Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Miracles and Magic Truly Exist

"I thought it was a speed bump..."

"Couldn't see it in the blind spot..."

"You can tell the insurance company."

These were the last words Jiang Si heard before losing consciousness.

He should have been hit to death.

The reason he was so certain was that when Jiang Si woke up, he found himself smaller.

Moreover, the world had turned into a strange appearance.

He felt a bit regretful.

He didn't want to commit suicide.

It was just that he had no retreat at that time, and his Body Refining had also reached a bottleneck.

Challenging beyond limits, surpassing the extreme, is the most common way to break through a bottleneck, and Jiang Si naturally adopted the wisdom of his predecessors.

In fact, during the confrontation with the truck, he indeed surpassed himself and stopped the truck.

He might have even unlocked his gene lock.

Sadly, he couldn't save his life. If he hadn't died, his body would probably have been strengthened to a new stage.

Now everything reset back to zero and started again, naturally, he felt a bit regretful.

But, that's all, just five years anyway.

This time he started training from a young age, as the plasticity of a young body is stronger, allowing breakthroughs to higher levels.

He began training at the age of three.

At seven, he had some achievements, and by ten, he caught up with the level he had in his previous life.

The speed of his growth made even Jiang Si feel incredible, as if some power was helping him get stronger faster.

However, this world had no extraordinary abilities.

His parents were very Ordinary office workers, and those around him were all Ordinary people, with the news reporting only car accidents and current affairs every day.

Except for the name of this city, Beihai, which he had never heard of before, nothing changed.

Jiang Si had already become accustomed to it.

Although he fantasized about whether he had traveled to a world where he could Cultivate Immortality, he did not hold too much expectation. Once he discovered that the world was not much different, he immediately gave up the fantasy.

This life's parents were still relatively open-minded. Although he was obsessed with training, almost unlike a normal child, never interacting with others, never crying or making a fuss, playing with peers, his parents never showed any dissatisfaction.

Although they asked him why he didn't play with other children, after Jiang Si said he didn't like it, they did not insist.

Later, because Jiang Si was always so aloof, his parents almost didn't bother with him.

Life was steady and uneventful. His parents weren't rich but earned decent salaries. At four years old, Jiang Si's family bought an apartment in the city center. The timing was neither good nor bad, and although the price wasn't low, it increased even further two years later.

When Jiang Si turned five, he had a younger sister. Although the couple sometimes quarreled, their relationship remained sweet.

Compared to Jiang Si, who was not affectionate, his sister was relatively normal, often clinging to their parents and very dependent on them, which led to her being particularly pampered by their parents.

After all, they finally had a normal child.

Although Jiang Si had little interest in his sister, he would take care of her somewhat just to repay his parents for raising him.

Therefore, for a period, his relationship with his sister was quite good.

Until that day.

When their parents excitedly wanted to take them on a trip, Jiang Si was actually not very willing.

Recently, his Body Refining reached a bottleneck period, and after reaching the limit of self-training, it became difficult to progress further.

He was seeking a new breakthrough, and Jiang Si wasn't really in the mood for a vacation.

However, seeing his family of three's eager faces, he couldn't bear to dampen their spirits.

In the end, he went along with their wishes and got in the car.

Feeling drowsy along the way, it wasn't just exhaustion lately; his strength had reached a plateau, leaving him a bit distracted.

Perhaps he needed some external stimuli to help him break through. Yet, in this place almost no different from the last life, where could he find some extraordinary power to help him embark on the first step of Cultivation Immortality?

His sister's chatter buzzed in his ears, his mother's soft snores, his father holding his sister, coaxing her, with laughter occasionally breaking through.

The car felt stuffy, a layer of white mist clinging to the windows. Leaning against the window, Jiang Si watched the Ordinary buildings outside, the Ordinary pedestrians, the Ordinary vehicles, lost in thought.

The only difference in this world was the name of the city; everything else was no different from the last life, even the monster hanging from the building outside looked Ordinary...

Monster?

Jiang Si suddenly raised his head.

A monster like some parasitic plant was brandishing claws and teeth, densely packed roots spreading from the rooftop, engulfing the entire building, and more roots burrowing into the ground.

No idea where the first cry of alarm came from, the sound seemed distant through the car windows.

The glass of the parasitized building shattered with a crash, along with stones and dust, like a waterfall engulfing the people below.

Panic began spreading as roots flipped distant vehicles, smashing them onto another, just ahead, someone was swept up, impaled mid-air by the roots.

"Disaster Beast!"

The heat from a distant car explosion rolled in, cracks and scorch marks spread across the window Jiang Si leaned on.

Roots grew from beneath the car, pressed against the window, right at Jiang Si's nose.

That scent, with some plant fragrance, mixed with blood, flooded his mouth and nose, Jiang Si tightly grasped a piece and tore it off.

Extraordinary power...

Then he was suddenly pulled back by someone.

"Watch out!"

The entire car flipped over.

The world turned upside down, terrifying forces beyond human imagination, vision and thought plunged into chaos.

Jiang Si struggled to reach for those nearby, finally only managing to grab his sister.

Not knowing how many times they rolled, he shielded his sister beneath him. Luckily, his body was trained well enough, providing her a safe space.

Otherwise, just the rolling and crushing would've been enough to kill the little girl.

Glass sliced by his face, the pain searing slightly, and that sweet scent persistently lingered in his mouth and nose. No idea how many times the car turned, but it finally stopped.

Surrounded by smoke, Jiang Si coughed, kicked open the window, and fell to the ground with his sister. Glass shards scattered on the ground, he supported himself with one hand, found a relatively safe spot, and laid his unconscious sister down.

The sobbing and groaning in the car spread with the smoke, his hearing seemed impaired, sound vaguely muffled like through a cloth.

Jiang Si raised his head to look at the Disaster Beast.

For some reason, it was retracting its roots, shrinking, curling up inside the building, as if fearing something.

He staggered to the car, forcibly pulling open the door, dead and injured spilling out, he sifted through the crowd, searching for his parents.

Yet he couldn't find them; when the car flew up, some people fell out.

He turned back to the devastated road, then heard a whistling sound from above.

It didn't sound like a plane, or a bird.

Jiang Si looked up, a blue streak stopped in front of the building hosting the Disaster Beast.

It was a girl in a glamorous, fluffy short skirt, dazzlingly beautiful, the Magic Staff in her hand particularly eye-catching.

That is...

"Magical Girl!"
