Haley Slater was a person who enjoyed good food. As a result, she had learned how to cook despite having grown up with an army of staff who could whip up whatever she wanted in a heartbeat. That was why Haley had become the primary cook in their marriage, not because she was a woman and was expected to handle such things traditionally. But because she was genuinely good at it and actually enjoyed doing it.
As much as Haley enjoyed cooking and eating her food though, she also enjoyed having leftovers. There was just something about leftovers that was very comforting.
But ever since getting married to Deacon Roth. Haley had been robbed of the simple pleasure of enjoying leftovers from the food that she cooked. Given that she often left leftovers from the food cooked for the evening, in the morning when she woke up expecting to find some, she would discover that Roth, during his late night exploits had finished everything off.
