Chapter 11 - Chapter 8: Let's Celebrate Properly!

Hu Jin Kindergarten.

When Lin Jiayi finished decorating the classroom and came out, the teachers from other classes had also gradually wrapped up their work, tidied up, and were getting ready to clock out.

"Teacher Lin!"

The teachers from other classes greeted Lin Jiayi in succession and didn't forget to ask about the progress of her class decoration: "How's your classroom coming along?"

"Almost done. If nothing unexpected happens, we should be able to wrap up by tomorrow."

Lin Jiayi replied with a smile, while also inquiring caringly: "How about your class? Almost done too?"

"Almost, but not as fast as yours. We'll probably need another two days! Some materials for our class haven't arrived yet, so we've been a bit delayed."

"Oh, I see!"

She empathetically comforted, "It's okay, there's still plenty of time, no rush."

Just as she finished speaking, a cheerful "giggle" came from the school gate.

Hmm?

They all turned their heads simultaneously to see two children around the age of four, holding hands, skipping past the school gate.

So cute.

They looked as if they'd been made from the same mold.

Identical faces, identical outfits, similar heights, made them stand out in the crowd.

Lin Jiayi, who was slightly nearsighted, squinted to look, feeling they seemed quite familiar.

The other teachers, however, wore smiles of affection, some even exclaimed with surprise: "Wow, twins…"

"Wow… such adorable twins…"

"Wow… these twins are so beautiful, their looks are stunning…"

The rising exclamations made Qingqing and Weiwei pause curiously, poking their cute little heads towards the school gate…

They saw a group of pretty ladies smiling brightly at them.

Qingqing, under their gazes, instinctively ducked her head down shyly.

She was a bit shy.

Because she was being watched by so many strangers.

Weiwei, on the other hand, wasn't the least bit stage fright, blinked her big eyes, and immediately recognized Lin Jiayi among the crowd.

Oh?

Isn't that the teacher from the first kindergarten?

She observed the surroundings again and immediately understood where she was now and why she had run into Lin Jiayi again.

Although this kindergarten didn't hire her dad as the chef, which slightly displeased her, she had come to terms with it since her dad had found a job, and he always taught her to politely greet people she knew.

She then waved at Lin Jiayi, greeting in a sweet, childish voice, "Hello, teacher."

Lin Jiayi recognized them as well, smiling as she responded, "Hello, kids, where are you coming back from?"

"Teacher, we're coming back from that kindergarten over there."

Weiwei pointed to the direction behind her, eyes sparkling with anticipation, and added, "In a few days, we're going to start school at that kindergarten!"

"Really!"

Lin Jiayi felt a slight pang of regret and sorrow.

Due to certain reasons, she had to miss out on these adorable and charming twins!

Initially, they came to inquire about enrolling in her kindergarten, and though they eventually chose another due to the full capacity here, the transition still brought a sense of unexplained disappointment.

Nevertheless, she didn't show it on her face, maintaining a gentle smile, and softly advised, "Then you must attend school diligently and listen to your teachers!"

"Mm-hmm, we will."

Once Weiwei started talking, she couldn't hold back and continued to share, "Teacher, guess what, my dad became the chef at that kindergarten!"

Oh…

He actually got the job…

This outcome really surprised Lin Jiayi.

Reflecting on the previous conversation with Director Li, they both thought it wouldn't be easy for a parent to land a chef position at any kindergarten in the city, even if they applied to every single one.

In hindsight, this thought was evidently too hasty and one-sided.

Thinking about her misunderstanding and prejudice, her cheeks flushed with a touch of embarrassed blush.

She even forgot to respond to Weiwei's "bye-bye."

And, from a short distance, Li Huizhen, having just arrived near the school gate, overheard Weiwei's words.

She too felt quite surprised, and an awkward expression crossed her face, realizing she shouldn't judge others with a closed-minded attitude, and this bias was incorrect.

Of course, she had no clue that soon she would regret not hiring Huang Jun as the head chef at their kindergarten in the first place.

"Teacher Lin, who are these two kids? Do you know them?"

After Qingqing and Weiwei walked away, other curious teachers couldn't help but ask Lin Jiayi.

Lin Jiayi shared the afternoon's event about the family's consultation and Huang Jun's chef application with her colleagues.

"It was just a brief encounter!"

The other teachers laughed and said, "But those twins are really cute, especially that older sister or younger sister who remembered you and even greeted you. There aren't many polite kids like her nowadays!"

"Yes, yes, they look so well-behaved and adorable, and so polite. I'd love to have them in my class; it's a pity they're already enrolled elsewhere, and what's more… I'm a big class teacher."

"Hey, hey, hey, don't you think their dad seems like a doting dad?"

"Oh, you noticed that too?"

"Of course! If he wasn't a doting dad, how could he want to apply for a chef position at a kindergarten just to be with his daughters? Plus, I think he must be a skilled cook, or else why would Dorami Kindergarten hire him?"

"Oh, this you know too, like you've planted an eye in Dorami's principal's office."

"Dorami Kindergarten's principal isn't blind, of course they could discern cooking skills!"

Lin Jiayi: "…"

Li Huizhen nearby: "…"

They seriously suspected this teacher had eavesdropped on their conversation this afternoon, intentionally making jokes about them now, only they had no evidence…

In fact, they understood this teacher meant no harm, just found the incident amusing enough to relay a bit more.

...

Meanwhile, Huang Jun and his family of three were happily heading home.

As they passed by a nearby market, realizing they were out of groceries and planning to make braised prawns for the little ones, he called them: "Qingqing, Weiwei, wait a moment."

"Daddy, what is it?"

The little ones stood still obediently, turning their curious faces back at him.

Huang Jun smiled, "How about daddy takes you to the market and buy some groceries?"

"Yay~"

The little ones nodded vigorously like pecking chicks.

Weiwei's little eyes rolled: "Daddy, are you going to make some yummy food for us?"

"Yes indeed!"

Huang Jun nodded, "Daddy got the job, and you both are successfully enrolled, it's a double celebration, so of course we'll make some delicious food to celebrate tonight."

"Yay~"

Qingqing and Weiwei started dancing joyfully, thinking about enjoying their dad's cooking that evening, they couldn't help but greedily lick their little rosy lips.

Huang Jun chuckled, "Then let's go…"

"Let's go!"

The trio immediately changed their course, heading towards the nearby market.
