[1st POV]
"This is unreal..." Naruto said with shaky eyes and beads of sweat falling down his face.
"So this is the level of a jonin. An elite shinobi," Sakura said with a gulp.
Sasuke gritted his teeth and stared at the ongoing fight intently. But you could tell from his face that he was just as shocked as the rest of us.
Mr Tazuna too was having a breakdown. To see this display of strength was one thing but to know that one of these monsters was after your life was another.
"Can you see the fight Suyou?" Naruto asked me. I gave a nod.
"What's happening?"
With the naked eye, the only thing a civilian would see was the explosion of water and the blur of two figures clashing many times in seconds. The occasional cry of lightning and the howling of winds was the only tell that jutsus were thrown left and right in this fight.
I could follow the fight but it was hard even for me. Kakashi and Zabuza were not just jonin. They were classified in that rank only because there was nothing higher. They were one of the strongest people in this universe.
"They are clashing equally. Kakashi is not losing but he is not winning either. The Sharingan is helping him keeping up with the water advantage Zabuza has. He is copying water jutsu and counter jutsu because the eye could tell beforehand what Zabuza is going to use," I informed them of what was happening.
The fight was way out of proportion. The anime truly did not do justice to the level of these fights and neither did the still images of the manga page. Or perhaps I was in an alternate universe entirely because what I was witnessing was a battle that could level a city if it took place there.
I couldn't help but imagine a war. The shinobi war. Where multiple jonin were fighting at the same time. What a sight must that be, especially to weaker shinobi.
"Wow, the Sharingan must be very strong then," Naruto said in wonder.
"Of course it is," Sasuke added.
"It's crazy to think that Kakashi is not the strongest wielder of the Sharingan either. He is not an Uchiha and cannot exploit all its advantages," I said.
"There is someone stronger than Kakashi out there who has the Sharingan?" Naruto asked.
I nod, "There is one," I eyed Sasuke briefly, his face turning hateful simply at the mental image of his brother.
"And I heard he is much, much stronger than even Kakashi," I said.
We continued being the spectators of the battle. The fight did not last long due to the sheer speed. After the second minute, Kakashi was making mistakes here and there.
"No!! It's a trap!!" I screamed when I saw Kakashi going all in on a water clone.
I did not know why Kakashi was getting sloppy. But I assumed it was the strain of the Sharingan and the shortage of chakra. Kakashi was fast, but he was nowhere near his prime.
In the end, Kakashi was caught in a Water Prison Jutsu. It was a simple C-rank jutsu but only because of its non combat nature. An expert could use the jutsu as effectively as any A-rank jutsu.
Kakashi was caught inside the water prison.
"Stay on guard!!" I shout before using the Body Flicker to shoot towards the battle.
The Water Prison Jutsu required constant contact to keep strong. So while Zabuza was maintaining the jutsu, one arm was occupied so that left openings in his form.
I made a shadow clone and sent my clone to engage. On the other hand, I slipped underwater and used my chakra to propel myself forward like a torpedo.
"You again?" Zabuza said and dodged the shuriken I threw at him. He caught the last one between his teeth.
My clone brought out a kunai and aimed to slice the arm that was maintaining the jutsu. The goal here was to free Kakashi.
But Zabuza simply moved his arm, the water prison along with it, and used that as a weapon to swing at me. I stopped and was barely out of range from the swing. But that was not over because his sword came right through the water prison and impaled me on my abdomen.
My clone exploded in a burst of smoke.
"A clone?" Zabuza said before looking down.
He jumped away and broke his water prison when he saw a tornado begin forming in the water. He probably thought it was a water jutsu but I was building up something else. This was just the consequence of my jutsu.
The small disturbance of water quickly grew into a whirlpool that was affecting the surface of the lake. So much so that maintaining chakra and standing on water became difficult.
Kakashi did not waste time after he was freed. He took out a scroll from his pocket and summoned his dogs.
He and his summoned dogs blurred and went towards Zabuza. The dogs could blitz underwater and even ran on the surface of the water.
Zabuza was in a state of panic. He swung his sword but hit air. The dogs quickly bit him all over his body. They applied chakra in their fangs to immobilize Zabuza for a while. Kakashi popped out from the water behind him and strangled him too.
"Do it now Suyou!!" Kakashi screamed.
And I followed suit. I emerged from the water like a torpedo. In my right hand was a ball of chakra that was greenish in colour. The rasengan was basically the colour of your chakra so the colour varied.
I shot out, the rasengan, which I did not have perfect control of yet made the water scream.
Zabuza could not dodge this one.
"Rasengan," I slammed the rasengan right on his chest.
There was a pause.
Zabuza doubled down and spat blood.
And then..
BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
The water exploded due to an immense shockwave, and Zabuza was spat out like a cannon. The rasengan stuck on his chest as it folded his body and continued flying.
His body was thrown outside the lake and continued on, even in the forest. Many trees fell, and explosions happened in a line as he was shot out nearly a kilometre away.
Kakashi and I followed after him immediately.
It took only a few seconds before we found Zabuza's corpse. The rasengan carried him far and through rocks and trees. The crash site had a deep crater and cracks all over. Some trees had fallen over, and his body, too, had giant splinters that penetrated him.
But his corpse was not the only thing we found.
We saw another person standing over his corpse. I immediately recognised Haku and his mask.
I was going to attack him, too, but Kakashi stopped me by holding my hand.
"Stop Suyou, that's a shinobi from the Hidden Mist," he said and pointed at the insignia that was printed on the mask.
Yeah, I was not buying that.
"Thank you for your service. The rogue nin is dead, so I will take it from here," Haku said with a bow.
"Who are you?" I asked.
Kakashi answered my question, "That is a hunter-nin of the Mist village. They seek to kill rogue shinobi and dispose of their corpses so no village information can be retrieved from their body."
"That is so," Haku said.
Kakashi stepped forward and checked the pulse of Zabuza. The body was traumatised, with splinters inside his body and a deep and nasty cavity of wounds in his chest. That was where my rasengan hit.
But I also noticed the ice senbon, a needle that had penetrated Zabuza's neck.
Kakashi stood back up and looked at me, "He is dead."
"Really?"
"Yes," Kakashi confirmed.
I stepped forward, creating another rasengan with one hand. I stepped in front of Zabuza's lifeless corpse and looked at Haku.
"Then you wouldn't mind if I did this," I said and moved in a blur. I aimed the rasengan at his face this time.
It was bound to obliterate his head instantly.
But then an ice needle found its mark at my elbow. My arms went limp and I fell over, missing Zabuza's head and the rasengan exploding right beside him.
"Suyou!!"
Haku moved in a blur and quickly retrieved Zabuza's body before running away.
"I knew it!!" I said and took out the needle before following him.
Kakashi tried to follow suit, but he stopped and clutched his eye. Fucking Sharingan. That was why you shouldn't put other people's body parts on you.
I had knowledge of the canon, so I was determined not to let them get away. I would end this before things escalated. We never knew how things would proceed from here.
But perhaps I was too focused.
Because I tripped on a wire while I was moving from tree to tree.
My instincts flared, and my Susanoo came to cover my whole body. A wave of kunai with tags was thrown at me and exploded. I was protected inside my Susanoo, but my body was thrown away by the explosions.
I fell.
"Goddamn it," I cursed out, sitting up and slowly merging the Susanoo inside my body again.
But by that point, Haku and Zabuza were out of my range. I slammed the ground with my fist in frustration.
