Rory Shaw, although somewhat impatient, nodded in agreement when Eve Sherman said so. The two then headed to a cafe Eve had already chosen and sat face-to-face in a corner.
"What have you been doing lately? Is it because my mom left home that Dexter Shaw gave you trouble?"
"It's none of your business, I don't need to explain to you."
Rory Shaw's face showed no extra expression or emotion, seeming like she didn't want to say much to Eve Sherman at all. Eve originally didn't want to get involved, but maybe because she was the one who saved Wendy, just thinking about what Rory might be facing made her uncomfortable.
"Do you need help?"
Eve Sherman asked softly.
Rory Shaw frowned and glanced at her, finger pinching a small spoon, slowly stirring the coffee in front of her.
"I don't need your help," she said indifferently, "I can handle many things myself, I don't need you to interfere."
