"I'm very sober."
Stellan suddenly spoke.
Eve halted her steps and had to return to the bedside to sit down.
"Today I intended to get drunk, yet no matter how much I drank, I couldn't. It seems I have quite a high tolerance."
Eve lowered her gaze, looking at his handsome face, with many words she wanted to say.
But didn't know where to start.
"Eve Sherman."
Without speaking, Stellan moved again, raising his gaze, staring intensely into her eyes.
"I'm here."
Eve responded hoarsely.
"I have a question for you."
Stellan spoke slowly, his tone a bit intoxicated, yet his eyes were clear, fixing directly on Eve's face, leaving her no chance to evade.
"Go ahead."
Eve sighed, thinking it's time to be open with him.
It's just right that he wants to talk, so let's talk.
"I want to know, do you really have no feelings for me at all?"
Stellan finally spoke up.
When he heard Eve's words this morning, his heart seemed to have been struck by a heavy hammer.
