It was quite a challenge to make all this people to get onto the buses, and have them endure an hour—or even several hours—of travel toward the port. But they had no choice; it was their only chance to escape a literal fate of being food for the living dead. So, despite the logistical headaches, they managed to pull it off.

Naturally, we had to quickly and somewhat clumsily check the entire shopping mall several times to ensure no children or even adults had wandered off. But it seemed everyone was too relieved and excited to leave such a dangerous city behind, so we didn't find a single soul left behind in the mall.

The second major issue was the sheer noise generated by dozens of various vehicles. Just as I and the others began to worry about it, Isao-chan simply said he'd handle everything. Instead of riding in his Humvee—or rather, the Humvee he'd borrowed from Rika Minami—he decided to sit on the roof of a bus near the center of the column.

At first, I didn't understand what he was planning, but as soon as he climbed onto the roof, donned his armor, and began to float, the meaning of his actions became clear. He could simply bombard any zombies that dared to run toward us from above.

It was amazing—just how strong he was, how incredible his powers were, and the fact that he turned out to be such a kind young man rather than someone harboring evil in his heart, like the Shido family or other such scum. It was all truly remarkable, and I couldn't help but be glad that his mother had raised such a wonderful young man.

I... enjoyed being with him. Working alongside him didn't feel like a chore or a "drag," as it had with Souichiro. With Soichiro, I was just a computer function without a voice—just provide the necessary information and execute the task exactly as he commanded. But with Isao-chan... he trusted me. He trusted me to carry out whatever task was needed and let me handle those tasks while he was occupied with other matters.

Working with him and for him, I was able to feel his trust and honesty for her decisions. Not to mention, he hid nothing from me, sharing almost all the information he possessed and answering all my questions without a hint of hesitation.

Honestly, it made my rather mature heart flutter. Then I remembered how... I had satisfied him.

My hands tightened slightly on the steering wheel, and my cheeks flushed. The absence of my wedding ring on the ring finger of my right hand felt like a form of freedom.

I recalled his taste, his scent... the consistency of his seed, and I smiled quietly to myself. I looked at my daughter in the rearview mirror, saw her stubborn gaze, and smiled.

Feeling the competitive spirit in my daughter ignite like a flame was delightful. But no matter how hard she tried, Saya would never be able to compare to the fact that I was a few heads above her—not that I looked down on her or anything, but it was just a fact.

Despite my rather advanced age, I was still just as lush and beautiful, if not more seductive thanks to that very age—having acquired that mature and... what do the young men call it? A "MILF" aura?

I wasn't going to stand in the way of my daughter's desire to compete with me for Isao's attention, but Saya really should realize that she could never compare to me. And that was precisely why I would let her win this metaphysical rivalry between us.

In the end, we would both be Isao-chan's wives, and I truly didn't care about the rest.

And also...

I glanced at the girl sitting next to Saya—Saeko Busujima... who knew she would be the very first winner in a battle that hadn't even begun?

If Saya's words were true, she was already pregnant, and Isao-chan knew it. I found myself wondering, what would the first children of Awakened people be like?

Would they have the same powers as their parents? Would they inherit their parents' traits completely, or only partially?

It was all quite interesting...

Boom!

The loud explosion that rang out once again made me sigh. Another zombie had run toward the convoy, likely thinking it could harm us.

Saya flinched slightly. She was the only one among us who did, which she noticed herself, blushing as she started whispering with Saeko.

I smirked and returned to thinking about how we had launched the convoy. At the very front were the buses and cars; the first two vehicles carried armed men, followed by two buses and one car, then more buses and cars, repeating until we reached the end of the buses and the trucks, which were filled with everything necessary to set up comfortably on the island.

At the very end were several cars—six or seven—with empty cabins in five of them, driven by Awakened people.

The task for those five cars at the very end was to pick up people who would likely emerge from their homes upon hearing the incredibly loud sound of the engines, take them with us, and then reunite with the main convoy.

Yes, various problems would arise, and perhaps all sorts of criminals would want to join, but... the people sitting in those cars weren't made of soft material. They would easily kill any bastards and toss their bodies aside before they could even touch the door handle.

Not to mention that they were also carrying weapons modified by Kohta-kun, who was currently sitting in one of the cars in the middle, along with his new girlfriend—some female officer he'd met yesterday.

I sighed, starting to think about one thing: who the hell was going to pilot those ferries to the island...? Fine... maybe we'd made one huge, goddamn mistake somewhere, but it was just a chance of an error; there was a possibility that among these two thousand people, there would be a few who possessed the necessary skills.

Damn, speaking of that... we absolutely had to conduct a census—a complete one, to learn everything about each person, or at least try to.

From their blood type to the skills they possessed so that we could use them as effectively as possible in their work. I doubted Isao would allow people to simply rest on their laurels while a minority did all the work.

I smiled at the thought and kept driving, ignoring the loud, popping sounds echoing along the street.

Isao Tsumugi

It was boring. So-o fucking boring...

I was just flying at a speed close to forty or fifty kilometers per hour, level with the cars, and blasting all the dead who got too close to the convoy.

It wasn't that there were few of them; on the contrary, their numbers were massive. If a regular column of cars with ordinary people had been driving here, they would have been wiped out like nothing, but... I was the one handling things.

A person who possesses a fuck-ton of internal energy and the ability to create matter from nothing—specifically, various metals.

Right now, flying and picking off all these zombies, I felt like a player who'd leveled up to the max in the newbie location. Like... all the hostile mobs die before they even manage to reach me.

I waved my hand, created a thin, long blade, and sent it into the crowd running toward us a few dozen meters away. I watched as, a second later, they were lying on the ground, sliced clean through the middle of their bellies.

My "Sensor" was an incredibly awesome trait. I felt that every time I leaned on it, the range of this thing grew larger and larger.

If a day ago my sense only reached about one and a half to two kilometers, now I could easily feel everything within a five to six-kilometer radius.

It helped me kill zombies with complete freedom even if they weren't running toward us and were locked up in their homes. I just created incredibly sharp spears and, at a speed unimaginable to an ordinary person, covered them in "Wind Edge" and sent them flying.

Which was... bor-ing!

Just plain boring!

I didn't feel any people within the nearest kilometer; well, there were a few we'd already met, and those behind the convoy had already picked them up. But there were few of them. Most people, even despite the fact that a huge column of cars was driving by, for some reason didn't leave their homes.

And here I slightly pondered that the reason might be me. Even though I and the rest of my people were used to my quirks, these people were seeing me and my ability for the first time. There was a chance they feared my powers more than the zombies, so some were still staying inside their houses.

And most of the people who were alive didn't look like upstanding citizens, so they were lucky...

They were lucky they didn't come out, because if they had, I would have killed them.

I don't need any pseudo-bandits who will mock the weak and create problems in my Eden.

As soon as we reach the island, I'll create laws that will need to be followed in the beginning. They'll likely be slightly harsh so people don't get too full of themselves, and then after a while, I'll soften them, but until then, they'll have to wait.

[Kill 10,000 zombies]

[Silver ticket x2]

[Kill over 100 mutated zombies]

[Gold ticket]

Whoa! That's why I was killing zombies that weren't even moving toward me!

For the sake of these goddamn tickets! Gacha, rip 'em!

[Blood Tax]

Rare Ability

Whenever someone injures you, they lose a portion of their energy or stamina to you, allowing you to recover your energy and stamina even as you are getting damaged.

[Sky Jumper]

Uncommon Ability

You are able to treat air as a tangible platform to jump off of any time but you can't stand on it for more than a second without falling.

[Garden of Revelations]

Rare Item

A garden filled with a variety of beautiful flowers and has a mystical aura around it, inside the garden it is easier to study and learn magic.

...

Out of these things, only the Garden is really interesting. "Sky Jumper" is a cool ability, just like "Blood Tax," but for the former, I already know how to fly, and for the latter... no one can even hurt me in the first place...

As soon as I said that, I remembered how Rei had practically mopped the floor with me... meh, at that moment, I wasn't using any of my powers, so it was understandable that I'd get my ass handed to me, especially when my opponent has a build focused on agility and dexterity.

Fine, let's not think too much about that and just keep doing our own thing, calmly killing all the dead that happen to be in our path.

But... god, I was so bor-ed...!

[Get over 250 believers in your faith (Joint work of Oegi and the Hoshin sisters)]

[Silver ticket x2]

Those three... they're sitting in two different buses, aren't they?

Well done, keep working, give daddy more tickets.

[Charisma]

Uncommon Trait

You have a sort of charismatic presence around you, an aura that just pulls people in and makes you seem like more in their eyes.

[Sartorial Savant]

Common Trait

Your clothes are, for some reason, always clean and tidy, even your wardrobe, and small damages seem to even mend themselves.

Cool traits.

And let's continue doing what we were doing: killing these goddamn zombies!

I hope that by the time we arrive, I'll have killed a hundred thousand of them and gotten myself some gold tickets!

Because for such tedious work, I deserve to get my rightful paycheck!
