Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Rainy Day

"Whoosh!"

The summer rain poured down, one moment it was a clear Sunny Day with not a cloud in sight, the next moment the sky was overcast, and a heavy downpour began.

The air was filled with the damp smell of earth, mixed with the unique scent of decaying leaves.

"Swish—"

Kawaki closed the window and couldn't help but laugh as he watched the Pokémon soaked by the sudden heavy rain, turning into drowned rats.

"Every single one of you looks like a little calico cat now!"

Because they were wet from the rain, the fur of these Pokémon had more or less some grass clippings and dust stuck to them, and a few of them even had mud on their feet.

They swarmed in, immediately making the Breeding House's hall dirty, and at a glance, many plum blossom-shaped footprints appeared on the floor.

"Growlithe, Bagon, no running around, stand still obediently first!"

Kawaki said as he brought a wet towel to wipe the mud from their paw pads.

Growlithe was very happy to be cared for, while Bagon struggled, looking uncomfortable, as Kawaki's actions tickled him.

Seeing Bagon's reaction, Kawaki understood clearly in his heart; it turned out this Pokémon was ticklish!

After taking care of the two Pokémon, Kawaki then brought dry towels to wipe the rainwater off the other Pokémon.

Finally, he herded them all onto the sofa to lie down, and because he was worried they might catch a cold from the heavy rain, Kawaki brought a specially large blanket from his bedroom and covered them with it.

Growlithe, Gastly, Bagon, Bulbasaur, Clefairy, and all the other Pokémon had never experienced anything like this before.

This blanket, large enough to cover all of them, seemed like a giant toy to them; one by one, they all burrowed inside, and immediately, the blanket began to bulge with lumps of varying sizes.

Kawaki glanced over and saw those bulges gradually moving towards the same spot, finally forming one particularly large bulge.

He didn't even need to think to know that Chansey was inside, using her body to prop up the blanket, forming a large "tent."

A group of Pokémon sat huddled together, whispering to each other inside.

Kawaki: "..."

He couldn't understand them anyway, so he simply let the Pokémon play there by themselves.

Meanwhile, he and Bewear took brooms and mops to clean the floor that had been dirtied by the Pokémon.

"Whoosh!"

Another rush of rain sound came, dense raindrops constantly hitting the window, making a crackling sound.

Kawaki looked at that scene, then at Bewear beside him and this bright and spacious Breeding House, and immediately felt a sense of peace.

"With rain this heavy, I don't think any guests will be coming over," Kawaki said.

"Goo."

Bewear also looked out the window with a pair of bright black eyes.

"Since that's the case, then let's take a day off!" Kawaki said with a smile.

"Goo~"

Bewear gladly agreed.

After one person and one Pokémon finished cleaning, they closed the shop and leisurely sat on the sofa, watching the Pokémon play in the blanket-tent while casually sipping juice and reading a book.

"Thump, thump, thump!"

Suddenly, there was a knocking sound from the window.

Kawaki looked up and saw Latias's familiar face.

"Latias?"

Kawaki was a little surprised; he quickly got up and went to open the door.

Latias and Latios were indeed standing outside the door.

Latias and Latios had come to visit!

"Come in quickly!" It was still raining heavily outside, so Kawaki quickly stepped aside, inviting the two Pokémon to enter the house first. But as soon as he finished speaking, he saw the rainwater outside automatically dispersing and flowing to both sides after falling a certain distance from Latias and Latios, as if a magical force was protecting them from getting wet.

"That's—"

Kawaki immediately recognized it.

That was Psychic power!

It seemed these two Pokémon had quite a high level of mastery in Psychic control!

Latias and Latios flew into the hall.

Latias immediately spotted the blanket in the hall, propped up into a tent by Chansey, and she instantly approached it with great curiosity to check the situation.

"Mew?"

The next second, the blanket suddenly moved, and a small bulge suddenly appeared.

Latias was startled and quickly retreated.

But when she looked closely, she saw a Bagon crawling out from inside to get some air.

"Mew..."

Latios, as the older brother, watched this scene with a helpless expression.

Kawaki found it somewhat amusing; this brother and sister pair were quite interesting.

"You two rest here for a bit, I'll go prepare some apple pie for you. I remember Latias likes caramel apple pie, right?" Kawaki looked at Latias.

"Mew!" Latias's eyes lit up, and she nodded repeatedly, looking very cute.

"Then I understand," Kawaki said with a smile. "I'll go prepare it for you now."

There were still some freshly picked apples at home, which could be used to make apple pie.

Latias and Latios waited in the living room, frequently peeking towards the kitchen during that time.

Soon, an inviting aroma wafted from there.

The eyes of both Pokémon lit up.

Immediately after, they saw Kawaki emerge, carrying their favorite apple pie.

Latias immediately flew over impatiently, picked up a piece of apple pie with her small hands, and happily began to enjoy it.

"Eat slowly, be careful, it's hot!" Kawaki said.

However, facts proved that this temperature was nothing to a legendary Pokémon.

Latias blinked her eyes, her expression seeming to say: It's not hot at all?

Kawaki:

"..."

True, Pokémon and Pokémon, and humans, cannot be lumped together.

Some Pokémon even consume rocks, trash, and lava as food.

Not to mention Latias and Latios are legendary Pokémon, superior to ordinary Pokémon.

Commonly known as: Divine Beasts.

Kawaki placed the remaining apple pie on a small dining table.

Latias and Latios floated nearby, happily enjoying the delicious food.

Looking at these two rare Pokémon, Kawaki couldn't help but want to get some 'wool' from them to give back to the Pokémon in the Breeding House.

Their last visit allowed Kawaki to obtain the legendary item, Soul Dew.

That Soul Dew had now merged with the Breeding House's lake water, not only continuously releasing clear spring water but also capable of increasing the training speed of Psychic and Dragon Pokémon.

As for this time—

Kawaki turned his gaze to the Exp. Share placed on the counter.

It is well known that in games, legendary Pokémon like Latias and Latios are very strong.

If Kawaki remembered correctly, in the games, Latias and Latios's levels were usually around Lv40 or Lv60.

And Pokémon like Groudon, Kyogre, and Ho-Oh had even higher strengths, reaching Lv80.

Battles between Pokémon of this level could provide a large amount of experience for ordinary Pokémon.

If Latias and Latios could have a battle, and then a certain Pokémon in the Breeding House wore an Exp. Share,

to gain experience from it—
