Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Spiritual Garden

Jia Yi finally understood the generosity of the family, but he didn't worry about not being able to manage.

After all, he had already gained the most important spells all over, sparing him the main cost.

The contribution points he would gain from now on could be used for other matters.

He thanked his aunt for explaining, before looking at his cousins "I can manage seven acres on my own, which leaves eight to be split between you two. Can you manage with that?"

The two nodded instantly. Previously, they managed three, which was rather easy for them.

As for their difference in strength – Xianghe's main root was fire, supplemented by wood and wind. His fire was strong but his other spells were weaker.

On the other hand, Xianghu had a strong water root and only slightly weaker wind rood, which is why she's able to perform well.

Because of this, the difference in cultivation basically off sets the difference of roots.

Jia Yi then looked at his aunt with expectations.

As if she knew his thoughts, she smiled and stood up, not waiting and delaying the handover.

After all, she had known about Jia Yi coming back with this ship, which was why she prepared early on. Now, the field was empty and she didn't earn anything for some time.

Although it wasn't a dramatic loss, every little point lost would be a point too few for her goals.

The three left the courtyard and walked down the path.

At the end of the path, the road split into several paths, separating the various gardens on the step.

Jia Yi and the other two followed Miaoxue. Meanwhile, Miaosi had remained in the courtyard, preparing the rooms where the three would reside in the future.

After all, the yards they themselves would get were definitely a lot lower.

The yards defined the spiritual concentration, but the amount was stable. It could even be safely used by a late-stage foundation building cultivator, or three mid-stage ones, so Jia Yi and the others weren't a burden at all.

"So this is what a cultivation garden looks like!" Xianghe exclaimed when they passed a certain post. The badge on Miaoxue's waist glowed, opening the door to the garden.

Jia Yi also looked inside, feeling the abundant wooden spiritual power while smelling the fragrance of spring, refreshing his mind and clearing his thoughts.

He became calmer as he looked at the garden, feeling he was able to enter a state of tranquillity at any point.

"Haha, Jia Yi, you're really sensitive! It seems the environment here is very good for you."

"Of course it is! Aunt, is it possible to reside in the garden?"

He asked because he really felt that it would be more beneficial for him if he stayed in the field.

After separating from the field for so long, he felt like a kitten thrown into water, unwell and having a constant urge to leave and return to his fields.

The garden strengthened this effect numerous times.

Miaoxue thought for a moment before agreeing to it "Well the garden can withstand my cultivation fully, so there is no reason for you not to stay here."

"Then I want to stay too!" Xianghu said, his expression determined.

Xianghe on the side nodded, looking like a chicken pecking corn.

Jia Yi had to hold back his laughter as he waited for his aunt's answer.

As expected, she agreed to this too.

The garden's spiritual power was even stronger than that of her yard.

If she didn't need to cultivate water alchemy regularly, she would've remained in the garden too… this wasn't too rare of a trait of their sect's cultivators.

Then it was time to decide the territory.

Although the assigned farmers weren't present, there were fences to separate the garden. Their plot of land was in the northeast. Jia Yi took the territory at the heart and towards the northeast, Xianghe took the one to the north and Xianghu took the one to the east.

Jia Yi wanted to remain, but they had to register things before doing so, so they left.

Miaoxue simply gave them her own badge and a jade slip with the message, sending them on their way.

She wasn't so free as to accompany the younger generation all over the sect.

Jia Yi and the others took this opportunity to walk slower and absorb the scenery.

It was truly tranquil and refreshing at the same time.

Bees were buzzing as they randomly flew from behind them, quickly taking them over to the left, according to proper flying law.

It was a weird combination of nature and human laws, but Jia Yi liked it a lot.

He went to the reception at the platform. He had asked this question on the side when he was chatting with Miaosi, and she explained that there was a family-owned market on the first step, where the family sold various of their produced items.

There was also an entertainment stage and theatre on the fifth step, meant to entertain various higher-ranked guests from the sect and outside.

The family had it's own small tradition and it was a popular visiting destination among foundation building and origin light cultivators. It also included a small shopping street, a lot smaller than the one on the first floor, but it sold items more tendered towards late-stage foundation building and origin light.

Still, the lower market was a lot more popular. After all, the mountain was in the outer sect, so various qi-refining cultivators living in the mountains around the Seven Step Mountain would come and buy resources here.

Most came to buy high-quality rice for a reasonable price, until they realised that the market was generally very affordable.

Rather than taking various trips, it was better to take one and build connections with the stewards and working personnel there.

Jia Yi had already arrived at the reception and handed the jade slip to the receptionist.

The process was quick and a new mission was marked in the badge – he could view the content when pressing it on his forehead, though there were also tools that projected the content all over the platform, even including a secrecy function.

The receptionist also handed over a small storage bag to him, containing seven acre's worth of rice seeds.

That's right, he chose to continue cultivating rice, but this time, he took a higher grading one. It was of the same series, the Green Gleaming Rice, a mid-stage rice. Although he could take late-stage rice, he didn't know how much it would take him to manage mid-stage rice, so he was unwilling to take the risk right away.

The bag came with a jade slip on how to cultivate them – unlike the Green Shining Rice, this rice required a ten square metre space to thrive well… the reason it was so similar was because although he changed the place where his field was, the field remained the same: a first-grade late-stage field.

He sensed in the garden that the north, east, south and west all had the concentration of a second-grade spiritual field, the corners where he was, was only at the late stage to the peak stage in some spots, while the centre was the mid-stage second grade, the core being late-stage even.

It might only be a garden of 100 acres, but the separation of the formations created such a strong difference between a few metres.

It was like standing under the sun in while there was a rain cloud just a few metres away, staying still with no movement.
