Walking back into that room replaced my thoughts off Astrid's strange behaviour to a strange sentimental feeling.
I closed the door behind me, letting my bag slink down my arm to the floor as I took the space in. It was clean and dusted. I should feel relieved to be back, but a part of me wasn't entirely happy about it.
I slowly walked towards the window and stared out towards the inner district in the near distance.
The feeling I couldn't name defined itself almost immediately. I felt confined. The walls of this room now pressed in on me like a cage I couldn't escape.
My fingers traced the window pane absently as I tweaked my hearing slightly enough to hear the wolves moving through the streets below. Some were in human form, others in their wolf form, all moving around with purpose and a freedom I didn't have.
