She lowered her eyes and smiled, "I never think about things that haven't happened... I just accept everything that comes my way."
"That mindset of yours is admirable."
Stellan Sutton took a bite of meat and praised indifferently.
Eve Sherman was a bit perplexed, but since Stellan didn't elaborate, she didn't ask further and followed along, eating the meat with suspicion.
"Lucas just told me it's your birthday today."
Upon hearing this, Eve Sherman smiled, "It's not an important day either."
Stellan Sutton's gaze flickered.
Those two really picked the worst time to confess their feelings on Eve's birthday.
"Then I guess I've wasted a precious day because of work?"
Eve Sherman shook her head, "That's not the case; work always comes first."
Stellan Sutton lowered his gaze and continued eating leisurely, saying no more. Eve wondered how he could eat hotpot with such genteel elegance, busying herself with looking after him instead of eating a lot herself.
