Vrooom
The engine of Fenrir roared with power, tearing apart the stillness of the night.
Lief accelerated, feeling how the air hit his face, but this time the wind did not bring the stench of Death.
The atmosphere of the city had changed.
Jennifer clung to his back with a force that went beyond safety.
Her arms surrounded his waist like a tourniquet, her cheek crushed against the leather of his jacket, absorbing the body heat that emanated from him.
Her world reduced to the vibration between her legs and the man who was driving.
It was he who saved her in the worst moment... in despair, who granted her a new life...
…
Upon arriving at the hotel, the hallway still smelled of cleaning products, but for them, who had just come from walking among corpses, this felt like the most luxurious sanctuary in the world.
The sound of the deadbolt sliding upon closing the door cut the link with the outside world.
They did not bother to turn on the lights.
Jennifer's room remained submerged in gloom, illuminated only by the glow of the full moon and the parking lot light filtering through the curtains, painting stripes of light on the unmade bed.
Lief barely had time to take off his jacket and turn around when he felt a warm and soft impact against his chest.
Jennifer hugging him with a predatory urgency.
She raised her face toward him and, in the semi darkness, her eyes underwent a metamorphosis, the human blue was devoured by an electric and deep violet, two abysses of supernatural desire that shone with their own light.
"Lief…"
His name came out of her lips with a devotion that bordered on the religious.
Her nature vibrated in a perfect resonance with him.
The violence he had unleashed... deciding over life and death... this acted on her like the most potent aphrodisiac imaginable.
He said nothing, simply looked at her from his height, holding that hungry gaze.
He could feel the feverish heat that emanated from her skin, a physical radiation that penetrated clothes and indicated to him that the adrenaline of what they lived through had transformed into something much more... carnal.
Without waiting for the slightest answer, Jennifer raised her desperate hands and tangled her fingers tightly in his hair to pull him down, sealing his mouth with hers in a wet, urgent and violent clash.
Her lips moved with a voracity seeking not only contact, but fusion.
"Mmm…"
She moaned against his mouth, while her tongue invaded his territory, intertwining with his in a hot dance that tasted of danger.
Lief responded with the same intensity, letting his large hands go down to travel the curve of her back, squeezing her butt tightly and pulling her even more against him until not even a millimeter of air remained between their bodies.
Feeling her heart beating against his own chest with a frantic rhythm.
"Aaah~..."
She arched against him, rubbing herself, desperately seeking more friction... more of that masculine and dominant energy that intoxicated her.
The kiss deepened, becoming dirtier and wilder, full of soft bites on the lips and shared gasps that filled the room.
Being held up, Jennifer slid her hands under his T shirt, her nails gently scratching the muscles of his back, tracing maps of fire on his skin, desperate to touch the source of that power that had her on the verge of delirium.
"I cannot take it anymore~..." she whispered against his neck, separating just enough to breathe with her violet eyes shining with a brazen lust. "Fuck me so hard that you will make me forget everything!"
...
The next morning.
When the first ray of sun filtered through the curtains, Lief opened his eyes.
Feeling conscious now, he focused his gaze on her.
Jennifer slept deeply by his side, with her hair sprawled out and a silly smile.
Lief could not help smiling.
After nourishing her again, it seemed as if Jennifer's presence was more... Solid? He did not know how to describe it, but she felt more alive.
He got up carefully so as not to wake her and headed to the shower.
Ten minutes later, when he came out of the bathroom drying his hair, he found Jennifer already awake.
She was lying on her side, with the white sheet barely covering what was strictly necessary, looking at him with eyes that had recovered their usual blue.
"Good morning~"
"Good morning..." responded Lief, approaching the edge of the bed to place a soft kiss on her forehead, "Time to move. The bus is not going to wait and we have to get out of this town before noon."
"Mmm... understood." Jennifer stretched like a cat, in no real rush, but she obeyed.
They packed their few belongings and went down.
Upon leaving the motel, the change was palpable.
The people on the streets walked with another rhythm. The numbness and the thousand-yard stare had disappeared from their faces, replaced by the mundane activity of any given day.
Lief decided to leave Fenrir stored in his backpack for the moment and walked with Jennifer to the parking lot where the bus waited with the engine running.
Next to the new folding door, the group of students and teachers crowded together with an evident relief to return home.
Frank was there, in the center of a small group, holding a brochure and gesturing with energy. There was no longer any trace of the sickly paleness nor the terror of yesterday.
"Lief! Jennifer!" shouted Frank upon seeing them, greeting with enthusiasm.
He approached them with a firm step and a smile from ear to ear.
"Man, it is incredible! I do not know what happened, but this morning I woke up feeling... new. It is as if an anvil had been taken off my chest. Even the air tastes different!"
He gave Lief a friendly pat on the shoulder, his gratitude genuine and unfiltered.
"Seriously, thanks for covering for me yesterday... I was losing my mind, buddy."
Lief returned the smile calmly, "I suppose the change of weather helps. I am glad to see you on your feet."
"Definitely!" Frank looked around, taking a last look at the town, "Anyway, I have had enough of this hole. I cannot wait to get home, take a real shower and sleep in my own bed."
The general atmosphere was of contained euphoria. Everyone got on the bus, leaving behind the shadows of Shadyside.
Lief and Jennifer walked down the center aisle and settled in the last row, on the right side. The rest of the group crowded in the front seats, too busy discussing the details of the trip with the teachers or sharing snacks to pay attention to the back.
The bus started moving with a jolt and the constant hum of the tires on the asphalt filled the cabin.
Jennifer rested her head on Lief's shoulder naturally, closing her eyes to doze.
"..."
Lief looked out the window while the "Welcome to Shadyside" sign disappeared.
With the landscape becoming blurry, the system interface materialized.
[Coins: 50,050,999]
Fifty million...
That meant five chances in the Advanced Draw. Or an absurd amount of direct upgrades.
The anticipation caused a slight itch, anxious to see what kind of weapons or skills could come out.
"Are you anxious...?"
Jennifer's voice felt hot against his neck, although that temperature had nothing to do with the draw.
Lief turned his head slightly and discovered that Jennifer was not asleep, for her eyes were locked on him.
Before he could answer, he felt her hand sliding boldly up his thigh, rising dangerously toward his crotch.
"?"
Lief arched an eyebrow.
"We are with people, Jenn," he murmured under his breath, indicating with a nod toward the front of the bus.
She did not even turn around and a mischievous smile curved her lips, ignoring the warning.
"There is no one looking," she replied softly, her hand firmly massaging the area over the fabric of the jeans, "They are all too busy celebrating that they are still alive. Besides..." she leaned closer, her lips brushing his earlobe, "I like the risk."
Without giving him time to protest, and with alarming dexterity, Jennifer's fingers found the fly of his pants.
Zzzzip
The sound of the zipper going down was inaudible under the noise of the bus, but to Lief it sounded like thunder.
Jennifer reached her hand inside the underwear, her cold fingers contrasting deliciously with his hot skin before freeing his cock, which was already reacting with urgency to the provocation.
Lief let out a ragged sigh.
"You are insatiable..." He murmured although there was no trace of complaint in his voice.
Jennifer did not answer with words: her hand wrapped around his member with delicacy and began a slow movement while she looked him in the eyes with lascivious devotion.
Lief extended his arm and sank his hand into her curly hair, pulling her toward him to seal the moment with a tender kiss on the lips.
