Chapter 49 - Chapter 45: The Shadows Dispelled

"Don't joke around."

Ken looked around, sweating with embarrassment, and said with a wry smile, "These are fishmen, what can I do? Any one of them could slap me away with a single hand."

Speaking of which.

When he was riding his bicycle along the field embankment, rushing to get here, he saw from afar that the ones landing were fishmen, and his heart sank halfway.

He had seen reports of these guys in the newspapers.

They were former pirates belonging to the Sun Pirates, coming from the Grand Line to the East Sea, their strength was not something any East Sea Pirate Gang could match.

But who could have expected.

Within less than twenty minutes of these fishmen landing, they had all turned into corpses.

Although he had witnessed how exaggerated Shano was in his body training, it couldn't compare to the shock of personally seeing all the pirates from the Grand Line completely wiped out.

"Shano." Ken mused, "You guy, you really are an outright monster, looks like our Cocoyashi Village is finally going to produce a bigshot in the future."

"Really?"

Shano laughed heartily, stretched lazily, and stood up.

"But right now, I just want to go home and have a good sleep. I'll leave the battlefield cleanup to you, uncle."

Ken nodded, before he had the chance to say anything, suddenly widened his eyes, looking behind Shano.

What's happening?

Shano followed his gaze and happened to see the sea surface in the distance rolling violently.

A large sea beast, fully covered in green spots and looking very much like a cow, emerged, blankly staring at the corpses all over the ground.

"MooMoo?"

He remembered that this was the sea beast raised by the Ah Long Pirates, wasn't it?

Is it coming out now to avenge Ah Long?

Shano grinned, jumped to the front of the deck, he was no longer the little kid who had to yield to the King of the Near Sea back then.

MooMoo was several times larger than the King of the Near Sea, but with his current physical strength, it would probably be hard to hold out even against a single punch.

Moo——!

Who would have thought, in the next moment, MooMoo burst out with a joyful cry, spat a mouthful of saliva at the corpses of fishmen on the ground, then bowed its front limbs towards Shano...

"Did I see it wrong, Shano?" Ken on the shore was surprised, "Is this guy thanking you with its fists clasped?"

Looks like it.

Shano was also somewhat bewildered by it, his clenched fist suddenly unsure if he should swing it.

But MooMoo didn't give him much time to think, it turned around, leaped, wagging its tail happily as it jumped into the sea, soon disappearing without a trace.

"This scene feels a bit familiar."

Shano rubbed his chin, lost in thought.

Is there a possibility that Shirahoshi is actually pretending, and he is the real Sea King Poseidon of this generation?

...

Half an hour later.

Villagers started to help, cleaning up and tidying the pier battlefield.

Earlier, the news brought by the children about the pirate gang landing, had everyone in the village in a panic, until hearing Shano had already gone over, they eased their worries.

And Shano lived up to everyone's expectations, astonishingly fighting solo and annihilating the entire pirate gang.

As for the overly bloody scenes near the pier...

No one thought if it was too brutal, they only felt these pirates deserved it, if it weren't for Shano, those lying in pools of blood could've been them!

Especially when Ken dialed up surrounding village towns on the island, asking about their recent conditions.

He was surprised to learn that the neighboring Kesha Town had been completely destroyed by the Ah Long Pirates, with most villagers dead or injured, leaving everyone indignant yet fearful, feeling fortunate.

Thankfully, their Cocoyashi Village produced a remarkable strongman!

This averted the tragic outcome.

...

On the field embankment under the shade of coconut trees.

Shano walked leisurely towards home, arms folded behind his head, not running, nor using "Soru" to hurry, slower than elderly grandpas taking morning strolls.

From the awakening memories till now, four years have passed in a blink, he hasn't completely relaxed like this for a long time.

Ah Long is dead.

The Ah Long Pirates are annihilated.

This means the gloom hanging over Cocoyashi Village has finally dissipated, and the great stone weighing on his heart has completely crumbled apart.

"What wonderful weather."

Shano looked up at the blue sky and white clouds, feeling pleasant and content.

Retracting his thoughts slightly, he casually opened the system panel.

The cleanup work was handed to the uncles in the village, but he wouldn't forget the spoils of war he should claim.

Before Ken arrived, he had tried out almost everything that could be sacrificed.

There were plenty of named fishman corpses, providing enough chances to trial and error, seen system rules anew.

Apart from sacrificing personal favorite items.

Limbs seemed the limit the system could accept, unable to directly sacrifice entire corpses, head not accepted even when chopped.

Small heads even less so.

Like the system also restricted by the mighty crab, overly dark, bloody, sinister stuff not in the sacrifice list.

Shano could understand.

In the end, according to the info stream from the system panel, he sorted things out.

Like Shioyaki, Little Wu, Pissarro, these officers with lots of water, and little screen time, provided meager points, averaged only tens or so.

Croobi, Hachi, these somewhat skilled officers, offered points between tens to two hundred.

Altogether far less compared to Ah Long.

He cut off the arm of Ah Long with a red tattoo, sacrificing it netted eight hundred points, enough to buy a decent Cultivation Manual in the store.

Good stuff naturally shouldn't go to waste.

He touched his pants pocket, inside were Ah Long's nose and several fangs, these are reserved, find a hidden place to freeze them later, sacrifice when cooldown ends each time.

This action seemed somewhat unkind, but Ah Long shouldn't have a problem.

"Brother!"

A familiar voice suddenly rang, Shano looked up, seeing Nojiko and Nami excitedly running over.

"You really defeated the invading pirates, right!"

"Yeah." He picked each up, laughing, "But you guys are late, the fight ended quite some time ago."

"Hmph, I knew it! Easy peasy, some kids in the village worried you couldn't beat them alone, a bunch of clueless people, know what East Sea's Great Sword Master means!"

Nami, stop spreading rumors!

Shano, slightly annoyed, ruffled her hair, this little punk, the clueless one is you, isn't it? Peeking at me training so many times yet still can't tell I am clueless about swordsmanship!

"Are you taking us home?" Nojiko asked.

"No way!"

Nami pouted, shaking her head like a rattle, "We just snuck out, still want to see what those pirates look like."

"Too bloody, not suitable for children, you can't go."

Shano pulled back Nami trying to slip away from under his armpit, ignored her mouth pouting like a teapot, dropping his gaze on her arms.

Then glanced at Nojiko's.

Both little arms were clean and white, without any tattoo marks, no need to cut, to stab, to cry bitterly...

"Hey, bro, what are you staring at!"

Nami dissatisfiedly glared at Shano, "Planning to tattletale to Belle-Mere again, right? I took a bath and washed my hair last night!"

"Well, aren't you considerate."

Shano laughed heartily, holding his two sisters high up over his head, placing them on his broad shoulders, stepping towards home under the afternoon sun.
