Isao Tsumugi
Approaching Yuriko and the others, I simply gave a cute smile. After all... it's much easier to strike a man's neck with an axe when the victim doesn't even know the executioner is sharpening the blade.
I decided not to reveal to Tadashi just yet that I knew what a treacherous scumbag he was. Instead, I waved at them with a friendly smile!
"Good morning, everyone!" They all turned toward me at once, which made me flinch slightly—I mean, imagine six or more people turning in unison, looking at you with slight wariness. It's pretty creepy if you think about it, like a scene from a horror movie.
Kiriko quickly broke the tension, waving her hand at me and speaking up.
"Morning. I see someone's in high spirits?" She smiled a bit, while looking at me.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be? We're finally getting out of this hellhole of a city, and we can take a breather on the way to the island without having to worry about those brain-fucking zombies!" I raised my arms joyfully, and everyone around me smiled—except for one guy who just plastered a forced grin on his face while shooting glances at Tsurugi. "So, has anyone spoken to the people yet?"
"Yes, Master," Souichiro stepped forward, looking me straight in the eyes—not as if challenging me, but just looking. "I took the initiative to do so. The mass reaction was positive; they're all glad, and most are already preparing to move out and are milling around the parking lot." He nodded, after which I shifted my gaze to Kiriko.
"And what about the cargo?" Of course, I was referring to all the things she had loaded into the trucks yesterday, and she thought for a moment.
"Well, we managed to cram over ninety-nine percent of all the necessary items in there. Everything else was either only slightly useful or completely unnecessary. In short, we took only the essentials." I nodded, then pointed at her.
"By the way, you'll be in command of everyone—the police officers and so on. I hope they know you. As for your husband... well, let him be your deputy, I guess..." I just shrugged, looking with a faint smile at Tadashi, who looked like he wanted to object. "Sorry, man. I know you're the captain and all, but I trust your wife more since... well, she's been with me longer?" I smirked, watching him grow visibly nervous. "You should be thanking me that I didn't take everything you have. After all, you're the father of my girlfriend; it would be very rude of me to betray you like that." I shrugged and gestured toward Souichiro. "You, Souichiro, have proven your worth. All your men are back under your command. And you, Yuriko, will be my voice, as well as my second-in-command. In short, you'll be walking right by my side, okay?" I looked at them, and they all nodded, understanding their roles, before I turned to Tsurugi.
"Hmm, don't worry about me. My people, including Rika Minami, know what to do, and as for me..." He looked down at his shadow, from which the head of my dog poked out. "I wouldn't risk taking any action against you." Heh, judging by Tadashi's pale face, he was ready to shit himself, but the fact that he was still standing there and hadn't pulled his gun on me to take me hostage meant he didn't know he'd been exposed.
"Uh... Yuriko, you'll deal with them; I don't really know what to do with these people... and now... where is my mother?" Yuriko nodded at my words and replied.
"She should be near the food court. A minority of people, having learned they were leaving, decided they needed to eat, and we didn't mind feeding them. Your mother volunteered..."
"Next time, if she asks to, forbid it. She shouldn't be working. She's already spent almost her entire life working to feed me and my sister." I looked at her seriously, and she nodded guiltily.
I sighed and headed back upstairs, feeling a bit irritated that Mom was working. First of all, I didn't say anything against it yesterday at lunch because there were far fewer people, meaning fewer mouths to feed and the chance of some bullshit happening was much lower. But now? There were hundreds, maybe thousands of people walking around here, and I couldn't guarantee their loyalty or obedience.
Sensing her in my sensory spectrum, I quickly walked toward the area where people were sitting on stools eating. As I approached, some started whispering and looking at me with curiosity, some even with recognition. Some of the kids and teenagers looked at me with stars in their eyes—they probably already knew I was the one capable of bestowing superpowers—while others looked at me with gratitude. Unlike the government, I was there when they needed help—well, technically my people were where they needed to be, not me personally, but it still counted.
Some waved at me, some nodded. Overall, the atmosphere here was good, and I'd worried for nothing... Near the counter where Mom was handing out food, Rin and K-imoto were sitting a few meters away. I smiled at them and approached.
"Rin-chan!" I smiled at the little girl with two blue eyes, who looked up at me with trust.
"Isao-ani..." She said the common phrase of K-imoto with slight embarrassment, clearly having picked it up from her. For a second, I saw K-imoto herself in her, but younger, with much chubbier baby cheeks.
"Come on, honey, get up. We're leaving in half an hour... actually, let me carry you, sweetie." I quickly picked her up by the armpits and placed her on my forearm. She let out a small, delighted squeal and settled in. I then turned to K-imoto, who was watching with slight nostalgia and a silent smile. "K-imoto, come on, we have to go. You guys can sit in the car while I deal with everything else." I felt Mom starting to move, and K-imoto was silently smiling at something... she hadn't slept yesterday, had she?
"Of course, Ani." She nodded and stood up. Rin in my arms wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her head on mine. I turned back, looking with love at Mom, who was approaching me with slightly flushed cheeks.
"Isao-chan? Did something happen?" Mom cast a slightly tired glance at K-imoto, who smiled even wider as she looked at us, then turned her gaze back to me holding Rin.
"Nothing, I just thought you should wait in the car. We're moving toward the port in half an hour." I nodded, and she sighed and nodded back. Some people who were eating started doing so faster, and I simply walked with Mom toward the escalator, which was now just a massive metal staircase.
I walked in front, holding Rin, who was playing with my hair, in my arms. Well, she was sitting on my right arm, while my left hung limply. K-imoto was behind me, looking at Mom, who was walking to my left.
For the few dozen seconds we walked toward the escalator, everything was calm, but... at one point, I felt someone's warm hand slowly squeeze my left hand. I didn't even have to guess who it was, since only one person was to my left.
Looking over, I saw Mom with a smile full of pride and love looking at me, which made me grin broadly as well... and I could hear K-imoto giggling, even if she was only doing it inside her head.
Fine, whatever.
Quietly, we reached the exit with the automatic glass doors, which were now propped wide open. We stepped through, and I started walking toward the Humvee. I noticed Rika standing there with Shizuka, chatting lively.
They quickly noticed me. Rika nodded at me quite calmly, not even looking particularly tense that some kid now literally owned her Humvee—a vehicle she'd probably sweated and worked damn hard to acquire.
Mom went ahead and opened the back door, stepping into the cabin. As soon as she moved further inside and put Rin in, who smiled at me—making me smile back—K-imoto was next. With a sly, cat-like grin, she sat in the cabin and, without closing the door, simply lay down on the seat while I walked toward Rika and Shizuka.
"I wanted to thank you, Rika-san." I held out my hand to Rika with a grateful smile, and she took it with a quiet smirk and shook it.
"Don't sweat it, kid. I'm grateful to you too, because if it weren't for you, this idiot," We both ignored the indignant cry of protest from Shizuka with a bit of amusement, "wouldn't have been able to get out of the school safely."
"Kid? You really want to call me that?" Really? I looked down at her. Even though she was quite tall for a woman, I was still taller, over twenty centimeters if not more, and I could easily look down at her.
"Oh~ what do you want me to call you?" She smiled slightly with the corners of her lips, as if seducing me, and placed her hand on my chest, pressing herself slightly against me while ignoring her friend's surprised look. "Do you want me to call you 'Master,' or, 'Boss' since I'm in your group now, just like more than half of my squad?" She chuckled, but her smirk faded when I raised one eyebrow unimpressed. Because... well, it wasn't as seductive as she thought. I mean, Yuriko sucking my dick with devotion, love and everything else, showing with her eyes every time that she was mine, was much better. Light wordplay I can do myself.
"Well, if you love roleplay so much, I'm not going to be against you calling me your Master, Rika-san." I smiled at her while patting her on the head. A few of my traits, honed for beauty, hit her, making her let out a slight sigh.
"Y-you... brat..." She squeezed her lips in embarrassment and looked at me with feigned offense, sighing with slight disappointment that her feminine charm had no effect on me.
"Once again, since you love roleplay so much, you must call me 'Master,' Rika-san... after all, only a sweet woman like Shizuka can call me by my name, and only women I like." Shizuka blushed slightly at my compliment and the hint that I liked her, and Rika just smirked and laughed at it slightly.
"Damn, it's no wonder Yuriko doesn't even look at her husband anymore. After all, there's much fresher meat hanging around here."
"Don't worry, there's enough of my meat for you, too. In fact... there's enough for a huge number of women. That's the benefit of superhuman stamina." She raised an eyebrow in confusion, then smirked, while her friend blushed even more.
"Too many hints, kid. I'm not a prude—of course, I don't fuck every first person I see—but it would have been enough if you had just said you wanted tofuck me and my booty. After all, it would be the first time I'd do it with someone like you, a New-human, especially when you're also handsome and sexy for a boy of your age." Listening to what she said, I made a mental note, and became interested in her last word, not the part where she compliments me, but one where she called me "New-Human", while smiling at how Shizuka, still standing to the side, was nodding approvingly with flushed cheeks, as if saying she wasn't against it either.
"New-human?" My question made her sigh slightly and grab her head, scratching it.
"Well, that's what you're called among almost all the people here. Either that or just 'Awakened,' because, well, you awaken powers and all that." Lifting my chin slightly, I pondered: New-human or Awakened? Dunno, I'm bad with names and titles. When you name something in a manga and it's very dramatic, it's acceptable, but in real life... it's more likely to be just embarrassing.
"That's... cool, but it's better to think about all that later. Right now, I just want to safely reach the island." I looked toward the side where people were being slowly herded into buses. Yuriko was talking to everyone, telling them where to go, and they were following her orders.
"Hmm, and what's going to happen there?" Rika asked in a slightly curious voice, making me turn toward her with a questioning hum. "What will happen when you reach the island? What are your ideas?" She looked at me with a sharp gaze, as if evaluating something, and I sighed.
"The first? Possibly clear the island of any potential zombies, after which I'll start settling all the people into homes. Then, once we've handled all that, I'll have to create governing bodies to control everything."
"And how do you envision this governing body?" Her question... was she asking what I intended to do? Hah... how foolish; the answer was obvious.
"I'm at the top, and everyone else is at the bottom." My voice was cold as I looked toward Tadashi, who was talking to his friends, his lover, and his best friend. "Only by having all the power in my hands can I guarantee that all my loved ones will live in comfort and be happy... if anyone is against that... they can just fuck off, and exiled from my Eden." I turned to her, and something in my eyes seemed to catch her.
[Impress Rika Minami]
[Silver ticket]
"Heh... you're good, kid. Such great ambition, but... aren't you afraid that your power will go to your head?" She lit a cigarette she had between her teeth, looking somewhere toward the people.
"No. With great power comes great responsibility... and secondly... Mom wouldn't be very happy about that." I smiled, watching a woman get on a bus while holding her son's hand. "She wouldn't pat me on the head if I became a piece of shit, and I wouldn't want that. After all, I love my mother more than I could ever love myself." Something in the way I said that made her smile a quite sweet smile. She took the cigarette out and looked at me.
"You're... a good person, Isao Tsumugi."
"We'll see about that." After that, I nodded to them and headed toward Yuriko, who was watching the people climbing into the buses.
[Horseshoe Necklace]
|Common Item|
A horseshoe fashioned into a necklace that grants the wearer the stamina and leg strength of a Mustang Horse.
Heh, a cool thing, which I immediately put on my neck under my clothes. I immediately felt an increase in leg strength and continued walking toward Yuriko, who was now being joined by Saya and Saeko.
