That was what Paul Parker had been telling himself in order to keep from getting on board his private jet and going to meddle in his friend's business. He had wanted to go to his friend so many times. But after his friend's continued insistence that it was all for the best, Paul had decided to just sit back and watch.
It had brought him no enjoyment whatsoever. If anything, not interfering had made Paul feel as though he would get premature grey hairs. He had spent countless hours wrecking his brains trying to think of ways to help his friend without being directly involved.
But now he had no choice but to get involved. He had been asked to do so, not just by anyone, but by Millie. And if there was one thing that Paul could never do it would be to disappoint a lady.
Really, he was just doing this because he had been asked no other reason. He would have let Deacon deal with his own stuff had Millie not intervened.
