Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: I Want to Eat with Everyone

It's truly the first time I've felt every step I take makes the flesh on me jiggle so much.

Jiang Ran walked out of the house, with the warm spring sunshine shining on her.

It was lunchtime, and the sunlight was at its brightest.

The sun was shining brightly, and the temperature was just right. It would be even better if the courtyard was cleaner.

Although the Pei Family's courtyard wasn't exactly messy at the moment, it wasn't clean either.

Jiang Ran was staring at the courtyard, when from the room across, Pei Yang came out carrying a large porcelain basin.

Seeing Jiang Ran, Pei Yang hesitated for a moment, then opened his mouth with a slightly displeased tone, "Weren't you not getting up? Where exactly do you want to eat?"

Eat?

Jiang Ran's gaze slowly drifted down from Pei Yang's face, landing on the porcelain basin in Pei Yang's hands.

She thought so. Seeing this porcelain basin just now gave her a sense of familiarity.

Turns out this was the basin the original owner used for meals.

Others eat with bowls, and those with big appetites use larger bowls.

But the original owner was different from others; she used a basin!

Pei Yang walked over to Jiang Ran in a few steps, and Jiang Ran could clearly see what was in the basin.

A basin full of noodles, half-covered with sauce.

Being closer, the aroma drilled into Jiang Ran's nose.

Jiang Ran had been preoccupied with her thoughts earlier and didn't really feel hungry.

Now she saw the food and smelled the aroma, her stomach growled immediately.

The sound was especially loud!

At that moment, Jiang Ran could only feel her face flush with embarrassment, awkwardly shifting her gaze, and said to Pei Yang, "I'll eat with everyone else!"

Even though she had absorbed the original owner's memories, there were some things and people she needed to see and interact with firsthand to match them with the memories.

Pei Yang looked at Jiang Ran with dissatisfaction, feeling that Jiang Ran was particularly troublesome today, even more so than before.

But due to Jiang Ran's prowess, no matter how unwilling he was, he carried the porcelain basin into the main room.

Jiang Ran followed behind Pei Yang, heading towards the main room together.

The Pei Family's house was a typical rural courtyard, with three rooms facing south, and three side rooms on both the left and right sides.

The front courtyard wasn't small, with a big pagoda tree planted, and many firewood sticks and some miscellaneous items piled into the corners.

In addition, the Pei Family had a backyard, where they raised poultry and grew some vegetables, with a toilet in the corner.

Thinking of the Pei Family's layout, Jiang Ran didn't slow down her pace.

Although her flesh still wobbled with each step, she got somewhat used to it after walking this stretch.

The Pei Family had quite a few houses, but they had been around for many years. From the outside, they looked old and shabby, and once inside, it became evident that they were indeed old and shabby.

Hanging on the wall opposite the door were three pictures, on the left was the Immortal of the South Pole holding a longevity peach with a cane, on the right was the God of Wealth, and in the middle was a large landscape painting.

This really was…

Before time-traveling, Jiang Ran faintly remembered having seen similar pictures on someone else's wall when she was very young.

Unexpectedly, after time-traveling, she saw them again.

Below the three paintings was a long table, with some things placed on it, all covered with a layer of dust.

In the middle of the room was a square table, and a bowl of sauce, a plate of washed green onions, and a bowl of Laba garlic were already set on it.

In the village, every household would make their own soybean paste and Laba garlic, making quite a lot all at once.

In the spring, when there weren't many vegetables to eat, they would use them to accompany their meals.
