Eve Sherman felt her heart sink upon hearing the words.
"So, it means that although it's somewhat useful, it didn't meet our expectations?"
"Yeah. That's why I hadn't planned to tell you; I've submitted the material to the police. We should see how they investigate it. But don't get your hopes up; it might not be helpful at all to the case."
Eve Sherman nodded, "Alright, I understand. I'll think of another way."
"Mm, don't worry too much. I'll work hard on this case. After all, President Sutton offered a startling price, and I wouldn't want to undervalue myself in the future."
"Thank you for your hard work, Lawyer Langdon."
After finishing talking, Eve Sherman hung up the phone and sat by the bed somewhat dejectedly.
Stellan Sutton had come up without her noticing, standing by the door frame. Seeing Eve Sherman's bad expression, he guessed things weren't going smoothly. He went forward and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, silently pulling her into his embrace.
