After resting for a while in her room, Fiona's sisters came to check on her. She pushed herself up from the bed and sat on it, resting her head against the bed frame.
The fact that Bluebell tagged along with them was something Fiona found hard to believe.
The door was gently opened by Daisy after Fiona replied for them to come in.
"How's your health, baby sis?" Daisy asked as she walked in and sat beside Fiona on the bed. Her other sisters followed but remained standing beside the bed.
"I'm all better now. Thanks for coming to check on me," Fiona replied warmly, her voice calm and soft. Her eyes then shifted to the two sisters she disliked the most. She leaned closer to Daisy and asked in a low voice,
"Why are they here?"
Daisy smiled, clearly amused by the question.
"Is that really a question? They're your sisters, and they care about your well-being."
Fiona looked puzzled at the idea of Bluebell caring about her. Britney, maybe. But Bluebell? That felt impossible.
"How are you doing, Fifi?" Bluebell asked with a sweet smile, revealing the small dimple on her left cheek. She stood innocently beside Britney, wearing a perfect mask of kindness.
"I'm good now, Sugar Rush," Fiona replied with a smile of her own.
Bluebell clenched her fist slightly, clearly resisting the urge to snap back.
"I hope you've been resting well," Britney added, her concern sounding genuine as her worried eyes met Fiona's. Fiona only nodded in response.
"Well, since you're feeling better," Daisy said as she stood up from the bed, "how about we leave you to rest properly so you can have your peace?"
She walked toward the door and left the room.
Bluebell stuck out her tongue in disrespect before following her out, slamming the door loudly behind her and leaving Britney behind.
"So, Fiona," Britney said as she moved closer and sat beside her on the bed. "You wouldn't happen to have seen a glowing creature around here, would you?"
Fiona frowned.
Was she talking about that strange glowing creature Twilight had? When it came to curiosity, Britney always took the first bite of the mysterious pie.
"What are you talking about?" Fiona asked, tightening her grip on the blanket resting over her legs.
"Don't act like that, big sis. I know you've seen it. A glowing creature with little to no logical explanation for its existence," Britney said, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose, staring like a scientist observing a rare specimen.
"Did you fall down the stairs or something? If not, I think you've naturally lost your mind," Fiona replied dryly, raising a brow.
"If you won't tell me," Britney said calmly, standing up, "I'll just find out myself."
She moved toward Fiona's study table and began rummaging through the books scattered across it.
Fiona stared at her in disbelief before standing up angrily and grabbing Britney's arm.
"Get out! I'm tired of your ridiculous obsession with extraterrestrials. It's driving me crazy!"
She dragged her toward the door.
"But Fiona, why so dramatic? You never know what lurks around us," Britney said, trying to finish her theory.
Fiona flung the door open and shoved her out. Britney stumbled but quickly regained her balance, adjusting her glasses before they slipped off.
"Get lost, freak," Fiona snapped. "Go crush on boy bands like girls your age do, because I can't deal with this anymore."
She slammed the door shut.
From the other side, Britney muttered,
"One day, Fiona, I'll find out what you're hiding. Just one day."
Her footsteps faded as she walked away on
the other side of the door, Fiona sighed in frustration. She had finally had enough of Britney.
