deployed over 60 giant war machines, but all were destroyed by us. We recovered 6 of them; please take a look."

The PDF, personally assembled by Noah, moved these giant ork weapons to the entrance of the governor's Palace, and Noah once again routinely stepped out, ready to study these things.

But this time was no different from before; after meticulous research, Noah still came to the conclusion:

These things were just piles of scrap metal, completely devoid of any research value. No one knew how they actually moved.

After completing his research for the day, Noah once again walked back into the governor's Palace and began unlocking his military technology.

This kind of life had been going on for a full 16 days since the genestealer cults were dealt with. For these 16 days, Noah had lived like this.

As for why he only fought within the city and didn't launch a counterattack against the orks, Noah could directly answer:

His army was still in training, and his mechanical legions were still being manufactured.

This was a planet, a planet about 1.5 times the size of Earth. This planet was truly vast, with its land area accounting for 68% of the entire planet.

On such a massive planet, if he couldn't amass enough troops, then trying to eliminate the orks on this planet would be extremely difficult.

After all, these things were like fungi, and their technology defied all logic; they could simply piece together a bunch of random items and use them as weapons.

More importantly, their combat will was incredibly high.

Noah was not unaware that simply eliminating the ork boss would throw the orks into disarray, but the problem was that this generation's ork warlord was quite cunning.

Yes, cunning. Noah felt that this word was appropriate to describe that ork boss.

He had already dispatched his bodyguard robots four times to assassinate that ork warlord.

But each time, the fellow managed to narrowly escape; he always managed to evade capture.

Even during battles, he didn't charge at the front like ordinary orks; instead, he commanded his ork army from the rear.

Under such circumstances, even if Noah wanted to cause chaos among the orks by beheading their leader, he couldn't do it.

However, such days wouldn't last much longer. He only needed to wait two more months. In two months, his PDF troops would be fully prepared.

At the same time, 10 million gauss rifles currently in production would roll off the assembly line.

Not to mention other unique Imperial Guard armaments like Basilisk artillery, Plasma Destroyer tanks, and Chimera transports.

In addition, this hive world could also produce a heavy tank unique to the Imperium of Man: the Baneblade.

Under Noah's intervention and improvements, a total of 1,400 Baneblade super-heavy tanks were produced for offensive use.

The reason only 1,400 were produced was mainly because Noah needed more resources to build his mechanical legions; tanks were just something to have.

If not for the fact that Terran Federation tanks couldn't be built with the current Imperial industrial system, Noah wouldn't have needed to build Imperial tanks.

Even the civilian versions of Terran Federation tanks couldn't be manufactured by the Imperium's current dilapidated industrial system to any acceptable standard.

In addition, some Imperial flying units were also being continuously manufactured by Noah.

It must be said that Imperial weapons were not without their advantages.

Their biggest advantage was that they were cheap and durable. Compared to Terran Federation weapons, which required high-value alloys or high-value minerals to build, Imperial weapons were simply too cheap!

The army was being prepared; with time, the orks outside would naturally be doomed.

Noah knew this well, so he waited patiently, waiting for the army to complete its reorganization and then launch a full-scale assault on the day of the offensive.

Noah was patient, while the orks fought with great glee.

For them, fighting was something that made them feel good.

Although they had been consistently suffering losses against the human hive city, they still felt great.

Every night after fighting, the orks would hold feasts to celebrate, drinking mushroom beer and toasting each other for the very satisfying Waaagh! of the day.
