Not dramatically weird— just quietly weird. The kind of weird that made me hyper-aware of everything I did. If I walked into a room, he sometimes walked out. If he needed something, he told Cora to tell me instead. And if we accidentally crossed paths in the hallway?
He froze.
Like I was some hazard sign with a warning sticker.
Avoid contact.
Do not approach.
Could accidentally fall on you and kiss you again.
And honestly? I was trying really, really hard to pretend life was normal. But every time I saw him, the memory popped into my brain uninvited like an embarrassing pop-up ad.
So I tried coping the best way I knew how.
Avoid eye contact.
Stay busy.
Focus on tasks.
