Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!
As always, Deacon was alone on the tennis court. His only companion was the unfeeling machine feeding him balls to hit. Normally, when Deacon found himself at the tennis court, it was to work out some stress.
But that evening, that was not the case.
He was playing tennis on his own because he just had to process how well things were going.
Deacon's decision to stay married to Haley Slater had not been an easy one. At the time, he had thought of it as choosing the lesser of two evils. Stay married to Haley Slater, or divorce and get married to Ashely Greene, a woman that he barely knew a thing about.
So he had chosen Slater. Preparing to have to grit his teeth each day until the end of the year when the two of them could part ways.
