Karl's POV
I step out of the bedroom and force myself to breathe deeply, smoothing my expression before heading downstairs. The living room welcomes me with its familiar warmth, and there's Warren sprawled on the couch, fighting sleep as his eyelids flutter shut then snap open again. My heart swells despite everything weighing on my mind.
This little boy represents everything perfect in my world. Sweet, respectful, bursting with life, and completely devoted to his mother just like I am. Sally and I created something incredible together, this amazing child who fills me with overwhelming pride every single day.
I can already picture our future together, watching him discover his strength, meeting his wolf for the first time, guiding him toward the leadership role he was born for. When I look at him, hope cuts through all my fears. Everything will work out somehow.
But first, I need to eliminate the dangers circling us like vultures.
