"That was never my Pack," I snapped, feeling the familiar sting behind my eyes.
"So when you discovered how they manipulated and deceived you your entire life, instead of demanding justice, you chose to flee." His voice carried that infuriating tone of certainty.
"You were the one who told me to leave." My eyes flew open, meeting his piercing gaze.
"Did I really?" Zayden's lips curved slightly. "I presented you with options. Those same choices still exist, yet you consistently choose surrender. Always surrender. You abandon what belongs to you, then you abandon any thought of retribution against those who wronged you. You even abandoned making Grey face consequences for his lies. That's why you remain powerless. You refuse to embrace your true nature. You never allow your wolf to emerge and fight your battles."
