"Why should I knock? This is my house."
Hugo Shaw said impatiently, crossing his arms and looking down at Rory Shaw, "I heard I have a biological sister who ended up somewhere far away. Where did you come from?"
Rory Shaw's expression darkened, "I'm the one who's a Shaw now—Grandma took me in and raised me like her own granddaughter. That Eve Sherman is just someone the family abandoned!"
"I always thought you didn't resemble me at all—turns out you're not really a Shaw at all."
"Let me tell you, Hugo, everyone in the family knows Eve Sherman is biologically related, yet no one wants to bring her back. She has nothing in the will. I don't know where you heard all this, but right now Eve Sherman can't even be considered part of The Shaws!"
Rory Shaw was getting angry, her eyes reddening, while Hugo glanced at her and chuckled, "Why so worked up? What, are you so accustomed to wealth and status in this family that you're afraid we'll kick you out?"
