Stellan Sutton lowered his eyes in thought.
He indeed had to cancel on Simon Ford because of Eve Sherman's personal matters.
As for why he did that, perhaps it was out of a boss's protection for his subordinate?
"Could it be that you like your assistant? I thought last time that you're showing more concern for her than a boss should, is that really the case?"
Without a word, his eyelashes drooped down. Simon Ford, as if he had discovered a new world, asked gossipily.
"She's married, I'm married too, don't say such ridiculous things."
Stellan Sutton took a sip of his drink and explained in a deep voice.
"Aha!" Simon Ford pointed at him mischievously, "You didn't say whether you like her or not, you're only troubled because neither of you is single! Haha! Gotcha!"
Stellan Sutton shook his head helplessly, "What about the proposal? Have you agreed yet?"
Simon Ford's gloating smile froze on his face, "Don't force me to fall out with you."
