Japan, Ryoukou Town

Two Days Later

Kiyotora POV

"What are you reading?" He voiced out, staring at the young man on the bed.

Ever since they had entered their hotel room, the young exorcist had drowned himself in that book, he doubted the kid even blinked.

"About Sacred Gear." He raised his brows, before nodding his head.

Reading about Sacred Gears before this mission truly starts was a good idea, after all the fallens employed great a many Sacred Gear users. As for the fallen themselves, all exorcists are taught about them alongside the devil.

"So what's out plan?" The young exorcist asked, staring at him, still keeping the book open.

"There has already been an altercation between The Magician and The Fallens." He recalled the update information he had received.

"We will first go there, and see if we can gain any understanding for the source." He wondered, what could be the reason for two groups to came to blows. "We will also investigate the students and their parents, that seemingly vanished."

"There is bound to be a battle then."

He could only nod his head at that, after the recent revelation of the Fallen-Magician altercation and some of the lost students were sighted, the mission had changed from observation to kill if necessary.

And if the students were truly sighted, and two of them managed to find the students, a battle was bound to ensue with whoever was responsible for the Aloha incident.

He started at the young exorcist, his student and partner, wondering if Sho wasn't here would the mission have changed?

It was only because of his beast like sense and confirmation that the students were sighted, that the mission had changed from an observation one.

'No point in wondering about that now.' He mused standing up, as he moved towards Sho, placing a file infront of the young exorcist.

"Hmm?" The blonde head, raised his brows at the file infront of him. "What's this?"

"It's the list of all the students that vanished in that accursed incident and their parents, make sure remember all of them." He was glad that the kid wasn't a hot head or raised pointless question.

He had heard countless other senior exorcists complaining that their partner, protégé, were too hot blooded and believed themselves to be superior than others.

Two most prominent examples being David Cero's protege and the heir to Durandal.

"If we are able to find the lost students or their parents, it would inevitably lead us to one of the two groups involved." He mused, making sure to keep a dose of optimism.

If a group went of their way to abduct a bunch of students and silently their parents, then it was very likely then students were already dead or worse.

"Or maybe even both." He chuckled at his partners greater optimism.

Though he seriously hoped that wasn't the case, having to possibly face both Fallens and Magicians while needing to protect lives would be a nightmare.

A few moments later

Third POV

"Anything strange?"

"There were fallen here, strong ones." The young blonde nodded his head, as he tried to find anything else. "The smell of too overwhelming, stronger than any till now."

'That's not good.' The former shinra thought, the duo in the past had faced against High Class Fallens. So the young exorcist's statement didn't inspire hope.

This was already the second overwhelmingly strong fallen scent, Sho had picked up.

'We might have two ultimate class fallen, or worse two of the Cadre.' Kiyotora was already starting to feel a head ache starting to come.

"Anything else?"

"Blood, Devil and humans." The holy sword user pinched the bridge of his nose, turning towards the older exorcist. "And the smell of the students."

The former Shinra nodded his head at the information, before coming here they had paid brief visits to a few homes, of the lost students.

Something that had allowed him memorise some of the scents.

'Though a devil? That doesn't make sense. The HQ never mentioned anything about devils, or could it be an independent one working with Fallens?' Kiyotora wondered, puzzled by the revelation of Devil involvement. All while the other exorcist was going through his own internal monologue.

'Basically a glorified hound.' Sho sighed, wondering why and how he had gotten this smell.

"I assume all of them are gone." Sho nodded his head at the question, the scent of the fallens had suddenly vanished same as many of the students scents.

Meaning the fallen and the students most likely teleported away, and the fallens may have been responsible for that atleast.

"Just to be sure, keep the communication like active." The former Shinra stare at the other side of the room. "I will go check out what's on the other side, you stay here."

Sho nodded his head, looking at the retreating figure of his partner.

'I guess I just wait now…' He internally mused looking at the surrounding, as something popped in his head.

'A devil working alongside Fallens, and that devil having an unusual scent.' A figure flashed before his eyes, of a certain silver haired Devil Prince.

Vali Lucifer

A half devil hybrid born with one of the Thirteen Longinus, a creation of the Biblical God himself.

The one carrying the blood of Gods opposite, Lucifer's blood, possess a artefact of God and inside the said weapon resides a dragon they opposed both.

As Azazel put it himself, a joke.

Or maybe a miracle of the highest order.

Had it been any other scenario it wouldn't have man's sense but a Devil associated with Fallen, the strongest he had ever felt.

There was no way it could have been a coincidence, without someone like a Cadre interfering it was debatable if a Devil would be allowed in Grigori.

'Or maybe I am just thinking too much, the devil may have been on the other side. A casualty.' He tried to justify it, which wasn't far fetched for Magicians to be associated with Devil.

Because if his assumption about Vali was true, then one of the two fallen smells may have been Azazel.

And right now, the duo were severely lacking to take on the leader of the fall-

A wall of holy swords immediately sprouted behind Sho, protecting him from a fire ball thrown his way.

Sho immediately created distance between himself and the wall, staring at the perpetrator as the wall crumbled.

Two male individuals, most likely both of whom were magician.

"Well this is awkward…" The young exorcist scratched his cheek, his other hand resting on Excalibur Blessing. "You wouldn't happen to be passing be, right?"

"Tch you missed, idiot."

"I didn't miss, he created that wall to protect himself jackass." The two magicians quarreled between each other, as one of them muttered something before launching a bolt of lightning towards him.

Sho calmly created unsheathed Excalibur, as he effortlessly cut the lightning bolt.

"Well, you started it….." The Excalibur wielder mused, as a he rushed toward the magician duo.

One of the magicians immediately erected a barrier to block his attack, while the other released a bolt of lightning which he avoided.

Immediately a wave of sword started to sprout between the two magician, seperating the two.

Before one of them could recover, Sho threw a dagger at the magician scratching the magic users cheek.

A wall of sword erupted protecting him from the attack of the other magician.

"Got you." Both magicians surrounded him from both sides, as the both launched their respective magic.

The magicians had clearly thought the exorcist would only be able to block one attack at a time with the ability to manifest a wall of swords, that coupled with his Excalibur compromised, they weren't wrong about their assumption.

But they had clearly underestimated him…

As a fire ball and a lightning bolt raced towards Sho, he just manifested a pale sword which he used cut the lightning. The lightning completely being devoured by the sword, while another wall of sword manifested blocking the fire ball.

the magician who had launched the lightning bolt clicked his tongue, only to see something strange happen.

The exorcist had thrown that newly manifested sword towards him.

On instinct the magician manifested a barrier not wanting to take any chances with the strange situation.

As the sword came in contact with the barrier, rather than clashing against the barrier it exploded.

A technique he had developed using a certain King of Fakers as an inspiration.

Where the Archer servant would use his ability to project noble phantasm, and use the said noble phantasm as disposable arrows.

Arrows which would then unleash the magical energy stored within, in what would be called Broken Phantasms.

And what the young exorcist did was quite similar in nature, creating a Holy sword with lightning absorption and then had the sword unleash all the energy.

Both energy which had been used in it's creation and what it had absorbed.

Resulting in the sight infront of him, Destruction.

Sho didn't understand why most other Blade Blacksmith user didn't try this.

A sword filled with high amounts of power, yet intentionally made with its structural integrity unstable or with the purpose of unleashing its energy, as a mode of long range attack.

Oh well.

He turned around to see the other magician struggling to get up, a curtesy of the dagger that had scratched the poor magicians cheek.

A neurotoxic based venomous sword, just with a unique effect. The special venom causing paralysis and a form of brain fog.

A life sentence for a magician, who rely on their brain to calculate for the magic they practice, and the paralysis part making any physical resistance pointless.

"Ughh…." The magician struggled to get up or use magic as Sho approched him.

"Its pointless to resist." Sho observed his surrounding, his sense of smell searching for any other enemy.

An: Do leave Review and Stones, those help a lot.

So I think the idea used in the fight by Sho was good, DxD wise. But the execution of it by me as a writer may be a bit lacking. Don't worry it will improve.
