Chapter 3 - Prologue three- Questions, acceptance, System Sheet

[

Year: 2158

[Scene: A research facility, dimly lit with screens flickering with changing images. Several researchers sit at a long table, data pads in hand. A large observation window overlooks a sterile chamber completely white in color, where a young boy stood. Opposite him were ten masters, his trainers in combat. At the head of the table sits a familiar blonde-haired lady, Dr. Elara Garmadon, the lead scientist, and the boy's mother.]

"Begin your reports." Dr. Elara said her voice was colder than normal. Her eyes did not look at her fellow researchers, they were rested on her son. On the currently proceeding combat trial.

Researcher 1 (scrolling through his data pad):

"Doctor, his eidetic retention is… absolute. We confirmed last week's tests—Subject A-01… your son can reproduce entire documents word for word after a single glance. He retains even trivial stimuli with no decay over time. His memory functions less like recall and more like a database."

Researcher 2:

"His physical development is equally anomalous. Despite being eight years of age, his bone density and muscular fiber output rival adolescents nearly twice his size. Yet, curiously, he has not entered abnormal overgrowth, his proportions remain perfectly balanced. It's controlled development."

Researcher 3 (hesitant, then pressing on):

"And the awareness factor… is becoming impossible to dismiss. He notices everything. During observational exercises, he corrects instructors on their posture, on their unconscious tics. Even blindfolded, he identifies individuals entering a room by breath rhythm, gait, or heartbeat. It's as though he never truly 'switches off.'"

"Continue." Dr. Elara smiled slightly. The fight happening below was proceeding as she had expected.

Researcher 2 (flipping to previous combat footage, voice strained with disbelief):

"You should see this. Three trained operatives entered his sparring chamber yesterday. Adults, each with years of military conditioning. He not only anticipated their movements—he dismantled them. Precision strikes, full control of micro-muscle groups. He can relax and contract fibers selectively, generating bursts of speed far beyond baseline human reflex."

Researcher 1 (nodding grimly):

"He doesn't waste motion. Every gesture is optimized. Where an ordinary fighter reacts, he predicts. His awareness extends seconds into the fight—as if he's running simulations in his mind faster than the opponent can act."

Researcher 3 (lowering his tone):

"Doctor… he's eight. He shouldn't even understand biomechanics, yet he adapts instinctively. Some of the staff are unsettled—if this continues, there won't be any human frame of reference left to compare him to."

[Silence hangs heavy in the room. All eyes shift to Dr. Elara.]

The combat trial was over, and now ten bodies sprawled the confines of the white grounds. Most of the bodies lay passed out with strained faces and the few stronger ones were groaning in pain. Dr. Elara watched this with satisfaction. Her hand came forward and rested on the one-way glass image, as if she were reaching out to her son.

Surprisingly, the boy turned in her direction. And it was like he was looking right at her. He raised his right hand in her direction as if reaching out to a figure he knew was there. This action made Dr. Elara smile further.

 _______________DREA OF INFINITY______________

LOCATION: UNKNOWN

TIME: INFINITY

It felt like he was floating as if he was dreaming of a far-distant memory once again.

' Come my darling Mika, come I tell you a story.' he remembered a distance past. Simpler times he would listen to his mother talk for hours and would never tire of it.

'Why do you think humanity can achieve so much Mika? 'His mother had asked his young self. The stars above reflecting from his expressive eyes. And Mikael had urged his mother to continue.

'It's because humanity can dream Mikael. Dream and desire for the impossible and make it possible.' His mother had then pointed a finger at his heart, a gentle smile on her face.

'That's why Mika, never be afraid to dream the impossible. Never stop being a dreamer'

His mother's voice started to fade, and Mikael regained a hint of lucidity from his earlier dream.

[RETRIEVING INFORMATION ....]

'He was dead or at least he thought he was.' What other reason could there be for him to start recalling these memories. But everything was coming back, he was quickly recalling what had happened.

[RETRIEVING INFORMATION ....]

' I killed Loannis ' Mikael recalled. Both the satisfaction and blankness he felt at that moment coming back to him. But the satisfaction was far greater.

[SEARCH COMPLETE ...]

'And before the explosion could kill me, time stopped.' Mikael was sure of this; his perfect memory allowed him to be sure of this. What he knew was that this was not a result of his doing.

[COMPILING RELEVANT DATA ...]

'Hmmm' Mikael now paid attention to the words that had been going on in his mind. At first, due to his somewhat hazy state, he believed this to be a sort of hallucination before death. But with his memories fully in state now, he believed that things might have gotten more complicated.

[PROCESS COMPLETE !!!!]

[THEODOROS MIKAEL GARMADON, YOU HAVE BEEN FOUND WORTHY TO BE A DREAMER OF THE TOWER OF DREAM]]

Mikael could only 'watch' calmly in both confusion and slight awe. His inner emotions more turmoil.

[[IF YOU DO ACCEPT THIS WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A SECOND CHANCE]]

[RICHES!!! FAME!!! LOVE!!! POWER!!!]

[[ALL THESE YOU WILL ACQUIRE!]]

[I THEREFORE ASK, DO YOU WISH TO LIVE, TO BE THE MOST WORTHY!!]]

Was he going crazy? Did the shock of death shake his brain to the point that he started hallucinating voices?

But that couldn't be. If there was one thing he was confident in, it was his mental abilities. Or more precisely the level of control he had over his mind.

Mika was the only one who understood the level of control he had over his mind, so the prospect of someone influencing him was close to impossible.

Or was it Loannis? Was he the one doing this? Did he somehow survive both the explosion and his head being crushed?

No, that should be impossible. If he had died, the chances of that weakling Loannis surviving were zero.

"What is this?" He spoke, and that fact confused him even more.

[[THEODOROS MIKAEL GARMADON. YOU HAVE UNFORTUNATELY MET YOUR UNTIMELY DEATH ON YOUR HOME PLANET. YOUR SOUL IS NOW WANDERING IN THE INFINITE NOTHINGNESS REFERRED TO AS THE DIMENSIONAL GAP.]]

So, whatever was talking to him was not Loannis, especially considering that the voice was speaking to him in a non-mocking tone.

Mikael tried to move to look around or at least touch something, but that proved to be unsuccessful. What was he even now?

He 'looked' once more at the blue screen in his 'mind?' more curious about his situation than afraid.

"What do you want?" He had to start somewhere. And knowing whatever the voice wanted was a good point.

[[OUR PURPOSE IS TO RECRUIT WORTHY BEINGS WHO HAVE DIED ON THEIR HOME PLANETS TO THE TOWER OF DREAM, TO PARTICIPATE AS DREAMERS.]]

The voice only made him more confused. So he was being recruited, was that the reason he was not dead yet. And how exactly advanced were these people to be able to save people from dying to recruit them. What he was sure of was that there was no such organization in his World.

"What is the Tower of Dream?" A spark of curiosity was growing in Mikael.

[[THE TOWER OF DREAM IS A SEPARATE SUPREME REALM EXISTING WITHIN THE INFINITE NOTHINGNESS. IT IS A HUB CONNECTED TO OTHER LOWER RANDOM WORLDS THAT EXIST OUTSIDE THE NOTHINGNESS.]]

"How is one considered to be a Dreamer?" An image formed in his mind as the voice spoke.

[[THE TOWER OF DREAM HAS SEVERAL REQUIREMENTS, BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT ONES ARE ONLY TWO: WORTH AND AN INNATE ABILITY.]]

Mikael felt the voice wanted him to speak, to ask a question as it said these words.

"What do you mean by worth and an innate ability?"

[[WORTH IS CLASSIFIED USING THE ACCUMULATION OF ALL YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCE FROM YOUR HOME PLANET. IT CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A POINT VALUE SUMMING UP YOUR LEVEL OF RELEVANCY. IT IS ALSO INFLUENCED BY YOUR INNATE ABILITY AND THE PERIOD YOU CAN MAINTAIN YOUR EGO WHILE FLOATING IN THE INFINITE NOTHINGNESS. AN INNATE ABILITY CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS THE CRYSTALISATION OF THIS EXPERIENCE AFTER THE DEATH OF A HUMAN BEING. THE WORTH AND THE INNATE ABILITY OF A CONTESTANT ARE INTERTWINED]]

It was an interesting way to classify things. To Mikaels understanding, such as system would heavily favor the exceptional, while the mediocre would either die off or be forced to adapt.

"What benefit does having a high worth value give you. "Mikael believed it would be something special. With how much priority the voice had given he expected it to be so.

[[THE BENEFIT OF HAVING HIGH WORTH IS THE PRIVILEGE IT WILL GIVE YOU]]

'How unfair.' Mikael thought, but the smile on his face spoke of how much he liked such a method. He was the Worthiest after all.

"What's the main purpose of Dreamers then? "Mikael was quite curious on this end. He understood the voice was recruiting contestants to go to the tower of dream of sorts, but for what purpose exactly?

[[A DREAMER'S MAIN PURPOSE IS TO SURVIVE, ADAPT AND FURTHER EVOLVE. THIS CONTINOUS PROCESS ALLOWS FOR CONTESTNATS TO SURVIVE THE INFINITE POSSIBLE REALMS THEY MAY BE SENT ON FOR A MISSION BY THE SYSTEM. EITHER TO GATHER RESOURCES TO KILL OR TO EXPLORE. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE COUNTLESS]]

The thought of visiting different worlds piqued his curiosity. He did not really feel much on the part of being given missions. But Mikael felt a certain resonance with the purpose of this dreamers, it simply called to him.

"What would you classify your nature as?" This question was loaded with hidden traps. Mikael needed to discern the beings standing from its answer. That was what would determine any further negotiations would go. It had already caught his attention, with its words that were like music to his ears. And Mikael prefers not to be throwing himself into the hands of a possible evil sort of demon.

He felt a shift in his surroundings, as if something he was unaware of had occurred. The voice that answered him next seemed different, more... organic? It was like a new ego was talking to him.

[[WE ARE NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD. ORDER AND CHAOS CANNOT EXPLAIN OUR EXISTENCE BUT THERE ARE SIMPLE CONCEPTS BORN FROM OUR VERY ACTIONS. OUR TRUE NATURE IS ONLY POWER! ONLY POWER DEFINES OUR BEING, AND THROUGH THAT POWER, YOU CAN COMPREHEND OUR EXISTENCE!]]

Mikael felt a chill run down his body. He did not understand why. But the being's word had a sudden threat that he instinctually felt. It was odd. Despite being given a neutral standpoint, Mikael felt there was something else at play. Something he might have not known or failed to deduce from the moment the being had started speaking. And Mikael would be a true fool if he believed everything the voice said. Words were nothing more than that. Useless.

"What happens if I refuse your offer?" He asked this mostly as a sort of sick thrill seeking.

There was another shift in the air, a rising tension that resulted from his words. Mikael was sure of it now. What he was unsure of was where specifically the danger was from. Was it from the being or was it from elsewhere?

[[YOUR VERY BEING WOULD CONTINUE TO DRIFT IN THIS INFINITE NOTHINGNESS FOR ETERNITY. THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO YOUR EXISTENCE BEING ERADICATED OR YOUR SLOW SLIDE INTO MADNESS DUE TO MEMORY LOSS UNTIL YOU BECOME A HUSK, LACKING AN ANCHOR TO MAINTAIN YOUR SENSE OF SELF!]]

Mika could feel the underlying threat from the entity. A sudden shudder rushed through him, but he quickly suppressed the feeling. He chuckled at the danger clearly laid out to him.

The silence stretched for what seemed like an infinite amount of time before refocusing back on them. But in that silence, Mikael found himself in deep thought, plotting, scheming, thinking whether such a bargain was worth it.

"I have one final question, after which I will give you an answer... Why are you doing this, and... what ARE YOU?!" What exactly was this being? Could this have been God?

This was what he was most curious about. From the voices' own words, nothing and no one should be able to survive in this gap of nothingness, so what did it mean for the voice to exist? And what were its goals in doing what it was doing? Mikael had too many questions and he knew too little to come to any solid conclusion.

There was silence, but both could feel the unspoken tension. Mikael sensed it differently; it was as if the Being were waiting for this very moment. A turning point had been reached in this whole conversation. Things were progressing in a way Mikael could neither foresee nor plan for.

[[WE ARE THE SUPREME ONE. A HIGHER EXISTENCE WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO PRESIDE OVER THE TOWER OF DREAMS. WE SCOUR THE INFINITE NOTHINGNESS IN SEARCH OF WORTHY CONTESTANTS. OUR GOAL IN DOING ALL THIS... ENTERTAINMENT AND EVOLUTION!!!]]

The being spoken, its voice booming in a chorus of multiple voices that joined together into one loud sound. A sound Mikael could only find madness from, it was odd. For a mere voice to make him feel such a way. It was disgusting!

Mika felt that this was the truest answer the voice would give him. Anything else would be a lie or a half-truth.

But his curiosity persisted, the answer the being gave barely answered the inner turmoil he had within.

Could the being have such a shallow reason for doing what it was doing? Was this all nothing more than a game to this god? Mikael could only assume so.

Now, with all the information he had been given, a decision needed to be made. He could either refuse and drift eternally in this infinite dark place, or he could accept and go to the Tower of dream, as the being had said.

It could all also be a lie and nothing at all could happen. Things could go either way.

But Mikael was sure of something, call it an instinct but at some point, the being had lied about something. An exceedingly small detail in what it said was deceitful, and he could sense it in his gut. He thought about it and then threw the idea to the back of his mind.

Whether the being was lying or not wouldn't help his current situation.

Thinking it through, if he accepted, he would be avoiding erasure from existence, and the being would also acquire its so-called "entertainment and evolution." They would both benefit from that scenario.

But if he denied, only he would suffer the loss...

It suddenly clicked. Yes, what exactly would the being lose from his denial?

"What do you lose in all of this if I refuse?" This was the question he should have asked from the beginning. It would reveal the level of importance the being had in recruiting him.

But the answer never came.

Silence persisted for a while, and he realized he wouldn't be given an answer. But silence was the answer. For Mikael, silence was enough of an answer.

"Truly interesting."

It indicated that the being also had something to lose if he refused. But was that truly the case?

Would he take that chance? There was no more hesitation in his mind; the answer had been clear from the very start.

"I ACCEPT!"

Mikael had decided to dream once more. To make this impossible situation into a possibility and see how it would take him. Whether in death or glory, only time would tell.

A burning heat suddenly came from where he knew his arm was supposed to be, the back of his hand more specifically.

He could finally see something different in this infinite dark. A bloody red symbol had appeared on his hand, the symbol was of a tower, great ancient and powerful. It somehow gave of the feeling that it held great secrets, and a sort of ancient savagery that defined its existence.

Once again, a flash of light came, taking his attention away from the Tower. The light persisted for a short while until it finally dulled, and Mikael saw a large golden door appear before him.

It was large and great, also having the same ancient aura the tower symbol had possessed. On its golden surface were images of a battle, a battle of countless beings, animals he had never seen, creatures he had only known from stories and humans also equally dressed oddly. The battle was so great that the very land cracked, the sky was split and the unworthy died. These images flashed in Mikaels mind, forcefully and he was unable to stop them. As if he were in a trance.

His eyes then forcefully moved away and were attracted by a set of words on the golden doors. But these words were an oddity on the golden door. Their color was in red, dark red that seemed to hold blood, war, and slaughter within it.

[["The very first dream to come into existence was that of Rebellion!" ]]

It was like these words had been uttered right next to his ears. Like the speaker had been talking directly at him, directly in his mind. He wanted to leave this place instantly; he suddenly had the odd feeling that he was being watched!

**SKILLS**

AUGMENTATION

Typer: Active/Passive

Description: is the deliberate, controlled amplification of Mikael's body and mind beyond natural limits. Unlike normal combat techniques that rely on brute force, Augmentation uses precise control over every muscle fiber, nerve impulse, and brain pattern to push performance into a superhuman state—without wasting energy.

Effects:

Primary Functions

Physical Amplification Mikael can enhance raw stats such as Strength, Agility, and Physique by consciously overclocking his body. Enhancement Ratio: +1 stat point per 5% increase. Current Safe Limit: +50% boost Neurological Overdrive By altering brain activity, Mikael can speed up reaction time, processing speed, and memory recall. Creates the illusion of "time slowing down" from his perspective (synergy with Overclock subskill). Risk: Neural fatigue and migraines if overused. Biometabolic Control Augmentation doesn't just burn through energy, it optimizes oxygen use, blood flow, and muscular exertion. Can temporarily suppress pain or delay fatigue by controlling lactic acid build-up. Grants enhanced stamina and combat longevity when fighting multiple foes.

The skill offers a variety of subskills such as:

Hardening: Crystallizes muscle fibers into a semi-rigid state, creating natural armor.

Predator Eye: Pupils narrow, enhancing target focus and tracking.

Overclock: The brain of the user goes into a state of hyperactivity, and this causes a state of increased perception as time seemingly stops in the users' eyes.

Meta eye: Expands visual intake—processing large-scale information across the battlefield.

Pulse control: Control of heartbeat and blood flow.

Requirements: Innate ability- Supreme Body control

Attributes: None

**WARNING: ** Using this skill beyond 50% will cause damage to the body. Use of this skill 100% will completely damage the part of the body the skill is used on.

CALM MIND

Type: Active

Description: Instantly stabilizes emotional/mental state. Counters fear, panic, and mental interference.

Effects:

Mental Stabilization: Instantly negates panic, fear effects, and emotional manipulation. Focus Boost: +20% Perception while active, enabling clearer danger sense and sharper awareness.

Requirements: Perception-30, Innate ability-supreme body control

Attributes:

Consumes 40 units of SP per use

Consumes 10 units of MP per use

WARNING!!!: Prolonged reliance may lead to emotional detachment, dulling empathy and weakening Charm interactions.

ITEMS: NONE

Author's Note:

Normal Dreamers typically have their stats in the range of 5- 8 , 9- 13 is considered as the level of trained athlete or even soldiers and can be considered as trained martial artists or peak athletes. Anything above 13 is abnormal. The main character (MC) previously had values ranging in thirties, but after the removal of cybernetics, those values have decreased. The bracketed value represents where the system points are supposed to be added. In short, the points are digitalized values, but they still add to a contestant's stats. The better base stats you have the better. And for passive attributes, the stats will add directly. Passive attributes can only be increased through equipment, unique events or directly awarded by the system, while active attributes require completion of missions or other equally unique events to be acquired. There were also problems during the computing of the innate ability, there are reasons for this as well as reasons why Mikael has errors in his ability section. There are also reasons for this.
