Chapter 1 - Reincarnation

Hi.

...

Sooooo, here is the thing.

I am dead. Have been for a while, I think.

My name? Not important anymore.

It had always been something that was unnecessary for me, though for the convenience of others, I usually went by Alex. A name as neutral as it could be.

I was rather happy in my last life. Average and unsatisfied, but happy. I had a family that loved me, stupid impulse decisions that kept me up at night and an unhealthy obsession with a certain anime character. A real Dilf that one....

Anyway, so here I am. How did I die? No clue. I'm just staring out into the void.....

No. Let me correct myself. It's not just the void I'm looking at. There is some kind of grey boarder separating it from a different place. That place has hundreds, if not thousands of little lights glowing there. As curious as I was dead, I approached that barrier. At first it was hard, harder than any material I had ever felt but eventually it gave way and I stumbled inside. My rather unceremonious entry left a small gap behind, one that quickly sealed itself. What I didn't know however, was that during the few seconds before it had sealed itself behind me, two small and one large glowing streak of light had existed from the center of the void. One was Gold, another silver and the last one was a mix of sickly neon green and purple. They merged seamlessly with me, without me even noticing.

Once that gap had closed itself, I who was still in motion like I had entered zero gravity, began to rapidly accelerate. We're talking here zero to faster than lightspeed in a few seconds. Those glowy dots began to grow at an observable pace before they suddenly began to shrink again.

At first it wasn't that bad. It felt like I was hit by several small flashlights. But then it escalated quickly. It began to feel like someone had decided to put together flashbangs in a bundle and ignited them with a slight, timed deviation. Then some colours began to bleed in and I was suddenly feeling like I was stuck in a kaleidoscope. *Shapes and colours*

No, seriously. It only took five minutes before my eyes, did I even have eyes? began to hurt. Then suddenly I felt as if some form of phantom pressure was pressing against my back. And boom....lights out.

Do you know how disorienting it is to leave a bright room and suddenly everything is dark?

Yeah, needless to say, I felt like some asshole just jammed an entire kaleidoscope behind my eyelids and is that orange I'm tasting? Why am I tasting colour? I might be dead but I definitely know I never could do that before.

Finally, after what felt like hours, I felt my heartbeat steady and the flash induced blindness stopped. I slowly began to open my eyes and hey, since when do souls have eyes? The fuck?

Please don't tell me I'm alive again?!

A continuous, repeated ringing close to my head spelled doom for my mental health.

That was an alarm clock, I was sure of it. So of course I wasn't surprised when I turned my head and saw the most ugly little alarm clock I had ever seen in my life. Who in their right mind would put so many different clashing colours on a single piece. Blue, red and Yellow? Are you insane? They don't even fit together that nicely....

Why does the clock have something looking like bunny ears?

Oh fuck. It's 06:35 a.m. Gotta stand up now. I don't know why that clock is ringing, but one thing is for sure. I either have a job, or I am still a student. I pray it's the former. School always felt like it was sucking out my soul.

So, knowing my soon to be future and hoping it wasn't what I thought it was, I got up and....why is everything so big? I could have sworn that stool looked like it belonged to a giant.....

A growing sense of unease spread from my stomach through my chest and crept onto my facial expression. No no no no no! Please no! I can't deal with this a second time! I wanted to scream but instead, my voice remained silent. I stead my little feet carried me quickly to a door I knew hid the bathroom behind it and low and behold.....

Why do I have green hair? That's not normal, is it? No, no I knew it wasn't. Wait....I think I know that face from somewhere but something is off....

Let's think this through, slowly.

Blue, red and yellow alarm clock, possibly bunny ears, or were those hair? Small and green hair? And a child too.....

Well fuck me....I'm not Midory Izuku, am I? Quirk less extraordinar, fragile like a dry twig and in total denial to my social standing and gone friend groups. Sadly, as the realisation set in that I was one hundred percent right, I felt as if the world around me had grown to a dangerous degree. Midoriya Izuku was not me. While he was able to go on out of pure denial, or oblivious desire, I knew what would happen. Knew what he had had to do to achieve and enter UA. And I knew I wouldn't do any of that. I won't sacrifice myself to safe a bully, especially not one like Bakugo. I knew I wouldn't depend on anyone telling me I could be a hero. I knew I could, if I just tried. But the problem wasn't in trying, it was in finding someone or somewhere that would actually be willing to teach and train me.

No, ....I thought....his future is not something I can achieve on my own. At least not in the same why he would have done.

Hell, I didn't even want to be a hero. In fact, when I had first heard of My Hero Academia, I had hated the concept of heros. In my eyes, a hero doesn't need qualifications, nor should a hero be prevented from doing what was necessary by the law.....The biggest issue I had, however, was that a hero shouldn't be financed and paid by the government.

My thoughts, devolving into rambling, were suddenly disturbed by a single *Ding* sound.

I refocused my eyes Infront of me.
