"We've arrived at Azkaban, Adam. Take Peter's mother inside and make sure to stay close to her to prevent any issues. I'll head to the execution grounds to find the captain and the others first."
"Control the time well; the reporters will be here soon. Today's execution is being broadcast live, so absolutely no mistakes."
The Auror named Adam nodded and led Peter's mother towards the cells.
Peter's mother gripped the cane in her hand, her expression calm as she followed behind him, showing no signs of anything amiss.
She let out a heavy sigh of relief in her heart.
Everything that needed to be brought in was in. The effects of Felix Felicis were indeed powerful; whenever the other party was about to check for contraband, their attention would be diverted by her words.
Half of the escape plan had succeeded; now it depended on the remaining performance.
Peter's mother looked at the figure leading the way and wondered if she should directly use the spare wand hidden in her cane to strike a harsh blow now.
However, the feeling from the Felix Felicis told her that the other party was still maintaining a certain level of vigilance, and now was not a good time to act.
Even in June, Azkaban still exuded a chillingly dark aura. Thick clouds almost perpetually obscured the sky, and it was rare to see a ray of sunlight.
The air was filled with damp, cold moisture, like invisible fingers tracing across the skin, causing one to shiver involuntarily. This cold, gloomy atmosphere seemed to constantly remind visitors that this was never a comfortable place.
As many prisoners had left their cells for daily work, the entire prison was eerily quiet.
Water droplets occasionally dripped from the damp stone walls, echoing dully in the silent corridor.
Occasionally, the piercing howls of serious offenders would come from deep within the prison, sounds that seemed to emanate from the depths of hell, carrying despair and madness.
Peter's mother was already accustomed to such scenes, but the thought of her child being imprisoned here for nearly a month made her heart ache.
"As soon as eight o'clock strikes, I must take Peter to another location."
Adam opened Pettigrew's cell door and instructed Peter's mother.
"Talk well if you have anything to say, and eat the food while it's hot. Cherish these thirty minutes."
Having accepted Galleons from her, Adam's attitude was still gentle. He looked sympathetically at the mother and son in the cell, then held his wand, blocking the cell door.
This was a special cell where prisoners could not perform Animagus transformations, making it perfectly suited for holding Pettigrew.
Upon seeing Pettigrew huddled in the corner of the cell, Peter's mother could no longer hold back and immediately embraced him, sobbing softly.
Pettigrew was also in tears, continuously patting his mother's back, trying to soothe her sorrow.
"Peter, listen to Mummy," Peter's mother whispered into Peter's ear, in a voice only the two of them could hear, "I'm going to take you out of this place."
Escape this place?
How can that be done?
Pettigrew was anxious, but he dared not show any flaws, lest the Auror at the cell door discover something amiss.
"Peter, listen, at the bottom of the lunchbox I brought you, there's a top-tier protective badge that can resist most offensive spells for a certain period."
"You eat first, and then secretly put the badge in your mouth at the end of the meal, that way your safety will be guaranteed."
"Additionally, I have a false tooth in my mouth, which is a timed Portkey. It activates at eight o'clock. As long as we hold out until then, we can safely apparate away."
Saying this, Peter's mother took advantage of being turned away from the Auror to pry out the false tooth from her mouth and secretly slip it into Peter's hand.
Only when she saw the false tooth tightly clutched by Pettigrew did Peter's mother finally relax considerably.
She straightened up, picked up the lunchbox placed nearby in front of the Auror, and handed it to Peter.
"Eat, my child, this is what Mummy specially made for you; it's all your favorite food from when you were little."
Since there were no utensils, Pettigrew directly grabbed the food from the box with his hands and began eating heartily.
Soon, he discovered the defensive badge at the bottom of the lunchbox, and then, using the cover of the lunchbox, he put both the badge and the food into his mouth.
Peter's mother sat beside him, constantly pulling him into conversation about things from his childhood.
Adam did not notice the small actions between the mother and son; instead, he was filled with emotion over their bond.
Thirty minutes flew by, and Adam, hardening his heart, interrupted the conversation between the mother and son.
"Alright, Madam, time's almost up, we must go."
"Sir, it's still five minutes to eight. Please, just let me spend a little more time with my child," Peter's mother continuously sobbed.
Adam shook his head: "Don't make this difficult for me, Madam. I must take you out of here now. Five minutes is only enough for me to go back and forth once."
Peter's mother burst into tears, trembled as she stood up, and leaning on her cane, walked out of the cell door.
Seeing Peter's mother so cooperative, Adam slightly lowered his guard. He turned around, just about to lock Peter's cell door, when he heard a vicious voice from behind him.
"Stupefy!"
Crack—
A protective item on Adam shattered, blocking the powerful spell.
The sudden turn of events stunned Adam.
What's going on? She had another wand hidden?
Damn it, I was only focused on collecting the money and didn't check carefully.
An enraged Adam spun around, raising his wand to retaliate, but before he could cast a spell, he was tightly embraced from behind.
Pettigrew used all his strength, making it impossible for the other party to break free for a moment.
"Mom, now!"
Peter's mother dared not delay, continuously casting spells at Adam. With her mind set and his unprepared, Adam's protective items quickly ran out, and he was hit by a spell and immediately fainted.
"Damn it, there's less than five minutes left, why won't they even give us that much time."
Peter's mother spat angrily, then pulled Pettigrew back into the cell to hide.
She knew that the commotion just now was very loud and would certainly not escape the Aurors at the execution grounds.
She first used a smoke spell to fill the corridor with smoke, then gripped her wand, staring intently in the direction they had come from.
When she heard the sound of chaotic footsteps, Peter's mother did not hesitate, casting a blasting spell forward.
"Confringo!"
Accompanied by tragic screams and ear-splitting roars, a section of the distant cells collapsed.
It worked!
Peter's mother had just breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a blinding spell fly out of the smoke, striking her directly.
The blow, filled with anger, caused Peter's mother immense pain.
Ah ah ah ah ah—
The intense pain made her scream piercingly. Deep wounds had been blasted open on her chest, blood continuously flowing out, instantly staining the front of her clothes red.
Due to her severe injuries, she could no longer stand and could only lie weakly in Peter's arms.
Pettigrew, as if crazy, freed one hand, picked up his mother's cane, and continuously unleashed blasting spells towards the door.
For a time, the roaring sounds were incessant, and the violent explosions literally halted the Aurors' advance.
Time slowly reached eight o'clock, the Portkey activated, and Peter and his mother instantly vanished from the cell.
