Chapter 266 - Chapter 268: Acts of Kindness

Ashryn left the castle alone, bursting through the heavy doors with a THUD!

He ran through the sunlit streets, laughter spilling from his lips, eyes sparkling as he took in the bustling market around him.

Ahead, a poor man approached timidly, worn clothes torn and stomach growling.

Ashryn bent slightly and grabbed his hands.

"Come with me," he said warmly.

The old man hesitated, then followed him toward the castle. Ashryn darted inside, rummaging through his drawers.

"There's my pocket money," he murmured, grabbing a handful of coins.

He stepped back out into the streets, smiling as he handed the old man a small bag. The man's eyes widened, astonished, as if seeing an angel.

"Sorry, I took a little time," Ashryn said kindly.

They walked to a nearby shop. The shopkeeper looked up, surprised.

"Prince, what would you like?"

"I just need tacos," Ashryn replied casually.

The shopkeeper quickly prepared the food.

"How much is it?" Ashryn asked.

The man smiled gently. "It's free for you, Your Highness."

Ashryn placed some coins on the counter and took the tacos in his hands. He walked back to the old man, and together they sat beneath the shade of a large tree.

"Eat well," Ashryn said, smiling. "I have a little extra money; I want to get you some clothes too."

The old man stammered, eyes wide with disbelief.

"P-Prince… it's okay. I'm grateful for the food, but clothes are too much!"

Ashryn shook his head, his smile gentle and resolute.

"It's alright. It shouldn't be an inconvenience that you don't have. Please, let me help—you have to let me."

The old man nodded, awed.

"As you say, P-Prince."

Ashryn laughed softly. "Call me Ashryn."

The man's gratitude shone brighter than the sun, and Ashryn's laughter carried through the streets like a warm breeze.
