Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Spell Cultivation

Those who did not complete Qi Refining were left in the main hall, while Chu Ning and others were taken away.

Subsequently, they were divided according to the types of cultivation techniques and spells they practiced.

The Spirit Plant Room here mainly practices Wood Attribute cultivation techniques, with a total of five people, besides Chu Ning and Qiu Shunyi, there were three others.

A Transmission Disciple with a medium build and quite handsome appearance led the five to an open space behind the Transmission Room and then spoke:

"I am Shi Yao, the Transmission Disciple for Wood Element cultivation techniques at the Instructor Hall, with Ninth Layer of Qi Refining cultivation."

As soon as Shi Yao said this, the five people were immediately taken aback.

They previously only thought Shi Yao was low-key, but did not expect Shi Yao to be a master of the Ninth Layer of Qi Refining.

Shi Yao noticed their expressions but didn't show too much pride, instead said calmly:

"You are new disciples who just started Qi Refining and gathering Magical Power, so let's start with learning some basic techniques.

Presumably, you have heard that the most basic techniques for planting Spirit Plants are Accelerating Technique, Clearing Technique, and Ganlin Technique, the first two being Wood Techniques, and the latter being a Water Technique."

Upon hearing this, one of the three others, named Yuan Guang, asked:

"Senior Brother, can we perform Water Techniques while cultivating the Cyan Wood Evergreen Technique, a Wood Element cultivation technique?"

"Of course!" Shi Yao nodded.

"After using our Magical Power, we can evoke the Five Elements Spiritual Qi. Except for very high-tier spells or those requiring higher Magical Power, most can be performed.

However, techniques that match the attribute are more powerful and consume less Magical Power.

The techniques I mentioned don't pose too much difficulty; once the Cyan Wood Evergreen Technique is stable at the First Layer, and with practice, all can be performed."

After explaining this, Shi Yao paused and then said to the group:

"Today I will teach you the Accelerating Technique, which is simpler and will help you understand the Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill."

As he spoke, Shi Yao patted a bag on his waist, and a grain of rice appeared in his hand.

Chu Ning watched this movement and instinctively gazed at the bag.

Simultaneously, a round-faced female disciple exclaimed.

"Is this a Storage Bag?"

The other three looked over as well; in Spirit Plant Zone D, servant disciples practiced at a low level, with poor income, rarely seeing treasures like Storage Bags.

Evidently, none of the group had one, so they were seeing it for the first time.

Shi Yao nodded without saying anything, then said to them:

"I will first demonstrate the Accelerating Technique, then teach you the incantations and hand formulas."

With that, he tossed the seed onto the ground, quickly made some hand formulas, and pointed at the seed.

Soon the rice grain broke open, growing shoots in no time.

"The Accelerating Technique assists Spirit Plants in sprouting, developing, and growing, but does not change the quality. This differs from the Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill."

After explaining, Shi Yao began teaching the Accelerating Technique incantations and hand formulas.

Shi Yao believed everyone had just started Qi Refining and hadn't cultivated much Magical Power, so he didn't let them practice the spell yet.

He only made Chu Ning and others memorize the incantations, and practice the hand formulas.

After some time, once everyone had memorized them, he began explaining some cultivation insights of the Cyan Wood Evergreen Technique and Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill.

Chu Ning found the insights quite enlightening.

For instance, Shi Yao revealed that the Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill's effects enhance alongside the Cyan Wood Evergreen Technique's refinement.

However, the cultivation proficiency of the Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill itself is crucial. Achieving perfection allows it to become instinctual, cast instantly without hand formulas, minimizing Magical Power consumption.

Similar principles apply to other techniques.

When Chu Ning compared the spellcasting of himself and Cao Dongxin, he realized they were still far from this state.

It was understandable for himself as time was insufficient.

Cao Dongxin, who had been cultivating the spell for decades, still hadn't reached it, demonstrating how important Talent is in the Cultivation Realm.

Once the instruction and discussion concluded, Shi Yao gave everyone some rice grains, signifying they could leave.

Chu Ning rose but didn't leave immediately, instead approached Shi Yao and respectfully saluted.

"Senior Brother Shi, could you also teach the Clearing Technique and Ganlin Technique?"

Shi Yao frowned slightly, a bit displeased:

"I remember your name is Chu Ning, right? You just entered the First Layer of Qi Refining; focus on your cultivation method, learning one technique is enough. Too much at once can lead to poor proficiency."

Chu Ning quickly explained, "You misunderstood, Senior Brother. I don't currently wish to cultivate them, I just want to jot them down to understand them slowly later.

My situation is somewhat unique; the Senior Brother I follow is rather eccentric. Besides cultivating methods, he often considers learning spells while doing odd jobs…"

"Perhaps you follow Cao Dongxin?" Shi Yao suddenly asked.

"Yes." Chu Ning nodded, unsurprised by Shi Yao knowing Cao Dongxin.

Shi Yao was well acquainted with the Spirit Plant Room, thanks to his understanding of the Cyan Wood Evergreen Technique and Cyan Wood Spring Blossom Skill.

Indeed, Shi Yao soon spoke: "I've heard about Cao Dongxin's deeds."

"Alright, I'll teach them to you now, but remember, cultivation methods are foundational; stabilizing and advancing your realm is your current priority."

Chu Ning earnestly agreed.

Thus, Shi Yao taught Chu Ning the other two techniques.

Chu Ning left the Transmission Room satisfied, heading toward Spirit Plant Zone D.

His earlier explanation was partially true; the real reason being that he knew he could quickly cultivate the two Wood Techniques, Accelerating Technique, and Clearing Technique.

Moreover, his cultivation progress was already stable at the First Layer; in half a month, he might even progress to the Second Layer.

He would naturally have the qualifications to cultivate more techniques.

Regarding the Ganlin Technique, he hadn't attempted it but wished to try cultivating techniques of other attributes.

Cao Dongxin had already started assigning clearing weeds tasks to Chu Ning, consuming much of his time, and if he cultivated the Clearing Technique, it would be quite useful.

Back at the courtyard, Cao Dongxin had returned, and after lunch, he asked Chu Ning to go to the field and clear weeds.

Chu Ning, eager to practice techniques, quickly left.

Arriving at the field, Chu Ning silently reviewed the Clearing Technique incantations in his mind, and with Magical Power operating, he targeted a weed and cast the technique.

The weed was immediately uprooted by a force, succeeding on the first try.

Despite choosing an area with fewer weeds and poorly managing Magical Power consumption, this success still impressed Chu Ning.

The Yin Wood Spirit Body's talent for Wood Techniques was indeed strong; however, what remains unknown is its performance when cultivating higher-tier techniques and spells in the future.

Next, Chu Ning performed the Accelerating Technique, again succeeding the first time.

Of course, the speed of acceleration couldn't compare to Shi Yao, the Transmission Disciple.

But after spending some time, the shoots eventually sprouted.

Now, time to try the Ganlin Technique.
