3rd Person POV
"How is this possible? Azazel" Baraqiel questioned in shock.
Azazel just shook his head and said "That's what I'm trying to find out. It's a living object able to absorb the concept of the energy source it feeds on and can channel it on its own."
He continued "It even absorbed my light energy and was able to emit its own version of light but I've identified its own signature as Devil Magic. It is capable of absorbing and grasping different types and concept of energies upon contact and assimilating it with itself and emit it as its own Devil Magic"
"Is it like a Sacred Gear or a type of Artifact from the Devils?" Baraqiel asked.
Azazel thought for a second but shook his head in denial saying "It has a living heart so it must be different and it's unique, unlike anything I've seen or heard before."
"We have to destroy it, this could be the Devil's plot. Some kind of super weapon!" Baraqiel stated and Azazel also nodded accepting his conclusion but asked
"The question is how?" Azazel replied while his mind raced to think of a solution or what to do next..
"What do you mean, How?" Baraqiel questioned. Azazel started walking back to his work table and Baraqiel followed him
"Which type of energy or Weapon do we use to destroy it?" Azazel raised his own question for himself but Baraqiel said "Only you can find the answer and it looks dangerous, don't you feel that way?"
"I also want to destroy it but I am also curious to find out more about it. Maybe this could help us" Azazel said
"Or, It could also cause harm to us" Baraqies retorted and Azazel sighed and said "I'll try but, something tells me that the future has changed because of this….. Anyways, what's the latest news?" he asked
Baraqiel started his report "The devils have stabilized the situation from the aftermath of their civil war"
"Well, with those two super devils, it was bound to stabilize soon" Azazel commented thinking about Sirzechs and Ajuka
"What about the Old-Satan faction? Any survivors?" Azazel questioned
"Some were killed, some switched sides and some went into hiding" Baraqiel said and continued "They have adopted a system where four Devil kings are appointed based on power and they will lead the Devil's population. The four Devil kings are Lucifer, Beelzebub, Leviathan, and Asmodeus."
He took a pause and continued "Sirzechs has taken the position of Lucifer, Ajuka as Belbazab, Serafall as Levitane, and finally Falbium as Asmodeus"
"So, Grayfia didn't become Levitane?" Azazel asked curiously to which Baraqiel shook his head and said "Info said that she lost to Serafall"
"Looks like she wasn't motivated for the Devil King position" Azazel commented and moved on and asked "So where do the new Devil Kings stand in the current situation between our three factions?"
"They have lots of internal issues for them right now but, according to intel Sirzechs and Ajuka's main aim for leading the Anti-Satan faction was to stop the war and prevent unnecessary bloodshed." Baraqiel answered
"They are sensible, but we have to keep an eye on them for now to understand their true motives after all they are too powerful to be left unmonitored" Azazel instructed and Baraqiel nodded
And just like that, the cold war settled in between the Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels.
Many Years Later
Azazel was seated in his secret lab writing notes about the new theories he came up with and Baraqiel entered his lab with a few files in hand
Looking at Azazel, Baraqiel commented, "You know that it's your job to run Gregory, right?"
"But it's boring to just focus on that alone" Azazel said with a silly smile while scratching his head.
Baraqiel couldn't say anything because he knew about Azazel's nature and shook his head.
Azazel, seeing Baraqiel here, asked "Anything new?"
"We have started to recruit humans with sacred gears like you asked and our businesses in the human world are also going well." Baraqiel replied while placing a file in front of Azazel
"Nice" he replied and looked into the file, Baraqiel continued with the other information "Angels have also started recruiting humans with sacred gear and there are also some rumors about dark experiments happening in both Angels and Devil's side"
"Well, the Angels have no other option right now except to recruit Sacred Gear users, we can mate with others and have kids and the devils can also do that and also reincarnate others into devils so the church will take action to not fall behind us but, to conduct dark experiments is not something I expected from the church's side" Azazel said while continuing to go through the files
"How are the Devil kings doing?" Azazel questioned.
"They are doing good. Sirzechs is capable of seeing a bigger picture unlike the previous rulers" Baraqies commented
"We have to move towards peace because I doubt our Fallen Angels are capable of surviving another war" Azazel commented and continued going through the file in hand.
"How is your study on the Sacred Gear going?" Baraqiel asked with interest.
"It's a work in progress. I had to say that Dad was something else to come up with this sacred gear system. Too bad he is not alive anymore" Baraqiel was not sure if Azazel was actually sad for God's passing.
Baraqiel sensed Azazel's mood was a bit sore on that topic and changed it to "What about the Black ball?" he asked while looking to the left of Azazel, where a tank was present and the ball was swimming around inside.
Azazel took out a file and gave it to Barquile.
He started reading it which was a list of different types of energy from different sources that were used on the orb. It also contained different weapons that were used on it and wasn't able to scratch the surface of the ball
"So the ball was able to absorb all these kinds of energies and still didn't crack? Even Divine energy?" Baraqiel asked.
"Yes" Azazel replied and walked up to the tank and looked at the orb which was swimming around inside the tank.
"Did you at least find out what it is?" Baraqiel asked to which Azazel didn't turn but replied "After extensive research, the only conclusion I can come up with is, that it is a living thing made by a powerful devil and it's in a sleep state. Not sure when it will wake up"
Azazel's sight continued to follow the orb swimming around which somehow brought a state of peace to his mind.
Baraqiel walked up to his left and asked with worry "What if something bad happens because of it?"
"We can't predict the future, my friend, all we can do is work with what we know and hope for the best" Azazel spoke and, Both looked at Orb swimming around with different thoughts running through their mind.
