Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Indestructible Cockroach

"Found it!"

Soon, Cipher found the switch on the box.

However, the moment she opened the switch, Cipher felt a sense of danger emanating from inside the box.

The instant she sensed the danger, Cipher instinctively crouched down.

Immediately after, the upper part of the box suddenly exploded, and as the box burst open, a cold glint flashed right over her head.

Seeing this, Cipher responded with a direct kick to the box.

When she clearly felt her kick break through the box and hit an object, Cipher used the recoil to retreat rapidly, pulling a certain distance away from the contents of the box in less than a second.

"Hiss... As expected of Genesis Technology's feline gene-modified human, the reaction speed is truly incredible."

A familiar male voice rang in Cipher's ears, and she immediately remembered who the owner of the voice was.

This person was none other than Felix, who had been conversing with Boss Shen yesterday!

'I wondered why I hadn't seen any trace of Felix all this way. I didn't expect this insidious scoundrel to be hiding in the box these two gangs were trading!'

Cipher stared somewhat displeased at the man who emerged from the box. As a [Trickery] demigod, she had almost been successfully ambushed by this person, which was an utter disgrace!!!

"First, I am not a Genesis Technology person as you claim! Second, I am not a feline gene-modified human! Stop labeling me with your stereotypes!!!"

After saying this, Cipher pushed off with her feet and lunged towards the man in an arrow-like dash.

Hearing Cipher's words, Felix was visibly stunned, but when he saw Cipher charging at him, he instinctively thrust his dagger straight forward.

Evidently, his attack missed. Cipher had already gotten behind Felix and delivered a heavy punch to the back of his head.

Felix was unable to dodge and stumbled directly.

He grunted, but quickly regained his balance, using his dagger to slash backward with a reverse grip.

But this time, it also missed.

Under Cipher's extreme speed, no matter how Felix attacked, anticipated, or counterattacked, it was all useless. Without exception, Cipher dodged every single move.

Outside of the two, Lauren and Ethan could only see many golden-purple afterimages rapidly flashing around this unfamiliar man.

Lauren held her gun, aiming at the man who was being moved around by the blows, unsure whether to fire.

However, her hesitation wasn't about whether she could hit the man, but rather whether she might accidentally injure Cipher, given her incredible speed, if she were to shoot.

After all, it currently seemed that Sister Cipher was in the advantageous position. If she were to fire, would it disrupt this balance?

'How is this fellow so durable!!'

Cipher was somewhat annoyed. She felt her blows were quite powerful; she had kicked or punched the back of his head, temples, throat, abdomen, and even the man's vital parts.

But why, no matter how much she beat him, had this man still not fallen, and still had the strength to retaliate!

She had also thought about hitting his hand to make him drop his weapon, then picking up his weapon and giving him a few harsh stabs.

But the man's right hand seemed to be welded to the hilt of the knife, unmoving!

"It's useless."

At this moment, Felix spoke. While taking hits and retaliating, he slowly said:

"I admit I underestimated you. Your speed and strength far exceeded my expectations, but you definitely won't be able to kill me anytime soon. My reinforcements are almost here. If you still want your companions to leave safely, then while there's still time, go back."

Hearing Felix's words, Cipher frowned.

She stopped her attack, then said to Lauren and the others not far away:

"Lauren, you take the others back first. I'll continue to deal with this person."

"But, Sister Cipher, you..."

"Go back. I've told you, I'm very strong. This tenacious cockroach can't threaten me."

"...Okay."

Seeing Cipher's determination, Lauren bit her lip and turned to walk out of the warehouse.

Seeing this, Ethan hesitated, wanting to say something, but before he could speak, Lauren's voice came again.

"Ethan, let's go."

"Cipher, be careful. We'll be back..."

After dropping these words, Ethan turned and followed Lauren out... "Captain... do we really have to leave?"

As soon as the two returned to the alley, Jasmine hesitantly spoke to Lauren.

She had already seen the entire incident through surveillance.

"Of course we have to go. Even someone as amazing as Sister Cipher can't deal with him. That person isn't someone we can handle."

"But..."

Jasmine wanted to say more, but was quickly interrupted by Lauren.

"I know what you want to say. We definitely have to go, but that doesn't mean we won't come back."

"Captain, what do you mean?"

Hearing this, Jasmine, who had originally looked a bit dejected, immediately brightened up.

"I can only go beg her... I hope this money can persuade her to help us..."

Lauren clutched the terminal in her hand. She looked at the 10531 credit points displayed on the terminal, muttering to herself with a firm tone...

...

At this moment, Felix was panting heavily, sitting on the ground leaning against the wall.

He looked at Cipher, who was leaning against the wall not far away, eyes closed in rest, and forced a smile, saying to her:

"You're still not leaving? Are you going to continue fighting me until my reinforcements arrive?"

"I'm too lazy to keep fighting an unbreakable sandbag. And being unilaterally beaten can be called a fight by you? No wonder you're so durable, your skin is really thick."

"As for why I'm not leaving..."

Saying this, Cipher paused for a moment, then opened her eyes and looked at Felix, speaking word by word:

"I want to see... if your reinforcements are also like you, no matter how much you hit them, they just won't—die—!"

After speaking, she closed her eyes again.

"Then I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you."

Felix shook his head and explained:

"Because my ability is B-rank rapid recovery, and before coming, I injected myself with a standard concentration of potential-activating medium, raising my ability to B+ rank. That's why I feel unkillable, but my reinforcements don't have abilities like mine."

"And, I think there might be some misunderstanding between us..."

"Misunderstanding? Are you referring to you staking out our objective, and then trying to stab me when I wasn't paying attention?"
