Chapter 2 - [2] Mind changes

"So depending on my luck, I can get overpowered quirks like impure beam at the beginning? Though I won't be able to use it without regeneration...." Zen wondered to himself.

Zen felt disappointed in his stats too, they were too low. Even with [Brawn boost] it would just make him a little stronger.

Zen felt disdainful towards training, but through Zech's influence, Zen thought otherwise.

If All for One had properly mastered even just a few of his quirks, he would have crushed all his opponents in MHA later in the story. Being aware of his adequacy, Zen decided to train properly this time.

As he willed it, a spiralling bone spear sprouted out of his palm.

"Not bad...." He smiled coldly while testing. Instantly bone spears grew from all around his body - turning him into a human hedgehog.

'I didn't get All for one's memory, so I can only get used to it myself.'

Having more than a hundred years of experience was a lot, All for one might have not cultivated his mastery over quirks - but his battle experience and instincts were top class.

After retracting the bone spears, Zen Shigaraki focused his attention towards the system.

'System? How can I acquire origin points?' He questioned calmly.

[Analyzing....Ding! Origin points can be acquired by moving towards the host's goal of becoming the strongest demon king!]

"Oh? Is that so? Hahaha....I would have done so even with or without the origin points." Both Zech and All for one were obsessed with villains, they fit together perfectly in this regard.

Zen sat down and quickly contemplated his current situation.

There was around a year till the plot of 'The novel's extra' begins. For now, Zen Shigaraki was supposed to be a transfer student.

Through what the modified plot fed to him, Zen was pretty sure that he wouldn't be hunted by the authorities before the end of first year in the cube academy, which gave him around two years of time.

'Though it's a character created by the system....The plot Zen was stronger, seeing he was able to destroy a whole city. Wait....' Zen's mind focused immediately.

"System....Since I'm included in a plot I wasn't supposed to, does it mean Kim Hajin would know about my powers?" He asked seriously.

[Kim Hajin would be aware of the host's gift - All for one. To him, you are a character created by his own hands. He isn't aware of any other gifts the host possesses, at least the current quirks.]

Zen frowned for a second, before relaxing. Accepting the slight disadvantageous information, he continued going into his new memories.

'I'm supposed to be in the same hero military high school as Chae Nayun? He....hahahahaha! System! You have my praise!'

[.....]

Zen Shigaraki liked his current situation very much.

An unimaginable amount of possessiveness rose through him - Chae Nayun could only be his!

He wanted her to belong to him as a whole and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Zech's love transformed into something more treacherous, possessiveness like never rose within him.

Zen was surprised with his changes and began thinking again.

'I can't lock Chae Nayun away like how All for One did with his twin brother. I would have to do it more rationally, more perfectly...'

Laying down on the bed, Zen recalled all the information he could about Chae Nayun. He would operate just like how All for one did in his younger age.

Right at the moment, Zen had no regeneration or even defence type ability. A good shot through his head and he would be dead easily. He couldn't gather any unwanted attention any time soon.

'I will pull the strings from the background and conquer Chae Nayun the quickest way possible.'

To that end, Zen felt that Chae Nayun's current righteous mindset can't match with him, she won't accept him.

A cold smile spread across Zen Shigaraki's face as he got up.

'Then, I will break her and build her up myself with my own hands. This makes me remember how All for One had manipulated Tomura from childhood. I will have to build everything from scratch...' Zen felt restless by wasting his time.

Putting on a black jacket, Zen decided to take a walk. The apartment he currently resided in was pretty big. He didn't lack money through many means, mostly gathered by threatening others.

There was still a week before the hero military high school begins for the final years. Perfect time to start preparing for his ambitions.

'I'm 15 now and haven't really kept a good track record in school. I will need to defeat Nayun to gather her interest for a starter...once it begins, I will drag her down into the abyss.'

People started to clear Zen Shigaraki's way, almost moving away instinctually. The atmosphere, the spirit around him applied a lot of pressure to others. It was as if death was standing right beside them.

Walking around for a while,

Watching the skyscrapers and holograms around the plaza, Zen's face grew blank as he froze.

Throughout his body, a strange sensation rose up. An instinct - Or No, almost like an impulse, flowed through him.

'I thought All for One was screwing with Hawk as he talked around his evil urges in the MHA series but....' Zen turned towards his hand.

Dark urges like never before were bubbling within him. That's when he truly understood what it means to be born evil - it was something primal and...exhilarating.

Taking out his mobile, Zen went through it blankly before finding a location he was looking for. A pest infested area, where people won't care even if he squashed a few of them.

And as he expected, there was always a dark side to everything. Even in Korea, which was the most developed and leading nation in this world - there still existed stains.

Zen Shigaraki headed towards the nearest portal station without hesitation.

'I doubt there will be an Awakener with a gift in there for me to steal, but it's still worth looking through for any luck.'

In this world, there was an awakening phenomenon called 'enlightenment.' Often called the first qualification to becoming a Hero, enlightenment was a form of personal insight said to occur when a person surpassed one's limits.

Active-duty Heroes were all enlightened. But because numerous experiences and training were required to reach enlightenment, most cadets had yet to experience enlightenment. Of course, there were exceptions like Kim Suho or Shin Jonghak. They were enlightened at the age of 15 and 17, respectively.

An enlightened person could see their Gift, skills, and abilities objectively, and thus train more efficiently. Furthermore, enlightenment allowed one to acquire 'clear rewards' from Towers and Dungeons.

The Hero Association called this phenomenon the 'status window.' It was an established fact that a status window could only be seen by its owner.
