Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 – A Fool’s Investment

After the celebration banquet ended, they all gathered for a group photo.

Alex Lin smiled brightly and said, "Brother Ye, come over here, let's take a picture!"

Ethan Ye hesitated. "Isn't that unnecessary?"

"How can it be unnecessary? This is a moment worth remembering! Come on, don't be shy."

Without waiting for permission, Alex Lin pulled him over to stand beside him.

An employee lifted a phone. "Alright, both of you look here—say cheese!"

Click.

The image was frozen in time.

On the left stood Alex Lin, dressed in a slim silver-gray designer suit, polished leather shoes gleaming, his smile confident and dazzling. He looked every bit the successful elite.

On the right stood Ethan Ye, dressed in a simple bodyguard uniform with a bright red commendation flower pinned to his chest. In his hands was a massive gold medal, and on his face—a smile so awkward it could melt steel.

After the photo, Alex Lin lifted a glass of champagne high and declared, "Now, let's all toast to my brother, Ethan Ye! And let's also wish our company great success and prosperity! Cheers!"

"Cheers!" everyone shouted in unison.

The banquet soon relaxed into laughter and conversation.

Alex Lin didn't leave immediately. Instead, he stayed to eat, drink, and chat with everyone, using the opportunity to build stronger connections.

With his eloquent charm and easy smile, he quickly won everyone over.

Throughout the entire gathering, Ethan Ye sat beside him. Whenever his glass was empty, Alex Lin personally refilled it. Whatever dish he wanted, Alex Lin served it for him—treating him with great care.

Everyone around them shook their heads and sighed."This bodyguard is really spoiled.""So what if he got lucky once? Does that make him special?""He doesn't have any real ability—just luck!"

But what came next made them even more envious.

After the banquet, Alex Lin held his first department meeting.

To everyone's surprise, he didn't ask Ethan Ye to leave. Instead, he had him sit right beside him—showing absolute trust.

During the meeting, Alex Lin discussed the company's upcoming investment strategy, focusing primarily on the securities market.

This made Ethan Ye frown in disappointment.

In his previous life, the Demon King Alex Lin had treated the securities market like his personal ATM.

Every investment he made—stocks, bonds, futures—turned to gold.

He made money faster than anyone could imagine.

If Alex Lin entered the market again this lifetime, it would only accelerate his rise!

That couldn't be allowed.

"What do I do?" Ethan Ye thought anxiously. "How can I stop him?"

Unable to contain himself, he spoke up. "Boss Lin, the securities market is in a downturn right now. It's risky to enter. How about investing in tangible industries instead? The education sector and live-streaming commerce are booming and full of opportunity."

Although some employees frowned—thinking a bodyguard shouldn't interrupt a meeting—they had to admit his words made sense.

Indeed, the securities market was currently sluggish, and the risk was high. Keeping the funds in the bank might be boring, but it was safer and still brought interest.

Alex Lin smiled. "Brother Ye, of course we'll invest in those industries later. But we still don't understand them well enough. Entering too hastily would be reckless. We'll research first. In the meantime, the funds sitting in the bank are idle—so why not invest in the securities market for small, steady gains?"

Ethan Ye secretly exhaled in relief. As long as you don't give up on those industries, that's fine. I'll make sure you lose every penny later!

Alex Lin clapped his hands. "Alright, let's plan our finances!"

After allocating the funds, there was about 50 million yuan remaining.

Then, Alex Lin turned toward Ethan Ye with a smile. "Brother Ye, there's still 50 million left. How about I let you handle this money?"

The entire room went silent.

Everyone was stunned—Ethan Ye most of all.

"Boss Lin… you're letting me handle it?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yes," Alex Lin nodded confidently. "You're the one who helped us earn this money. It's only fair that you get the chance to manage part of it. I've always believed you have talent for investment—a sharp intuition! All you need is an opportunity to prove yourself. Besides, you can't be a bodyguard forever. Take this chance to learn, grow, and gain experience!"

Ethan Ye pretended to hesitate. "But… what if I lose money?"

"If you lose, I'll take the responsibility," Alex Lin said meaningfully. "Take the risk boldly, my brother. I believe in your vision. You won't disappoint me."

Ethan Ye's pulse quickened with excitement.

What's this?This is an opportunity!

Fifty million in funds! Enough to bury Alex Lin's financial future if he played it right.

Once he lost this, Ethan Ye could persuade him to invest in doomed industries like education and live streaming—and destroy him further.

Perfect plan, he thought, silently applauding himself.

But before he could celebrate, the entire room erupted.

"No way!"

"We can't allow this!"

"Ye Xing—uh, Mr. Ye—has no financial background!"

"He's just a bodyguard! How can we entrust 50 million to him?"

"Even if we let him practice, the amount should be symbolic—one million at most!"

"Vice President Lin, please reconsider!"

The protests filled the room.

But Alex Lin simply raised his hand and silenced them with authority.

"There's no need to say more," he said firmly. "My decision is final."

He stood. "The meeting is adjourned."
