Chapter 17 - Population

Alright, at this point, Noah had decided he wanted to rebuild the federation, but how could he do it alone?

The most important thing for a civilization is its people, and he lacked people.

He came here alone; he simply didn't have enough people.

At most, he could get some robots for himself, but a civilization couldn't be rebuilt by relying on robots.

Noah was a bit flustered now, but he quickly turned his attention to this Hive World.

Perhaps this world could be his starting point, serving as the foundation for the federation's revival?

Thinking this, Noah brought up a three-dimensional holographic image of the entire planet.

On the image was a number that changed constantly: the population count.

Noah had already obtained the population data for the entire Hive World.

The total population on this planet had exceeded 40 billion people!

40 billion—what an incredibly crowded planet.

It was only because their Hive City was so unique; if it were truly built to federation standards, 40 billion people simply wouldn't fit on this single planet.

With the 40 billion population marked on his system, Noah dismissed the idea of trying to take over this Hive World.

There were too many people; he felt he might not be able to handle it.

While Noah was repeatedly agonizing over this, the psionics he had left on the Krieg soldier was triggered.

Because his psionics was triggered, Noah's consciousness quickly appeared at the location of that soldier.

What met his eyes was a group of green mushroom-like creatures charging towards the Krieg soldier's original stronghold.

They were wielding very strange weapons as they launched their assault.

What's going on? What are these green things??

"Report, Creator: Based on our existing data and collected information, these green beings are referred to as 'orks' by the local Human Imperial civilization."

"They are a species called Ork; they develop extremely quickly and can establish powerful civilizations in a very short time, though their entire civilization revolves around the joy of combat."

"A peculiar civilization." This was Noah's assessment of the orks, but his opinion of them didn't matter.

Under Noah's control, a psionic palm appeared within the stronghold where Noah had originally planned to take refuge.

With a single strike, the charging orks were directly slammed into the ground.

All the orks within a square kilometer were instantly flattened into a bloody paste by Noah's slap.

The Krieg soldier was, after all, the first person Noah had met and gotten to know in this area, so he was given preferential treatment.

However, after resolving this matter, Noah once again turned his attention back to the question of how to develop a civilization.

After much deliberation, Noah once again abandoned this plan.

He was just one person; he couldn't build a Terran Federation by himself.

He needed helpers.

Anyway, his lifespan had been extended to a full 100,000 years thanks to the federation's powerful technology.

For him, he had ample time to develop, and he now needed to cultivate some helpers for himself.

Developing a civilization alone was too difficult, too terrifying, but if he could cultivate a group of people himself, it would be different.

Having understood this, Noah walked out of his dwelling, with his 400 mechanical guards still trailing behind him.

What kind of helpers were best? Naturally, those cultivated from a young age.

He planned to wander around here, see if he could gather a group of people, and then take them away to find a new planet.

Noah walked through the streets with his mechanical guards; the scenery of the Underhive was as dismal as ever.

However, under the deterrence of his 400 mechanical guards, no one dared to approach him.

After circling around and only collecting a total of over 80 infants and orphans, Noah felt that this efficiency was too slow; he needed faster results.

It would undoubtedly be difficult to simply arrest the Imperial officials on this planet, as he had done before.

After all, doing so would be far too high-profile.

Since he couldn't arrest the high-ranking officials, were there other people besides them in this area?

As a researcher, his mind was still very sharp.

Therefore, after only a brief thought, Noah shifted his attention to the gang leaders who had previously tried to attack him.

"You, go capture those gang leaders for me, and then bring these orphans with you.

Now, we're going back."

If there was a way to make others do the work, why do it himself?

Having made up his mind, Noah stopped advancing and turned to give orders to his mechanical guard force.

Noah's mechanical guard force immediately sprang into action, dispersing into every corner of the Underhive like precise hunting dogs.

In less than three hours, a dozen gang leaders, bound hand and foot, were thrown into the underground warehouse in front of Noah.

These individuals, who usually called the shots in the Underhive, were now terrified.

They had witnessed firsthand how those powerful humanoid monsters effortlessly breached layer after layer of defenses, picking them up like chickens.

"S-sir…" a gang leader with a scar on his face stammered, "We are willing to offer all our…"

"Silence," Noah interrupted coldly, tapping his temple.

a psionic wave swept through, and all the gang leaders clutched their heads in pain.

"Now, listen carefully," Noah's voice, amplified by psionics, resonated directly in their minds, "I want you to do one thing."

He snapped his fingers, and the warehouse walls suddenly became transparent.

Outside were the orphans and children he had gathered during this time.

"Gather healthy orphans for me; not too young, not too old—between 8 and 16 years old—and bring them here to me."

Faced with such a demand, which of these gang leaders dared to refuse?

They quickly nodded in agreement.

"Yes, yes, yes, understood, understood, what you say, sir, goes, what you say, sir, goes, we understand, we will do as you say."

"Mm." Noah nodded in satisfaction, seeing that these few were quite sensible.

And the mechanical soldiers, who were already beside these gang leaders, put down the massive cannons that were larger than all their heads combined.

"Now you can go back and do it.

I will assign four soldiers to each of you to personally protect your safety, after all, you are working for me now, so your safety must be protected, right?"

"Of course, don't rush to thank me; I also have demands.

When you go back, send all the supplies in your warehouses to me."

"Don't worry, this time I won't just rob you.

Send your supplies over, and I will give you food, as well as some automatic guns, even laser guns, and even boltguns if you want them."

If they had initially been somewhat dissatisfied with Noah's first command, they no longer had any complaints after hearing the subsequent orders.

This was a great opportunity to acquire weapons; to still be dissatisfied at a time like this would truly be foolish.

"Understood, understood, sir, just watch us; we will definitely bring back everything you need."
